"Mega Man X RPG" is a classic, turn-based RPG. Along with the standards of the genre (level-ups, strategic turn-based fights, and so on) players will be able to enjoy a multitude of choice-based features that enhance gameplay and provide a lengthy, unique playthrough.

UPGRADE CHIPS:

As is standard in the genre, the player will be able to level-up X to increase his combat effectiveness. Unlike most standard RPG's, however, the only natural reward for leveling-up X is more Weapon Points (or WP). So, back at the Home Base, X will be able to install an Upgrade Chip every time he levels-up. These act almost identically to the armor upgrades players find in the core Capcom Mega Man X games. There are 4 Upgrade Chips and the maximum level X can reach in the game is 5, so the player will be able to obtain all 4 in a playthrough of the game. The order in which each is obtained, though, is up to the player to decide. This could potentially change the entire flow of the game, depending on which chips the player chooses to acquire earlier in the game rather than later. For example, if the player chooses the Buster Chip first, his base damage will increase, making earlier levels and enemies a bit easier to contend with. Below are descriptions of each Upgrade Chips benefits:

HELMET CHIP:
- Allows X to scan enemies in battle to see their HP, weaknesses, etc.
- Plus...?

BUSTER CHIP:
- Increases the base damage of X's buster.

BODY CHIP:
- Gives X access to the Giga Attack once per stage, once per life.
- Plus...?

BOOT CHIP:
- Increases X's base Speed, allowing him to act sooner in combat.
- Plus...?

Some of the Upgrade Chips do more than one thing. Try out the game to find out what those additional features are!

ADDONS:

Due to the unfortunate circumstances that have befallen X in the game's plot, X is not quite what he used to be. Because his circuits have been permanently damaged, he must rely on Addons to help give him an edge in combat. These Addons stall X's systems, though, since they are external modifications that change the way he operates. In other words, if X uses an Addon Weapon or Skill in combat, his Speed suffers until his next action. Below are some of the Addon's X can obtain:

1) Power Shot
- Does heavy damage to a single enemy. Stalls X.

2) Nano-Repair
- Heals X by 1 HP for every action taken in battle.

3) Siphon Buster
- Replaces X's regular buster. The standard shots now absorb enemy HP, but the buster stalls X.

WEAPON PROGRAM SYSTEM:

X's signature ability makes a return in this game! When X defeats a boss maverick, he will absorb their data to install a brand-new Weapon Program. This is the Weapon Program System, and it allows every player's version of X to be completely unique.

Whenever the player defeats a boss maverick, they can choose from either 2 or 3 different abilities for X to permanently learn. These abilities can be new attacks for use in combat, a special skill to use on the map, or a combat-specific buff or debuff. Since there are a whopping 18 stages in the game, each with their own maverick boss, and each of those bosses having at least 2 different options for Weapon Programs, it's easy to see just how many different abilities X can obtain! Want to breeze through the stages and bosses? Pick the strong, offense-based Weapon Programs! Want a more unique playthrough? Select all the field-based Weapon Programs or non-damaging ones to make your trek through the game feel completely different than it did before! Below are some of the different Weapon Programs X will be able to obtain:

1) Rolling Cutter (WP COST - 10)
Blade-Type Weapon
Throws a dangerous, spinning blade at "1" foe, dealing "Blade" type damage. Obtained from Cut Man.

2) Venom Dart (WP COST - 7)
Status Weapon
Shoots a tiny dart at "1" foe that installs an HP-damaging virus onto it's target. Obtained from Shadow Man.

3) High-Pressure Shot (WP COST - 7)
Water-Type Weapon
Fires an extremely pressurized jet of water at "1" foe that pierces their defenses to deal "Water" type damage to them. Obtained from Wave Man.

4) Super Arm (WP COST - 10)
Field Weapon
Allows X to push large, heavy blocks on the field out of the way in order to gain access to new locations or paths. Obtained from Guts Man.

5) Missile Strike (WP COST - 15)
Bomb-Type Weapon
A barrage of scud missiles rain down on "all" foes. Each missile has questionable accuracy, but deals excellent "Bomb" type damage. Obtained from Napalm Man.

There are many, many more Weapon Programs to obtain. Try out the game to discover them all!

HIDDEN STAGES:

At some point in the game, X will gain the ability to search for hidden locations on the Overworld. This will allow him to gain access to many different Hidden Stages. These Hidden Stages are much more concise than the normal stages, but they contain special items and other upgrades that improve X's abilities, among other things. Their coordinates and rewards will not be detailed here, but do your best to locate them all!
