Story: (Quick Spoiler free)

A new race of beings, Gin, have found themselves in the center of conspiracy, intrigue, and war. Civil war between the Imperial Army and the Rederick Army has split the country into two warring factions. A small fishing village located in the middle neutral territory that has yet to feel the affects of the war, this will soon change, and this is where the story begins!

The main characters of the game are Antonio and Shinata, two Gin who are strangers to one another. Antonio fled his village after they discovered he was a Gin to protect the people that he loved. Antonio only wishes to find answers, why does the world hunt and kill Gin? Is there anywhere in the world where Gin can be safe? Shinata has a completely different upbringing than Antonio. She was raised under the watchful eye of her entire village. At the age of 5 Shinata began training to be a warrior. For what? Shinata is not sure, however, that did not stop her father from implementing a rigorous daily training regime. The story begins when their paths cross. Unique Battle System
The battle system is a blend of traditional and modern battle systems. Mainly CTB, Charge Turn Based battle system, where you utilize strategy in order to control the flow of battle!
Highly customizable! For example, you may alter the way each character earns SP needed for special attacks which adds further strategy and depth (SP mode changes found under skills menu). And much more!

Unique Leveling System
The leveling system is a blend of traditional and modern leveling systems. Not only do you get stronger and learn new skills as you level up, you can also customize your character further by choosing which skills to learn. Whoa! Dude, you need to download MVStripper! Do something about that file size!
Hello Pinaotm,

I did! I used it! The new version of the engine already has it built in! I also went through the process of stripping the game myself. 250mg is music alone! Even after I use a program to lower bitrate, etc. Aprox. (150mg is graphics). I am going to clean it all up soon. I will make lowering the size of the game top priority going forward.
Suggestion:
Why not make a sole download-version for every platform?
I think the size would be smaller when dividing the Mac and PC version of this demo.

pianotm is right, BUT, the little I did get to play of your game last night, and I was up till 2am playing, was great.
Did not get to far killing things cause' I was so busy running around town finding all the goodies :)

The systems in the game are a little hard to understand, but it's been a while since I've played anything with so many upgrades and magic things to create :)
Hello @Linkis,

I do not believe the engine packages both together, they are already separate when you deploy the game. I hope I am wrong lol I do wish to minimize the file size as much as possible. This will take top priority going forward.

lol Thanks so much. I am happy you are enjoying the game. Are you checking the bookcases in the game? They have books that explain some of the systems. Do you have any suggestions that would help in this area? I would love to implement them if you do. I am all ears! Enjoy the game and let me know what you think. I do have an official web page for the game www.killergin.com. Thanks!
Another suggestion:
The monsters are killing me - I'm not sure if enemies with the same or higher level and in groups of 4+ are good foes for two characters.
I can't do much outside the village because the "normal" monsters are even stronger than me.
Perhaps a increasing strengh of monsters based on distance/sidequest/special locations may be better.
Don't know how to explain it better.
All skills need SP and have a CD of min. 3. Dual and double attack have both a CD of 5 and you can only use dual or double attack.
The basic heal skill mend of Shinata should use MP without CD.
Why can't I save on the world map?

Hello Firefly84,

Oh yeah? Did you take your time and loot the village before you left? I believe if you do a quick sweep of the village, and you equip what you find, you will be well prepared for the battles ahead. Also try to stay close to the village before you go out further... the further you travel from the village the tougher the enemies become.

With that said, I may have to check the stats of a few of the troops in the beginning of the game.

Saving is only enabled everywhere on the mobile versions. On the PC and MAC version you must return to a save spot.

Saving is only enabled everywhere on the mobile versions. On the PC and MAC version you must return to a save spot.

I did loot the village before leaving and have already learned lock picking and gems (Novice), found 4 chicken, searched 5-6 times for the child and are now level 7. But even some steps from the village you encounter 4 or more rats with level 9 for example. (Equipment is with alu or iron)
Save points at the beginning of a location like the mines would be good because the only save point for now is in the village.
I really would like to do more things before listening at the chamber hall again.
hello Firefly!

Thanks for the feedback! Noted! Are the rats the only enemies giving you problems? Giant rats or regular rats? I will make the appropriate adjustments.

You do not have to listen in at the council hall again after you run into Gordo.

There are a few things you can do. You can do the werewolf quest, vampire quest (just the beginning), orc quest, main quest, and check out the infinity dungeon. You run into any of these quests?
The rats are only an example - the other enemies are as strong as the rats.
I startet the werewolf and goblin quest but the enemies and the lack of save points just make it impossible.
Hello Firefly,

Really? Thats unfortunate. I just added enemy levels to the game and I am guessing from you posts they are making the game a little too difficult. Thanks for the feed back and I will work on balancing the game.

