Over two hundred years ago, the five heroes defeated the god of darkness; Ragnarok, in a climactic struggle for the fate of the world. Banished back to the realm of darkness known as the Abyss, the threat of the evil god had finally been put to rest once and for all...or so they thought.

Umbral Soul follows the story of Ragnarok’s loyal servant, Pandora, who joins her master in a quest to conquer the world and reclaim his lost power. In order to shroud the world in eternal darkness, they will have to find and recruit new allies, build an army of powerful monsters, and raise a force strong enough to crush anyone who dares to oppose them. Heroes, generals and rival overlords all stand against them. Do you have the power to make the world yours?

Pandora
A powerful dark sorceress with the ability to call forth monsters from the Abyss and enslave them to her will. Her burning hatred for the world and its people leads her to follow Ragnarok with unwavering loyalty.

Ragnarok
The god of darkness, who seeks dominion over the human realm. Once an extremely powerful being in the form of a monstrous demon, he has now been reduced to a mere soul. He wishes to plunge the entirety of the human realm into darkness, in part out of spite for his counterpart; the goddess of light, Lumielle.

Lanith
Beautiful, deadly, and self absorbed to a tee, Lanith is a succubus with a never ending hunger for the lifeforce of men. Having served under Pandora since she was only a child, she has a knack for getting under her skin, and does so whenever the opportunity arises.

Damien
A deeply twisted and sadistic young man, Damien loves nothing more than manipulating others and watching them squirm. While he has kept his true nature a secret, Ragnarok’s uprising marks the perfect opportunity for him to cut loose and have some fun...by killing as many enemies as possible.

Azrielle
The lord of all demons, who is fiercely loyal to Ragnarok and possesses an extreme, seething hatred for humanity. After failing to aid his master in conquering the world the first time, he has no intention of repeating the same mistakes again.

I'm back, baby!

Hey everybody, hope you've been doing well. I'm pleased to say I was just recently discharged from rehab, so at long last after over a month I'm home. They ran a whole lot of tests on me and I had several surgeries, so I am finally no longer in danger of croaking. That means I'm finally free to double down on game development, when I'm not stuck sitting in some doctor's office that is. Thank you all for your well wishes, they went a long way towards improving my mental health through that strenuous time. Welp, that's enough chatter. I've got some game making to do.

Posts

Bwahaha! Trying to help me break the record for most pages on a game profile eh ZH? I kid, I kid. The summon your missing is kind of a secret character.

If you talk to Narissa in Pandora's room after you've started the vampire sidequest, she'll become a summon. The window to recruit her is very small, as she becomes unattainable once you complete the vampire side quest.

Kudos on evolving everyone, I wasn't sure if anyone was going to pull it off.
Fuck. I am on my fourth playthrough and I don't feel like a fifth. For your next game, you should really look into having some sort of notifier that lets the player know things.

Anywho, I've finished everything, but I have one final task that I want to do before I delete and that's

Kill off Serene before her exhaustion triggers
Funny you should mention that. I'm including a sidequest guide in the ultimate edition which will cover how to start all of the sidequests and collect every last summon, so no one misses any content. Of course that's not the only addition I'm making. The ultimate edition will also include...

Characters that can speak will make sounds when taking damage

Characters that can speak will make a comment when fleeing from battle

1 Additional summon

Additional sidequests

Additional scenarios including:

How Pandora went from an innocent child to a killer
How Azrielle met Ragnarok
A bit more character development for Darkle
A flashback to when Rozalin met Jeremy's party

A new status menu

Spelling and grammar fixes

A new campaign where you play as Serene's party

Judging by your last comment, you might not be too thrilled about that last one, but who knows, you might just have fun with it. I don't know if everything above will warrant another playthrough, but I suppose that's up to you. I'm hoping to add enough shiny new content to make it worth giving another go.
Well, since you're still working on it I found a bunch of bugs while exploring your game.

Bugs that I can remember off hand:

Lanith if not in the party has two sits in the chair AND soaks in the bath with Pandora during the cutscene.

If you put off the wyvern fight between Pandora and headmaster (needed to get the pet license or whatever) Pandora will have two sprites on the map.

1. Player Sprite
2. Event Sprite

Also in the pet arena with the headmaster, there appears to be a spider event on the wall (but that may be intentional)

Signing up to fight with Helga? (The brawler succubus) shows Demora's sprite on the map near the announcer for the rest of the game

Necromancer cutscene doesn't show Samson but shows Azrielle instead.

Before the fight with Queen Vampire, you can walk up the wall a bit.

After talking to Lonnie and leaving you can walk into the water in the previous map.

There are a lot of others, but I can't remember off-hand.

(Also, you should make a guide that shows where optional player dialogue is accessible. I like the fact there is flavour text for different characters and little bonuses for having a certain character in the party, but hate that I won't find everything. You should have an achievement script for players like me that likes beating the game 100% before stopping. Achievements would point the player in the right direction and let them explore stuff on their own while retaining the satisfaction.)

