Vote for your favorite characters!

Hello everyone,

We've created this survey to gather your feedback on the characters featured in Heroes of Shaola and Mysteries of Shaola: The Cave.

It doesn't have to be your favorite heroes/protagonists. It could be your most memorable villains/antagonists, characters you find interesting and would like to know more about, or someone you hope to see more of in upcoming releases.

This can help us to make better design choices regarding the characters and stories of the upcoming games.

Elves, one of the four main races in Shaola

In Shaola, most non-humans have been wiped out by Men’s kingdoms and the Human Supremacy Alliance (HSA). The only surviving humanoid races are Elves, Dwarves, and Orcs.

Elves are well known for their grace and mastery of magic and weapons such as the sword and bow. They are famously long-lived, with much longer lifespans than the average human.

Slightly smaller and shorter than most humans, Elves tend to be slender and graceful. This is reflected in a bonus to Agility and a penalty to Physical Defense.

Elves are divided into two distinct groups: Wood Elves and High Elves.

Wood Elves are a reclusive race, partial to the old ways of life in the green world. They are conservatives who prefer old habitats in the woods, where they hide from Men and the HSA. Trees and flowers are their friends and wild beasts are their main source of food.

Wood Elves have produced some of the finest hunters and archers.

High Elves were once Wood Elves. However, as liberals, they eventually decided to live in cities with Men. They interact much more with other races and are the most open and friendly of their kind. They believe in peaceful coexistence.

High Elves travel everywhere, while most Wood Elves stay in the woods.

The decision of the High Elves’ ancestors to leave the green world for the shiny world of Men has always been controversial.

Some of them found success and happiness in serving humans, including in the Imperial Courts, and having great careers as bounty hunters or mercenaries. However, others have been miserable, suffering from depression and enduring unemployment and hunger. Some have sold themselves to slave owners in the Martia Kingdom. Others have been forced into slavery there.

High Elves have produced some of the most skilled swordsmen in the land.

Elves generally speak and write Ryllavian. However, Wood Elves use the original written form, while High Elves use a simplified version.

As a whole, Elves are the largest minority race in Shaola.

Orcs, one of the four main races in Shaola

In Shaola, most non-humans have been wiped out by Men's kingdoms and the Human Supremacy Alliance. The only surviving major races are Orcs, Elves, and Dwarves.

Orcs are one of the largest races of humanoid creatures. Each clan is composed of a large group of mindless brutal creatures who strive to burn and destroy for fun.

They are a brutish, aggressive, repulsive, and generally malevolent species and are usually pressed into the service of evil powers. Given that they are tall, big, and strong, Orcs are used as soldiers, slaves, and henchmen by greater villains.

They are miserable beings, hating everyone, including themselves and their masters, whom they serve out of fear. Orcs make no positive things; rather, they create devices to hurt and destroy.

Orcs, as well as ogres, trolls, and other goblins, have no languages of their own. They can't read nor write and must mimic Men's Common Tongue for communication.

Most of the Orcish clans are led by Murlock the Slaughterer, a brutal and cunning leader who is also the strongest Orc fighter of all time.

Murlock claimed to unite all Orcs and fight for their freedom. He called for fellow Orcs to rebel and kill their masters. However, he has even bigger ambitions, vowing to unite all minorities (Orcs, Elves, Dwarves, and other beasts and monsters) and to declare war against the kingdoms of Men.

Murlock and the majority of Orcs reside in the North.

Development update on the Shaola series. Also, two new trailers!

Hey everyone, it's been a long 2020! I thought now would be a good time for a development update since it's a brand new year and it's been awhile.

We all know 2020 was a tough year. We were hit with setbacks and development was stalled, but it's a brand new year and we're coming back in full force!

We're currently working on Mysteries of Shaola: The Cave. It is a new chronicle of Shaola where you become Ice of Zuda Kingdom, the legendary investigator, one of the Magnificent Five. You fight through Kazen Kingdom and uncover the truth of the mysterious cave, discover dirty secrets, add to your legend, and ultimately confront the "evil" force. This role-playing game blends the genres of fantasy and mystery.

I have really enjoyed testing the game so far, and if you enjoyed Heroes of Shaola for the characters and story, you'll definitely enjoy this one as well.

Also, as I'm making trailers for the new game, I made two for Heroes of Shaola as well. I hope you enjoy watching them.
