Very Simple But More Enjoyable Than Expected

This is a short and simple RPG (around 5 hours) that is mostly RTP as far as I can tell. It has a very basic design and simple mechanics, with nothing special and at the same time nothing bad.

The game starts with you choosing 1 class, and then you'll eventually be joined by 1 character from each of the classes, for a total of about 8. Overall the game's difficulty is reasonable, although not easy. But the beginning can be dreary if you pick a weak starting class, because the random enemies take a lot of hits to kill. Luckily, your HP and MP are completely automatically restored after battle, and the encounter rate is not too high. Once you get past the beginning and get used to the different classes, the battles do become more reasonable and fairly enjoyable.

The pace of this game can be described as very quick and crisp. The story moves along very quickly, and although there's not too much character-centric things going on, the story is just good enough to keep you going. The story with the main characters did get a little better than I expected at first. Some of the extra characters are kind of charming, but not too relevant to the story. You can learn a bit more about your teammates by talking to them, but it's highly optional. The dungeons are pretty small and there's not much to do, but I think it seems to be fine for the tone and quick pace of this game.

Overall, this is a very decent game. At the same time there's nothing special going on here too. There's nothing I can point at and say this had a lot of heart or effort put into it. The game is just kind of average in all aspects, but everything feels very clean and competent, so the game ends up being reasonably enjoyable, as a short little game to pass time. It almost feels like this game could be a decent demo game that comes with Rpgmakmer MV, which is a kind of a good thing I guess.
