Over two hundred years ago, the five heroes defeated the god of darkness; Ragnarok, in a climactic struggle for the fate of the world. Banished back to the realm of darkness known as the Abyss, the threat of the evil god had finally been put to rest once and for all...or so they thought.

Umbral Soul follows the story of Ragnarok’s loyal servant, Pandora, who joins her master in a quest to conquer the world and reclaim his lost power. In order to shroud the world in eternal darkness, they will have to find and recruit new allies, build an army of powerful monsters, and raise a force strong enough to crush anyone who dares to oppose them. Heroes, generals and rival overlords all stand against them. Do you have the power to make the world yours?

Pandora
A powerful dark sorceress with the ability to call forth monsters from the Abyss and enslave them to her will. Her burning hatred for the world and its people leads her to follow Ragnarok with unwavering loyalty.

Ragnarok
The god of darkness, who seeks dominion over the human realm. Once an extremely powerful being in the form of a monstrous demon, he has now been reduced to a mere soul. He wishes to plunge the entirety of the human realm into darkness, in part out of spite for his counterpart; the goddess of light, Lumielle.

Lanith
Beautiful, deadly, and self absorbed to a tee, Lanith is a succubus with a never ending hunger for the lifeforce of men. Having served under Pandora since she was only a child, she has a knack for getting under her skin, and does so whenever the opportunity arises.

Damien
A deeply twisted and sadistic young man, Damien loves nothing more than manipulating others and watching them squirm. While he has kept his true nature a secret, Ragnarok’s uprising marks the perfect opportunity for him to cut loose and have some fun...by killing as many enemies as possible.

Azrielle
The lord of all demons, who is fiercely loyal to Ragnarok and possesses an extreme, seething hatred for humanity. After failing to aid his master in conquering the world the first time, he has no intention of repeating the same mistakes again.

I'm back, baby!

Hey everybody, hope you've been doing well. I'm pleased to say I was just recently discharged from rehab, so at long last after over a month I'm home. They ran a whole lot of tests on me and I had several surgeries, so I am finally no longer in danger of croaking. That means I'm finally free to double down on game development, when I'm not stuck sitting in some doctor's office that is. Thank you all for your well wishes, they went a long way towards improving my mental health through that strenuous time. Welp, that's enough chatter. I've got some game making to do.

I was going to say Final Fantasy 7 remake wait times, but...those are good too. Alright, it's not going to take THAT long, but there's still a lot I want to do.
What about Final Fantasy XV wait times?
Meh, that wasn't that long, right? I guess that'd be the best wait time to compare it to so far. Been wanting to play that game for a while, but I still don't have a PS4. Curse my poverty!
It's coming to computers in twenty eighteen.

Haha, FFXV was initially Final Fantasy Versus XIII. It was announced ten years ago.
What happened to that Bacon Jam game you were working on?
rebel1223: Ten years eh? Still not as bad as KH 3. I mean that series started when I was in high school and now I'm an old man.

1for3: In the condition it was in at the deadline, it would've been an unpolished glitchy mess if we turned it in then, so we've been giving it an overhaul. It's going to be the best dang comedy game ever dag-nabit! Prepare your funny bones and eyeballs for the greatest sight they have ever beheld!
BerryRMN, he's quite the artist. One of his games was a hidden gem on the front page a little while ago, really cool guy. https://rpgmaker.net/users/BerryRMN/games/
Just finished the game. Was there ever any use for that Manor on the west?
Not in this game, but it needed to be there in preparation for the sequel. It's a pretty important part of the story.

And I tried so many times to get a reaction out of that Manor - or their daughter that the bandits kidnapped. Nope. Figured there might be a ransom to collect, was really hoping for at least a cutscene taunting her or her parents.

Nope. Guess she's just a low-level quest and/or party member for Team Good.
Ha! Sorry about that. Trust me, I was tempted to do that, but I decided to make it into something less sidequesty and more main story-ish for the future. Maybe I should take the label off of that location to make it clearer you can't got there.

Mild spoiler:

At least you get to collect one ransom in the game.
Just wanted to drop a quick thanks, since you've made such a great game!
I wish there were more games, where you get to play the villain.
By the by, the animations and art in this game are fantastic :)
Thank you for your thank you! The I made this was because I wanted there to be more villain games in the world as well. Maybe if I'm lucky, it'll help motivate someone to make their own. Thanks for the kind words, it was a boatload of work, but it was definitely worth it.
I think this game is very unique because you play the badguy (badgirl :P ) from the very beginning and because of that its a practically a open market cause everyone wants to play now and then the badguy or girl. This game is therefore a musthave for any rpg fans i think.
Thanks for the kind words Adalynn, the world definitely needs more villain games in my opinion. There's a lot of untapped potential to be had.
I gotta say, the concept is quite intriguing. I'll wait until the hero's campaign/sequel is out.

By the way, is there a way to trigger the forest village sidequest?
I've played through some of your game WheelmanZero and wow, the writing truly is amazing. The scenes are well structured and every character piece of dialogue is crafted so well. You have a real talent at writing, at least writing this game. It really is super good!
kennsure- Hmm...there are a few villages that are surrounded by forests, so I need to know which one we're talking about. If you mean the one next to the magic school, that one is connected to a sidequest you can start by talking to one of the students at the tamer's school in Arcfall to the east. If that's not the one, I'm sure I can narrow it down if you can get me the name of the village. Thanks for your interest, it means a lot.

boos405- Hey thanks! I've never considered myself much of a writer, but it becomes a lot easier if you imagine the character's voice in your head. It really does make a huge difference. I hope you have a good time all the way up to the end.
