In the end I wasn't able to meet the deadline for the birthday bash event with my other project, so I decided to make a small game just to see if I could finish something before the deadline. And indeed I could! Like the slogan at rmn's title says my two days of dedication are an inspiration to you all, I'm sure.

In "Sasha and Sir Plutarch's fabulous Rmventure!" you'll play as a girl named Sasha whom, accompanied by her talking rat Sir Plutarch, wants to make an RM game. The thing is, she needs to find a team in order to pull off the aa+ title she dreams of. To form that team you'll have to solve some simple puzzles and use items in typical adventure game fashion as you explore a small city.

I'm eagerly awaiting opinions!

200 downloads and man, what a year!

And it all started with this game. Well, to be fair it all started with The messenger and the cursed one.
I had entered RMW's birthday game jam and for the first time I was actually making an effort in progressing and finishing a game. And I was having the time of my life doing it! Sadly that project wouldn't be finished in time and remains in the backburner even to this day.
But instead, as a spur of the moment, Sasha and Sir Plutarch was conceived, planned and developed in the span of three days to make it to the event's deadline. It would become my first finished game. What a thrill that was, the uncertainty, the fear, the self doubt, but also the enormous pride. I never felt anything like it before, Sasha's little story had turned my world upside down. And then came the appreciation for it, and I couldn't be happier.
I had discovered game making's true joy and from that day on, I haven't looked back. A lot of things became less relevant. Also a lot changed within me and around me, both game making related and otherwise. But I believe these changes are for the better.
So, what happened this year?

The messenger and the cursed one

The game that started it all. Fond doesn't even begin to describe my feelings for this game and one day I hope to see Riev and Gia's message delivering quest to completion!

Sasha and Sir Plutarch's Fabulous Rmventure!

You probably know this one. The journey of a girl to make a game. Filled with funnies and charm. I'm amazed at what I was able to accomplish, and thought that maybe I couldn't do it again.

Vildegarf's Tower

One that stayed mostly in concept, Vildegarf's tower would have told the story of a wacky group of adventurer trying to steal a tower from an allegedly evil wizard.

Forest at the edge of the world

The misadventures of a villain turned hero, victim of circunstances were very fun to create and it's definitely another one on my "to-finish" list. I hope to return to this world (which is the same as the one on "The messenger...", by the way) soon.

Underground

A rethread of one of my very first attempts with the program, Underground is another game I left behind along the way, but one that was a great learning experience. This dungeon crawler stayed with me as you'll come to see.

A librarian's tale

An idea I always had, making an action game centered around a non combat character. This joint effort to make a strategy game with Shiggy was apparently not meant to be, and so Estelle's tale remains untold.

Missing pendant

The game that we ended up making with Shiggy (in less than 24 hours no less!)and won us the first spot in the Duo Dev contest was a cute character study like story about the romance between a couple of star crossed teens. Suffice to say that the time constraints made this development extremely exhilarating.

Chamomille elixir

What might be called the black sheep of the family, Chamomille elixir is a return to the cute formula of Sasha's tale this time in the form of a halloween tale. With cameo appearances by Sir Plutarch and Joachim from the aforementioned game, the comedy was not enough to savage the wonky evented minigames the game was centered about and landed it square in last place at the indie by night contest. It was a learning experience, nonetheless.

Pathway: desire

Probably my best made game. I took a leap of faith with this one and took a halfway made tileset of old and turned it into a full fledged game. The results are nothing sort of astonishing (especially for me!). This was truly a dungeon crawler to remember.

The last human

Currently in development, The last human is the fusion of the gameplay mechanics of "underground" with a new core story and game world. Once again, taking a big risk with this one. Let's hope it pays off!

And that concludes (for now) what has been one of the more exciting years in my life. Thank you rpg maker, thank you friends of the comunity. None of this could have happened without you. Let's hope for another great year!

That sounds fun! I'll look over this. Altho with the influx of event games and a few I wanted to look over, it may take a little while until I do

No worries, check it when you can! Thanks for noticing it!
