A really incredible Rmventure!

"Sasha and Sir Plutarch's fabulous Rmventure!" is an adventure game about an adventure game! Yes, the protagonist is Sasha that is joined by a talking rat, Sir Plutarch (see, it's all on the title!) to complete one of the most epic quest ever: creating am rpgmaker game! Or, better, creating the best rpgmaker game ever, named "Endless Fantasy: the Final Stand". Uhmmm sounds familiar!

Sasha and Sir Plutarch was conceived, planned and developed in the span of three days to make it to the event's deadline, and considering that this is a short but complete adventure. Yes, and adventure game, not an rpg, a survival horror or an action game! An adventure game like Monkey Island or Day of the Tentacle, just made with Rpgmaker!

Sorry, dad, you said WHAT?

Sasha cannot make the game alone... ok, she has Sir Plutarch, but he's just a rat, she needs a programmer, a musician and an artist, and she already knows where she can find them, the problem is recruiting these people! So her mission is to find these three individuals and complete some quest to make them join her developer team and create a great ga... no, the greatest game ever!

Sasha lives in a small town but it will be necessary to explore it all: expect to look for items, characters and complete many tasks that includes choosing the right lines and solving a simple riddle! It's a linear game, but like any other adventure game there is only one solution, but in many occasions the fun part is also from choosing the wrong options! There are also some extra/optional interactions and optional choices that aren't necessary to end the game, but I am happy that these are present: the game would have been boring if limited to a raiload from start to finish withot these extra bits and hidden things and details. Why? Because they are FUN!

Yeah! We god the musician in our team! Time to find the other two!

The game is fun, has many amusing dialogues (and few typos, I only noticed "didin't"), and the difficulty is pretty low, if you have any doubt, just look around, interact with everything and choose every option until you find the right one! There's no way to screw things or to risk a Game over screen, from what I experienced. Game is solid and fun, like a classic adventure game should be.

I liked a lot the graphics: there are no animations besides the protagonists walk, but the world is believable, cute and looks unique! No classic RTPs, they come from Old School Modern pack, that I think that is rarely used and it's a pity since we need more games with moder setting! Anyway these are also used well, locations are of the right size and believable, there are about five maps for the city plus the interiors, for a total of elevel maps only. Despite this the game takes about one hour to complete, so it's ok considering also the short time in which it was made.
I praised the graphics, but music is pretty good too! It has a nice retro feel and it's not your typical final fantasy soundtrack!

Oh you deserve staying in jail, then!

Final Verdict
"Sasha and Sir Plutarch's fabulous Rmventure!" is a cute game, and an enjoyable adventure. I admit that most interactions are pretty logical, except maybe the one with the smelly clerk where I tried for twenty minutes to buy a deodorant at the shop (since these are mentioned) ... but that was NOT the correct solution, even if it was probably the most logical!
Anyway the game is pretty cool, most of the humor comes with the exchange between Sasha and Sir Plutarch, and yeah, it's a likeable duo, my only complaint is that the games ends too early, anyway it's very good.

But as good as the game that Sasha wanted to create? Well try it, and see by yourself!
