Over two hundred years ago, the five heroes defeated the god of darkness; Ragnarok, in a climactic struggle for the fate of the world. Banished back to the realm of darkness known as the Abyss, the threat of the evil god had finally been put to rest once and for all...or so they thought.

Umbral Soul follows the story of Ragnarok’s loyal servant, Pandora, who joins her master in a quest to conquer the world and reclaim his lost power. In order to shroud the world in eternal darkness, they will have to find and recruit new allies, build an army of powerful monsters, and raise a force strong enough to crush anyone who dares to oppose them. Heroes, generals and rival overlords all stand against them. Do you have the power to make the world yours?

Pandora
A powerful dark sorceress with the ability to call forth monsters from the Abyss and enslave them to her will. Her burning hatred for the world and its people leads her to follow Ragnarok with unwavering loyalty.

Ragnarok
The god of darkness, who seeks dominion over the human realm. Once an extremely powerful being in the form of a monstrous demon, he has now been reduced to a mere soul. He wishes to plunge the entirety of the human realm into darkness, in part out of spite for his counterpart; the goddess of light, Lumielle.

Lanith
Beautiful, deadly, and self absorbed to a tee, Lanith is a succubus with a never ending hunger for the lifeforce of men. Having served under Pandora since she was only a child, she has a knack for getting under her skin, and does so whenever the opportunity arises.

Damien
A deeply twisted and sadistic young man, Damien loves nothing more than manipulating others and watching them squirm. While he has kept his true nature a secret, Ragnarok’s uprising marks the perfect opportunity for him to cut loose and have some fun...by killing as many enemies as possible.

Azrielle
The lord of all demons, who is fiercely loyal to Ragnarok and possesses an extreme, seething hatred for humanity. After failing to aid his master in conquering the world the first time, he has no intention of repeating the same mistakes again.

I'm back, baby!

Hey everybody, hope you've been doing well. I'm pleased to say I was just recently discharged from rehab, so at long last after over a month I'm home. They ran a whole lot of tests on me and I had several surgeries, so I am finally no longer in danger of croaking. That means I'm finally free to double down on game development, when I'm not stuck sitting in some doctor's office that is. Thank you all for your well wishes, they went a long way towards improving my mental health through that strenuous time. Welp, that's enough chatter. I've got some game making to do.

golbez- Thanks for yet another detailed bug report. To answer your questions:

-The ll' was indeed intentional.
-The cutscenes play out a little differently depending on who you talk to first, but the only way to get the combination is to either know it beforehand or to get it from Miranda.
-"Clapping" was the intended spelling for Trap Maw, as the flytrap is clapping closed, if that makes sense.

Kind of amazing that I poured over this game so much yet missed these errors. I guess a fresh set of eyes really makes a difference.

guillaume- Did the game actually crash or just give you a game over? Because a bug I've fixed for the next version gives you a game over if Pandora isn't alive after that battle.
I looked it up and I cant find anything on clamping or clapping being used this way. Also, in the scenario The Price of Deception it should be spelled tether not teather. Are you able to do a search for any word and see how many times that word you search for appears in your game.

a pgame over
Hey WheelmanZero, is there a way to get inside Sullivan's manor.
Fear not my friends, for I have solutions for all your problems.

guillaume- Someone brought up that glitch a while ago and it has been repaired fro the next version.

- While the golden ark was indeed the source of the constructs, destroying it will not destroy the constructs it already created. Both the ark and the angel must be defeated to drop the barrier. Plus, if the player found themselves too weak to defeat the final boss, they needed a way to grind up exp.

Abyssal Portal is supposed to be locked for the last segment of the game, but apparently gloom crystal healing removes the sealing state. This glitch has already been corrected fro the next version.

Nah, Sullivan Manor is a sequel exclusive location. It needed to exist in this game so I could use it later. I'm going to write a guide and include it in the next version so everyone knows how to start each sidequest.

Congrats of beating the game! Your bug reports have been absurdly useful and now the next version will be cleaner thanks to you and everyone else who has been kind enough to bring these issues to my attention.

Yygdra- There are a few more ways to get DP. I'll put them under this tag.

-Purchase the Dark Amulet from the item shop in Vallwin, then bring it to Marcus in the Ebony Cauldron.

-Proceeding through the story naturally will get you a lot of DP, particularly the main story quest in Lyria Village.

-Completing the questline started by Sister Claire in Lindale will get you an item you can trade for DP.

