Come on, let's go...

... to the Tower's Top
Well, this is a game made some years ago for the event "swap in the middle with you" made by Someoneman and finished by Unity.
As usual, TheRpgmakerAddict arrives late to play and review this game but... let's say this was a pleasant surprise. Anyway time to start with...

Great treasures are found inside the tower
The game is mainly divided into two halves: the first is a sort of (easy) adventure games in which you have to search for some items and combine them.
The second half is instead a (easy) classical dungeon crawling with lot of combat in which you have to exploit the elemental weaknesses of the opponents. The bosses are also quite strong, but the game is never too hard, and I find this to be a really good thing.

Combat in TTTT is the classical side view battleground with nice animated battlers. I like how each character is useful: the main character has the power of thunder and some drain life abilities, the female character is able to use a couple of elemental attacks that hits every opponent. They both are quite skilled combatants, while the third, the fairy, is less useful in combat, except for the ice attack and her exclusive healing and regenerative abilities. Luckily there are no random encounters, opponents are always found and can be avoided, and remember that they respawn when you exit and re-enter a room.

Oh the game is small and short, and all set in the tower: mapping is simple but well done and I liked some ideas, like some parts of the map that are set outside the tower, on some external catwalks. And I also liked the use of pastel tinted colours and chipsets, as they are not the usual ones that everybody uses, and they also contribuites to the lighthearted setting.

Speaking of lighthearted setting, there are few npcs in TTTT, but they are nice, especially the mimic trader (that will provide the typical consumables and better weapons and armors, different from each hero), that is usually available near the healing crystals. Oh and you can also save anywhere, so I can assure that this is an easy game, but entertaining, complete and well done!

Oh, as usual I won't spoil the story: as expected is short and linear, but has a couple of twists, that are welcomed, due to the shortness of the adventure. So yes, it's the usual "let's join, kick some demon ass and save the world", but still there's a cercain charm in the protagonists and in the story, their exchanges are not many but well done, and dialogues are perfect as they are (the never drag too long, they are clear and I did not find typos... well, I think there aren't!).

Well, surely something bad! Isn't it?

But there are some bad things inside this tower
Of course there are some things I did not like! But probably these are my personal tastes (so these to me are just little imperfections, and there are no big flaws), and one is about the enemy sprites: while I like them because they are original and cute, I think that they are too bug and they should have been made smaller (50%, not more), since they are not very detailed, they would have looked better. But yes, the use of original assets is always a good thing.
Also...the music and sounds are ok, nothing bad, but nothing memorable, and there are too many statues! Aha, no really there are few things I can complain here. It's a simple game so I cannot expect more, but it does really well what's expected from a short dungeon delving... ok it's a tower, a vertical dungeon!

Finally reaching the tower top!
... and the end of the review! TTTT is a nice game that has a distinct charm because it mixes some tropes and old classical features with original ideas and assets. It's clearly a little game, but a fun one, easy and pleasant even if those who are not hardcore jrpg players. In fact I'd probably recommend it to those who are playing their first Rpgmaker games. Oh well that's not to say that experienced players won't have a nice time: bosses, especially the final one, are quite tough, and sometimes you will need to grind just a bit.

And do not forget that TTTT is a game made by two makers (and it's clearly not so easy to combine two different styles and ideas), so yes, that's a great ob as the different parts merge perfectly, creating a not really original, but very stylish adventure...
4 out of 5 for me!

Wow, thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed the game! :D I agree with pretty much all of your critisisms, and there are too many statues because I ran out of time to make more background objects so I just overused the statues ^^;;

Thanks again for the review! :DDDDD Hopefully Someoneman will return so he can see it too!

Well I always like the classic rmk2003 games. These are my favourites. The statues thing was a joke..even if I posted a pic of one of those statue filled rooms! :)
