Wow this sounds and looks awesome, GRS! I am very honored to have such a humble and experienced developer/programming wizard giving on-board on my silly lil' gam. I really look forward to see where you'll take the game.

EDIT: I think I spotted a small typo from the description: "Cherry and...". I'm not sure if the name has changed, but Cherry's still a pretty cute and similar name. It was on my mind at first, but I thought that Candy sounded more "ghetto".
WHAT CHERRY THERE'S NO CHERRY IN THIS GAME IT WAS ALWAYS CANDY

(now I'm gonna have to go back and make sure I didn't fuck that up in the game)

e: now I'm gonna have to make the second healing item Cherry Vodka or something as a symbol of my shame
unity
You're magical to me.

This looks fun ^_^
Cherry Cola? xD "Nah, that hit's for pussies." - Tequila. Maybe Tequila is just kind of stupid/drunk and forgot the name of her daughter. x'D
All HP healing items have to contain alcohol! I even made the elixir of this game Everclear! Cherry Cola can heal bullets mp or something
Haha, that's so awesome, man! I can't wait.

I guess everything will be a big surprise (for all of us).
The game is actually unplayable for me. Once I step outside to the world map, I can't move anywhere but back to Tequila's Home. Pass-ability error in the Tileset tab? :S

EDIT: Just finished and it was pretty fun! The ending was quite a surprise and
the kazoo part was the shit! Best ending ever!

The maps you added were pretty epic, even if they had some passability errors. Music was great and suited the atmosphere of an intense mail delivery. I like what you did with the sword too! Combat was kind of button mash, since I could kill all enemies (even bosses) before they could make a move. xD Overall, I think you did a good job on this!

Since the ending was very different from what I had in mind, I'm thinking about adding an alternative/bonus ending after the event's done.
oh shit, time for last second reupload!

I noticed a passability bug with the forest and changed the road to be impassible at the same time. I quickly fixed that and removed my super hp cut debug script.

I'm going to try and do some balancing tonight (and try to trim down the animations file size) and any other bugs I know I left in. It won't be the official event version but it might be a bit more interesting to play than 'chew on keyboard' and 'play in testmode to get to the first area'.
The chests in the forest need some updates as well (you'll see what I mean). I could actually forge the best sword as well, without having the right ingredients. xD

Also, some item and skill descriptions have cut-off text and a few text errors.
I'm betting it all on the kazoos because I clearly put zilch on polish!

e: I looked at the sword bug and it does check that you have the items, it just never takes away the Superior Ore when you get the first sword upgrade. And considering that you have an Everclear from the boss you just fought it's real easy to slingshot ahead! :D
Most of the combat issues resolve around the enemies' HP; they die before they even get to do something. xD Some enemies could pack a bit of a punch though, which I of course liked.

Also, didn't you kind of jump in near the end of the event? I think you managed to get a lot of things going in the short time span you had. I really liked how smooth you made the animation of the encounters after they've been beaten. Props to that, Papyrus. ^^

Just finished this game. It was great! I liked how this game actually uses touch encounters intelligently and the graphical effects were a nice touch. The red tint during battle was kind of distracting, but overall I enjoyed it, especially the ending. :P
I joined on the 9th to cover for somebody else who dropped so I missed an effective half week or so (and I was busy for most of that weekend too).

I'm glad y'all enjoyed the ending! It wasn't much but kazoos owns.

I will have to make skeleton bards that play the kazoo in a future game of mine

Yeah, I definitely agree about the battles being sort of hard to see in the Dankalong Caverns.

@GRS: You really did a good job!

About the skeleton bards...

Also, you spelled me and Liberty's names wrong in the credits. xD

Can't say I'm surprised, that was about the third last thing I did in a huge frenzy to have it done and submitted (before one quick playthrough to test that it was beatable from start to finish, where I found that the player could walk through the forest which caused the bug where you can't walk on the starting path, and before I cut the start of the credits song because the credits were way too short for how long it takes for the song to get going properly). I'll make sure to fix it while trying to sort the rest out.

I did notice that it's really hard to see anything in battle but I have no idea where that's set or where to remove it luiishu added that and I didn't want to remove it!
I think the map tint continuing to the battle screen is set by default in Ace. I'm not sure though, since I'm so used to VX using a script for that. :/ I was going to add custom battlebacks, but I didn't have time to do it. I will probably add those into Letter From Hell: 18+ Edition (or whatever I'm going to call it). xD

Also, do you know anything about CSS? I'd love to spice this page up a little. My idea was to have all of the skins transparents, while using this as a background:

Text should probably be red as well to fit the hellish theme. Do you think you can hook something like that up, GRS? If it's not too much to ask, of course. :3
Sure I can do that, but red background on transparent frame background on red text won't be very legible! I'll experiment a bit when I'm done with the bug fixes and balancing the later game enemies (and giving the final boss something to do, I had a total blank on designing him)