-Completing the questline started by the black haired woman in front of the inn in Arcfall will get you another high DP item.

what is the name of the song when ragnarok appear in the colesum
That would be "Battle- Armageddon" from the Rebel Rapture DLC music pack available on Steam. That pack has some jammin' tunes.
Was it possible to beat Athena and not lose 30 mat with Pandora
Nah, that's built into the story. That battle's supposed to be unwinnable.
If I grinded a lot before the fight then fought her when I was many levels higher would I have been able to get her health to zero? That does seem feasible considering before the fight monsters give out over 1k xp, there is a gloom crystal in the room before the fight, and it would only take about 11-13 fights or more to level up each time. Also, your post just popped up for me even though I was up after the time it shows that you made a post which for me it shows you made this post at 5:02 AM.
It was 12:02pm for me, we must be in different time zones. It's possible to win that battle thanks to Pandora's blasted healing spell, but it wasn't mean to be. None of the dialogue changes if you actually do manage to win, though I heard it may cause a glitch if you do. I've modified that battle to make it more clear that you aren't meant to win in the next version.
Being able to get strong enough in a video game where you're at the point that you can just kick their ass is always fun for me.
Edit #2: To clarify for me at 5:02 AM that post didn't pop up. I know because I was on here refreshing the page a few hours after 5:02 AM. Then a few hours later the post popped up for me when it was 11:50 AM my time give or take a few minutes.
Truth be told, grinding up enough that I can crush any foe is one of my favorite aspects of rpg's in general. I like to go above and beyond the level the game expects me to be at, and crush bosses with the sheer magnitude of my overleveledness. To illustrate, my squirtle was a wartortle before I left viridian forest in pokemon blue.
I had pokemon blue as well. I played it so much on my game boy color that whenever I went to rock tunnel, the cave you need flash for, I could go through it without flash. I knew everything in that cave from the trainer positions to how many steps away I was from getting spotted. I didn't even need flash anymore. I also had a level 100 mewtwo that I trained to that high a level using the duplication glitch to fight missingno. I also had pokemon yellow. That game was fun too.
I have beat Athena with Gorgon(LV22) , whose skill(boost critical) is powerful enough to make her damage of the skill(18TP)increase to 1000+ after gain the status from Pandora, and like author say this is no different with story(lost mat) but you still can get experience(7000? I forgot......).

Sorry for my poor english , it's not my language ;_;

May I ask the question about the end of the game whether imply it will have sequel or it mean the cycle of evil and justice.
Read the blog post above (in the game description). The author has mentioned he will make a sequel after he is finished with correcting some lose ends in this game. I hear that the Sequel will be "Luminous Souls".

im stuck with puzzle of music in vampire castle

Here's the solution.

The order of the orbs is shown as follows.

1 2 3 == 4 5 6

Do the following 6 combinations in the following order.

4 3 4 1 4 5
why do you make puzzle i hate it and why there quest to just have monster it link to luminous

I actually liked the music puzzle, probably because I already knew the answer. Getting a summon is a pretty big reward for a quest. It gives you new options to explore in battle, and often times some backstory to flesh out the narrative as well.
Just wanted to say how WONDERFUL your game is! I really loved the history and I actually was thinking about these concepts of "villain's point of view" a few days before I discovered this game. Tough I need to assume that at the very beginning I was like "meh", it surprised me very well. It was just a greeeeat and awesome job, tough i'm not patient enough to unlock some of the things I didn't noticed and consequently didn't unlocked teheheh. Even after the final of the story, I didn't even felt that feeling of OMFG I WANT MORE (BUT OBVIOUSLY I WOULD PLAY A N Y SEQUENCE <3333), as it was such rich and fulfilling. Also, I was kind of a little sad before playing this, but it made me feel way better! I am very happy that someone make it's way through to make such a great job and I wish all the best for you in your life!
Really, what a great game. Wow.

Ah, I also didn't noticed much of glitches — only Marcus appearing too son when he's about to grant passage to that tower in Lumiellin and when Pandora is at the Tamer's Academy. Welp, I'm kind not fluent, so I can't say too much about grammar.
(Sorry if someone already asked that, but why you write "thier" instead of "their"? Is it some language variation?)
Greetings and salutations Ebanyle! Actually, the multiple "thier's" were a part of a subtle yet devious plot to brainwash players into believing that their was in fact spelled thier. Unfortunately, my diabolical plot was foiled when several players pointed out the error, ruining my facade. Mark my words, I will have vengeance! It's certainly not because I was just too lazy to run my script through a word processor first. Nope, definitely not the case...

Ok, real talk. I am thrilled that you had so much fun with the game, and it even more so that it helped to lift your spirits. The fact that something I created is bringing people happiness is just indescribably awesome. I'm relieved you didn't run into very many glitches, but they're there, and I won't be satisfied until they're all busted.

So congratulations on beating the game and thanks for taking the time to play it. I hope you'll join me for future games, and that you'll be just as entertained by them as you were by this one.I feel like I've given this speech before, but I'm not sure how else to express my happiness. Maybe I should just start doing backflips again.
