It definitely has a different art style, the black outlines are what caught my eye the most
This is my type of scene. Giving RPG Maker the giant middle finger and forcing it to do what you want. Beautiful.
As for it standing out, I agree. But in this case I'd say the trade-off is well worth it. The only solution I can think of is to have 100% of the graphic assets made by a single person. And take it from me that adds years to your release date.

I dunno, this is an average town and that's a high-tech war machine. Obviously it would stand out and visually doesn't blend in with the town since it's something that's not usually there. Not to mention, they would keep the war machine clean and polished on a regular basis compared to a town building's every now and then. There's also the matter of how one is made of stone and the other metal.

I think the war machine does belong actually. Reminds me of FF VI to some degrees where you'd have your simple towns, and then you'd have places like Figaro Castle and Vector, which are completely different in terms of tone and technology. Or take FF IV, where you've got the medieval towns and then the advanced technology of Tower of Zot or Babil.
I think a death machine like that should stand out, and if it's got a different art style so be it, the machine itself looks great, and I'd rather not have to wait years for this game to get done with all the art done by a single person. =)