PS. You do know that you don't have to kill the goblins right?

edit:

@firefly84

I will be uploading a new version of Killer Gin tonight due to player feedback! Updates include:

Making the game easier! (The beginning is a little too hard. Sorry guys!)
Update to chicken vengeance (Much better now, if you don't know, get to know!)
Optimizations to a couple maps
Controller support for PC and Mac!
So please bear with me. Thanks again for your feedback and support!
With some stuff out of the way, I am deciding between yours or dreamie's games.

It's kool to see this got so much feedback already, and just as cool to see you handle it well and updated straight away (that's pretty impressive!), so I may just bump this up the list and add to it~
See, friendly fellas are just awesome.

EDIT: I'm just giving this a quick spin before leaving the actual gameplay for later, so just some comments focused around that edited in while playing.

Seems the line with "they are unexpectedly Gin" pops up three tiems in a row with little variation. That seems Odd.
As well as the line "Anotonia is shocked to hear that Shinata is Gin. Interesting". There was some narration outside the characters which is unusual, but perfectly okay, but this seems like a mix of both. We noticed he was shocked, the character need not repeat that since it was already shown. Instead, the conclusion with "interesting" would more logically be something like "So she didn't know that Shinata is a Gin. Interesting".
It's just a small difference, but makes it feel much more natural. And avoid the reptition of Gin in every sentence at the same time.

There's a typo Nurock speaking "what did you did" which should be "what you did back there"

Infected? What are we talking about .. so zombies after all, lol

Antonio's line of "where Nurock(and Shinata) go, I will follow" seems really off style-wise. Not to mention .. is he thinking that? It's odd to have thoughts and speech in the same box without any separation. Usually a different color, or italics, and a separate text box is used to avoid muddling it together. Can be quite confusing.
A where Nurock goes .. or they go would look better.

Similarily, it makes for better text flow if one train of thought is kept to one text box. Antonio answers to multiple questions in one text box. Mainly as to how he was just captured by the army. The added comment of him not knowing how to pull off any fancy special moves would be better in a second box.
There's no need to fill those boxes. They are great enhancing the flow of speech to a more natural natural level and letting line of thought after line of thought out. It's also part of why visual novels usually are kept to and feel much closer to the main character than standard novels do. They are usually a little reduced in outside descriptions and other things in return, of course. They tend to feel a lil lighter and mostly easy to read.

So the sleep is narrated - it would be nicely if the sleep animation would kick in while you read. It seems odd afterwards. A sound making the transition clear would also help as time has passed and sleep/waking happened.

Not sure if it's me and having too much stuff open in the background, but opening the menu takes a few seconds and seems less responsive. Seems to use up a lot. Not sure if that is a thing MV tends to do, or if it is affected by the seemingly large map (also, minimap YAY!)

Keyboard controls seem to work just fine so far? But the mouse IS very responsive.

There's a LOT of stuff lying around out in the open, wow. Hmm. I know it's harder to do for resources, but generally having some bigger patterns and shapes in there, forming a little bit of a protective circle would probably make it more attractive to explore and seem more natural.
Unless it's randomly created chests n stuff in play, in which case it'd be a necessary evil to deal with I suppose.

Aaaand .. I'll continue later. I'm mighty tired.
I know I didn't play much just yet.
Thanks Kylaila!

Why not try them all? I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised with the potential behind Killer Gin.

Killer Gin is here to stay! And I am just getting started! Killer gin will go from a caterpillar to a butterfly. This game will constantly improve and update and I would love your feedback and support. When ever you get around to it, let me know. Until then, have a great weekend!

Have you fixed it so you can use your last save on the
newer version ???

With so many things to do AND find, it would be nice if you did
not have to repeat everything....
lol Well you can always try copying your save and just pasting it in the new version lol. That should work. However I added so much new stuff, gave the players more items, new items and skills never before created, starting over from the beginning for the gear(over 15 new pieces, plus unlocked all the weapons)/items/skills (12+ new) is well worth it.
This game is interesting.Tons of stuff to do.Always nice.
But i think i wait some time because you works and upddate alot.
Good work,i think this has potential.
Keep up the good work.Youre doing well.
@Kenlan, Hello! Well this is petty much where I will be keeping the game for a little while since its a pretty solid build! Thanks. Did you play one of the old versions? Or do you think this has potential just because of the game guide?