Maybe that'd be useful in your sequel and such.
Thanks for the tip off, I wasn't aware of several of those. I wanted the unique interactions to be a kind of bonus for curious players; an unpredictable surprise that adds a little extra fun. I can't tell you how many rpg's I've played where I've thought to myself, "I wonder how this npc would respond if I did this." I forgot to mention that one of the additions for the ultimate version is more variable npc interaction depending on your summon, particularly in the demon barracks. Hopefully that'll take some guesswork out of who triggers special dialogue, since now all talking summons will give special dialogue when interacting with certain events. Also, previously Lanith was the only one who would make a comment during boss fights, but now all talking summons will have something to say. Thanks for that script, I might have to look into it. I just hope it plays nice with the other 52 scripts I have in there.

The demon maids actually come from a game called Ragnarok Odyssey, where they're enemies referred to as Ghastly Kafra. There are probably only about two pictures of them across the entire internet, so there weren't very many resources to pull from, but I liked their designs too much not to give it a go.
yo i have a problem evry time i trie to go in
The colsaum
for the
dark mage quest
I can't find the capitain

how do earn money faster i need 5000 for gwt kraken quest
The captain is sitting on the bench to the left, he's the one wearing armor. Monster drops are the best way to farm gold, and are going to be more common in the next version, so making money will be a bit easier. The ambrosia's that the hornets in Palnea Woods drop are especially valuable.
I'm really trying to wait for the new version before I start my second playthrough.
That's probably a good call. I'm glad you think it's worthy of one!
how go to the volcano i cant go ant what il the lv we can learn all skills

This Game is amazing. Mindblowing. One of the best I've ever played in my Life.
Everything about this Game is awesome: Charakters, Story, Gameplay, The Summons, The Atmosphere, Playing as the Bad Guys. It's just really unique in many ways. I love the Monster collecting Aspect and love to evolve them. So much Fun. The Sidestorys are awesome, too. Thank you for this wonderful Game. I'm gonna replay the Sh*t out of it.
For me this Game is already a Classic.

Sorry for my bad Englisch. I'm from Germany.
Hearing you say that makes all the time and effort that went into making it worth it Gisulf91. Even after all this time I'm still flabbergasted that people like it so much. It never ceases to amaze me. Maybe you all just like being evil! Thanks a ton for the kind words. By the way, your English is just fine.
I just have played your game recently and I fall in love with it. I'm having a vacation and I spend every hour I have to play it. The character, the skills and the summoning stuff is interesting.
p/s: As I continue playing the game, I even wonder why this game is still free to play :D

I have a question though.
I have encountered one sidequest that requires me to train a slime and defeat a dragon to take the tamer licence. I'm really stuck at this point. I train the slime to its max level and try multiple times to defeat the dragon but I can't.
I skim through the comments and find out that you have to change it into new form? But I don't know how to do it. Can you show me a way? Please, because I really want to complete this game.

Thanks medusa, that's a pretty amazing compliment! There's no way I could take this game commercial without being sued by at least 60 people with all of the music, art, scripts and sound effects having been pulled from so many different sources. That credits list was a pain in the butt to make let me tell ya! My fellow gamers enjoying themselves is enough of a reward for me, cheesy as it sounds.

About that question of yours.

You won't be able to defeat the dragon until you've evolved your slime at least once. Monster evolution is unlocked at a certain point in the story, so if you keep following the main quests, you'll get to it eventually.

I hope that's helpful, let me know if you ever get stuck again.

When I played this game for the first time, I really saw and felt that effort in every tiny bit of the Game. Everything fits perfectly together. A few reasons why I like this game so much:

- That first Battle was one of the most epic in Video Game History. I really felt like playing as the last Boss against an classic RPG-Hero-Party. Totally awesome! Realizing that I will play the entire game as the bad guys was so satisfying.
- The Charakter development and progression is one of the best Parts, too. Pandora is freakin' evil, BUT she has a good reason for being so. No Charakter is bland or boring. Everyone has more or less understandable reasons for thier actions.
- The Music in this game is sooooo good. Fits perfectly and really adds to the Atmosphere.
- The Art in this Game is mindblowing: Maps, Charakter-Portraits, Spell-Animations, The Summons and lots of other Stuff.
- The Battle System! It's so much fun! One of the best Turn Based Systems I've ever experienced.
So many different Abilitys and Spells. So much Thoughts and Thinking were put into this System. It's not just like any other Standart-RPG. It really has it's own flavour. Can't really discribe it. The Combat in this Game just amazes me.
- The Monster / Summon collecting and training is UNBELIEVEABLE AWESOME! Best Aspect of the Game for me. It adds so much to the Combat System. It gives you a wide Pallete of Extra-Charakters to choose from. Every single one with unique Abilitys, Evolutions and in some cases even an own Story. The Summons really are Story relevant Charakters. Never seen anything like this before.

You did an amazing job on crafting this Masterpiece.

I have Three Questions to ask:

1. Is there any kind of offical Walkthrough for your Game? I really want to do a 100% Run.
2. Do you have plans to update Umbral Soul or is the current version the final one?
3. Do you have plans to make another Game?
im not the creator but i cant anser question

1: there not really wallktrout bt if you unlock all senatio that mean you have seen evrithin for now
