Born the second child of King Bartel, the Princess has lived a life of luxury and safety. However something inside her soul makes her yearn for more. Bored with the royal life, she daydreams of adventure and excitement.

However, perhaps she should be careful what she wishes for... a rebellion is brewing in the South, hoping to overthrow the King. Her father has sent his greatest general, Lord Pentas, to deal with them. But what are Lord Pentas' ambitions? Can he really be trusted?

It seems that the Princess may need to take matters into her own hands. Choose from one of 8 different classes, with individual skills, and passive abilities.

Chronicles: Fate of a Princess is a traditional style RPG, with a wide cast of side characters (one for each class) that can be added to your party. Each class is designed to play slightly differently, with special abilities that do something more than just 'extra damage'. The available classes are:
- Rogue: Rogues have a variety of attacks which do different damage based on the enemy they are facing. They can also stun enemies, who then take additional damage from the rogue's 'Backstab' attack. Rogues can equip a second weapon in their offhand, allowing them to attack twice per turn.
- Warrior: Warriors are heavily armoured warriors, who can draw the enemy's attention away from their weaker allies. They have a counter attack, and the ability to use all those accumulated TP from damage in a massive 'Revenge' attack.
- Mage: Mages have a vast variety of spells of different elements, each of which has an additional effect on top of just raw damage. They also slowly restore MP over time.
- Priest: Priests are the primary healer class. They can always take a turn off to refresh their MP by praying, assuming they have time to do so. They also have a chance to reflect enemy magic right back at them.
- Ranger: Rangers are the ranged damage dealers. They have the ability to take a turn off to charge a more powerful attack. Bows are more effective against flying enemies.
- Warlock: Warlocks have a lot of spells that weaken the enemy, as well as abilities that deal more damage when the warlock's health is low, or deal damage to enemies and allies alike. They can trade in HP to restore their MP.
- Paladin: Similar to the warrior, paladins are designed to take the brunt of the enemy attacks. However they are more specialised to dealing with magical enemies. They can protect their allies from magical attacks, and have some healing and reviving abilities as well. They restore some health every turn.
- Bards: Bards are the buffing class, and can provide some secondary healing utility. They sometimes get an additional action on a turn.

Played through about an hour of this. Pretty solid RTP game. Good work!
This game is interesting. It's fun to play but... who though it's a good idea to encounter enemies for every five steps? If you could fix this I would play it non-stop instead of take a break for every five or ten minutes.
I'm in the rebel town and facing the torturer with LV 5.
The balancing must be reworked, because the Orc between the castle and first village has a multi-attack (4 hits on one character = death). Especially with a group of more than 3 enemies the battles took too long.
Trying to change formation during the torturer battle won't help, because you can't exit the menu!
One typo: in the description of on class you wrote "proect". Could be the paladin.

I think I buffed the multi-attack at some point (to boost the rogue's power) but I forgot that I also gave the skill to an enemy. I'll take that off.

I can't find the typo. Which description are you talking about? When you are first picking a class at the start?

I'll reduce some of the bigger enemy packs down a bit, I'm also going to drop the encounter rate (and buff EXP gain/item drops to make up for it).

You aren't supposed to be able to remove dead (or otherwise incapacitated) party members from your team, that's probably why it's not letting you close the party change window. I'll try to make that more clear.

Lv5 should be fine to take on the torturer. If you're having trouble, here are some tips:
- Paladin is probably the best tank here, as all of the torturer's attacks are magical, so 'Bless' is very useful.
- Try to kill the Pain Fiends as soon as they pop up. While the bard is at full HP, she will buff you constantly, but if she starts taking damage she will have to take time off to heal herself.
- The torturer gains access to his AOE at 50% health. Use this to gauge when to give up killing the Pain Fiends and just focus the boss.
I've done an update:
- Reduced random encounter rate (increased EXP/Gold/Item drops to compensate)
- Reduced the size of some bigger enemy packs (increased EXP of effected enemies)
- Should now be clearer that you can't remove dead/disabled characters from your team (won't even let you move them)
- Removed multi-attack from the Orc enemy
- Nerfed the dragon monster a bit
- Added an Android version
Is Level 10 really the maximum level in this game?

Kinda surprising. Boss enemies are tough enough, at that level and those stats even the mooks from the beginning of the game still do decent damage to you (even if they're not really a threat unless you just keep faffing about).
Yes, I wanted to make it so that you can't just out-level the challenge. It's definitely possible to beat everything at that level. Are there any bosses in particular that are giving you an issue?
Hi there, I played this game live on Twitch!

Thanks for playing! Glad you liked it (sort of!).
I had a pleasant time with this game; such I rated a 4 (assuming that my review passed this time)
Played through the entire thing! Well done!
Really, this is well-designed in most every aspect, I am impressed.

Why is it that both the Prince and the Princess has green eyes while the King has purple and the Queen blue? How does that work?

loving the item descriptions lol

The main fault that I see with the game is your decision to name-characters-yourself and choose-character-class-at-beginning. The former is a tad odd with a character-centric plot, and being royalty limits you to honorable classes somewhat. The character-class concept was a good idea, but it doesn't sync well with the other things you put in.

Why is the princess not any more powerful then the other party members? Royalty is important; one has to justify their right to rule somehow. I would suggest having dual-classing for the main character, except that might be too much effort to be worthwhile. Instead I feel like she should have a set of fixed abilities in addition to whatever comes with the chosen class; something that makes her stand out from the rest of the party.

...Where is the yellow gem? I could only find red, blue, white.

I'm slightly confused with where I'm supposed to go in Darmton. I've been everywhere there, the church and all, and I'm not sure where to go from there. I try to go over the bridge south and it won't let me.

Unless I've missed something. XD

NEVERMIND! I am such a derp. I missed a whole section.

royalty shouldnt make you inherently better then anyone else, there was a time when royals where trained to be tacticians and warriors, that made them generally excell at it, but it was just a matter of practice and experience, if there are other people who are also trained at a class there is no reason why the princess should be better at it unless she has been at it for longer, so unless the princess is everyones sempai there is no reason why she needs to be better, royalty was passed down to her through birth, wether she aquires the skills to justify it is up to her.
watched lobo play this. It's a really good game! The story is very good, I liked it alot
Love everything about this game! The story, plot and characters was interesting throughout for me, and really enjoyable, and the mechanics and class choice for the Princess was fun.

I think it'd been nice if the Princess could've changed classes, at least by certain events at certain points.

It was a really enjoyable game both from a story perspective and gameplay perspective!
