Welcome to the continent of Vestoria. It's a nice place where modern technology somehow coexists with medieval weapons and government. The name's Leif, and I'll be your guide for today.

So, how does this story of mine start? Well, it all started with a simple mercenary contract. Was it a trap? Probably not. Did it trap me and my friends in prison? You bet your ass it did. So naturally, I broke out. And saved my friends. And found reasons as to why we were jailed. It's a nice story, if I do say so myself. Pfft, story? This isn't a story! Well, it is. It's basically my claim to fame. I'll step off my soapbox, before I start ranting.

SAVE YOUR FRIENDS-FIND ANSWERS-SAVE THE WORLD
Take the role of Leif, a young, sarcastic mercenary as he fights to save his friends from prison and overthrow the tyrant king of Dornwich, who imprisoned them.

Characters
Protagonists
Leif

Leif's a 15 year old mercenary that really would rather take a nap than work. He's a sarcastic guy who holds grudges for as long as possible. He lost both of his parents when he was 10 when they literally killed each other. He wasn't shaken up that much by their deaths, and grew into a well adjusted young man despite the hardships of living as a homeless minor in a kingdom that didn't have much homeless shelters. He cares mostly for himself and his friends, and would do anything to keep them safe.

Holly

Holly's a 14 year old mage in training who's always kind to everyone she meets. Well, almost everyone. Just like Leif, she cares deeply for her friends and would kill to save her friends from danger. Holly was Leif's first true friend who didn't try to rob him in the end, and due to that, she's the friend that Leif cares about the most. She occasionally has outbursts of anger that she justifies with the phrase "Sometimes a nice girl needs to unleash some stress!"

Nick

Nick's a 16 year old mercenary, the oldest in the team. He lost both his parents in a house break in when he was 5, and he blames himself for their deaths. To this end, he's extremely depressed and suicidal at times. Hell, when Leif recruits him for that fated mission, he's seen crying in his room. Despite his emotional issues, he's an impressive fighter and packs quite a punch with his axe. Despite his and Leif's backstories being similar, Leif and Nick don't talk much. However, Leif cares about him all the same.

Ava

Ava's a 15 year old mercenary that acts entitled to money. Leif considers her kind of annoying, but a friend all the same. She comes from a wealthy family, but for reasons that she won't tell anyone, she lives in a small house in the capital town of Dornwich. She's a really good archer, and is also very speedy. Under her spoiled girl attitude, she's actually a very caring person, but she desperately tries to hide that fact.

Antagonists
Norikazu

Norikazu is the highest Imperial Knight of Dornwich. He follows his king's orders, even if said orders are to kill a 15 year old for potential knowledge of the plan to take over Vestoria. Otherwise, he's a pretty nice guy.

King Richard

Richard is the king of the kingdom of Dornwich. He was brought to the throne a year before the events of the plot, and was a fairly benevolent ruler until recently, when he took up an odd interest in kittens and began plotting to take over Vestoria.

Version 1.2

So, I really could have done a bit better with this game. Much better. Nowadays, replaying it seems like I made it all too easy, not to mention there's barely any depth to combat other than "slice away until they die, heal sometimes". I plan to fix this, with a little update. It'll add more difficulty, more complex battling, and a little extra gameplay. Stay tuned for more.

Ooo you tricked me into playing. Overrally I enjoyed the game. Especially I liked that choice in castle go for single soldiers or after group with gold.
Load button creates error.
Just one item in house with text buuu.
Undescribed spells and items. But then again I love reading so bad just for me.
Cool suprise battle it did not seem to repeat though.
Sleeping guards need more variation of sleep text lol.

The load button creates an error? That's weird. I'll check that out. I'll make a few other changes as well, in the name of details.

This is just a demo. The full game will be released in about a week, and will have the full story as well as longer gameplay.
The exe of full version download not works.
I just completed your game. Here are some thoughts.

The text at the beginning: Does it have to appear every time the player opens the game?

The title screen should contain an option to shut down the game.

Being arrested strips the party of money and equipment. A clever player reloads his last save, sells surplus weapons and invests all his credits in potions and stimulant. Is this an intentional design choice?

The giant drop in credits and experience points (or, to be precise, the large gap between what the normal and what the rare encounters yield respectively) in the Spooky Cave (i.e. after the first dungeon) is - as well as the switch to random encounters - irritating.

There are police officers in the Woodside police station that utter the exact same lines. The same applies to the Mandelia prison.

After freeing Holly: Why can I enter and roam the police station without any consequences?

There's no opportunity in Woodside to buy status condition remedy even though the spiders in the next "dungeon" can inflict poison.

Why do random encounters occur in settlements (e.g. the city after Woodside)?

Why can't I return after entering the Shrine Forest?

Balancing issues. Example: Spiders and wasps can (and will with a frightening success rate) inflict poison with their normal attacks. Defeating three spiders/wasps yields 120 credits respectively. One dispel herb to cure poison costs 200 credits. This makes the Shrine Forest with its wasps and the ridiculously high encounter rate the hardest part of the entire game. Fortunately, fleeing from battles doesn't seem to be a problem (didn't fail once in my playthrough)

What's the point in letting the queen join the party if there's not a single battle to be fought (all regular battles in this dungeon can be fought before getting the queen)? At least I could unequip her to get her Nanoarmor (shield).

Why is the party attacked by low-level monsters like bats in the Weapon Shrines?

Is there a way to reach the two treasure chests in the Desert Weapon Shrine? I literally checked every map pixel.

Why isn't there a single treasure chest in all the dead ends in the Forest Weapon Shrine?

Lack of equipment. Three or four shields in the entire game? No helmets, no armors, no accessories at all?

If there was an award for the shortest dungeons, this game would be unrivaled.

No skills other than magic that has to be bought/found (except for Holly)

Why aren't there any items to replenish MP (except elixirs)?

If it's not against groups or enemies weak to light, magic is pretty useless.

The combination of real life and fantasy setting destroyed the immersion for me.

(Possible) Bugs:

After having escaped from prison, the arrestment event can be repeated by visiting the king. Albeit this time, Leif can simply walk out of prison as he isn't bothered again by the guard and the Black Knight.

Route 1 shop: If I immediately say "no thanks", the shop keeper replies "Hope to see you again!" twice.

Why does the game offer the player to save if he goes to the toilet in the Route 1 house? The player can already save anywhere.

Dark Dimension:
The commander blocking the right passage doesn't disappear after being defeated, thus permanently denying passage. Of course, it doesn't matter if there's nothing there anyway.

Overall, I wasn't impressed. This game is as basic as it can get. Nevertheless, I'm grateful that this game enabled me to see the RPG Maker MV resources in action for the first time.

Is the game complete? Or is it just a demo? Because the "Completed" status of this project can be misleading. I personally like to review completed games so any word on that would be great.
It took me - an extremely slow player - a little more than 4 hours to complete the game. The game is complete, it just isn't a very long game.
I encountered a bug in the first fort, if you reenter the fort before finishing it you'll be transported inside the walls... I ran out of potions mid-fort and returned to buy some, but I couldn't continue because of this, it's pretty game breaking so I suggest you fix it. Not bad at all for a first impression but i'm not far in at all, so i'll keep my ratings to myself for now.
The debug version has a bug. I already told them to you.
