Over two hundred years ago, the five heroes defeated the god of darkness; Ragnarok, in a climactic struggle for the fate of the world. Banished back to the realm of darkness known as the Abyss, the threat of the evil god had finally been put to rest once and for all...or so they thought.

Umbral Soul follows the story of Ragnarok’s loyal servant, Pandora, who joins her master in a quest to conquer the world and reclaim his lost power. In order to shroud the world in eternal darkness, they will have to find and recruit new allies, build an army of powerful monsters, and raise a force strong enough to crush anyone who dares to oppose them. Heroes, generals and rival overlords all stand against them. Do you have the power to make the world yours?

Pandora
A powerful dark sorceress with the ability to call forth monsters from the Abyss and enslave them to her will. Her burning hatred for the world and its people leads her to follow Ragnarok with unwavering loyalty.

Ragnarok
The god of darkness, who seeks dominion over the human realm. Once an extremely powerful being in the form of a monstrous demon, he has now been reduced to a mere soul. He wishes to plunge the entirety of the human realm into darkness, in part out of spite for his counterpart; the goddess of light, Lumielle.

Lanith
Beautiful, deadly, and self absorbed to a tee, Lanith is a succubus with a never ending hunger for the lifeforce of men. Having served under Pandora since she was only a child, she has a knack for getting under her skin, and does so whenever the opportunity arises.

Damien
A deeply twisted and sadistic young man, Damien loves nothing more than manipulating others and watching them squirm. While he has kept his true nature a secret, Ragnarok’s uprising marks the perfect opportunity for him to cut loose and have some fun...by killing as many enemies as possible.

Azrielle
The lord of all demons, who is fiercely loyal to Ragnarok and possesses an extreme, seething hatred for humanity. After failing to aid his master in conquering the world the first time, he has no intention of repeating the same mistakes again.

I'm back, baby!

Hey everybody, hope you've been doing well. I'm pleased to say I was just recently discharged from rehab, so at long last after over a month I'm home. They ran a whole lot of tests on me and I had several surgeries, so I am finally no longer in danger of croaking. That means I'm finally free to double down on game development, when I'm not stuck sitting in some doctor's office that is. Thank you all for your well wishes, they went a long way towards improving my mental health through that strenuous time. Welp, that's enough chatter. I've got some game making to do.

Posts

Wow, that's...that's very wow Gisulf91, you've made me one happy guy! Actually I think I've surpassed happiness and ascended into a state of joy for which there is no word in human language. I've always been jealous of bosses and enemies in rpg's with their incredible powers and intimidating appearances, so I thought it would be fun to finally take control of that power myself. I'd love it if we could get more games where we can play as the boss or as villains in general.

You're right on the money dd33, thanks for the backup. There will be another version of the game with additional content as well as a walkthrough for how to start all of the sidequests and unlock every last scenario. I'm working on a joint project with a friend as well, and there will indeed be a sequel to this game called Luminous Soul where the cast makes a return. Lots of good stuff coming in the future, I hope you look forward to it!
That's some great news, Dude.
A new Version and a sequel...That is really awesome! Looking forward to it. I know it's gonna be great :)

Damn, the RPG Maker Commiunity has a much better Support than some big game development companys. Questions getting answered right away and all That good Stuff.
Well, i'm back here just to add more of what i found of this game...really, i'm such um succ for this game that even i can't believe how much it's got me. I really wanted to write an official review, but i don't think i'm quallified or even deserve to write one.
But, for now, i want to tell about something i didn't told before: the stronger and weaker points of Umbral Soul. I know you are probably tired of reading the same thing over and over, but yeah, your game is just that good...way to go Wheelman!
So, every game, even big ones, has stronger and weaker points, it's not like Umbral Soul is bad on something, no no, quite the contrary actually, it's so well made that it gives a hard time finding the weaker points, so it's probably easier find the stronger ones than go to the weaker.
For all the times i played, three things got my special attention. The first one was the overall plot. Most games these days try to add something new for it's players, so it can shine brigter than most, but it's very hard to create a game and make the players play as the "villains", really, you don't know how MANY tried and end creating not a villain nor an antihero, but somekind of twisted hero fighting for vengeance/ justice. So i can't praise you enough for creating a plot that fitted the villains so well. The story is really well made, i loved discovering the background for the first darkmage when i played it the first time...danm the whole game was a thrill for me the first time i played, i couldn't get enough from it. "What will happen next?" My favorite moment was when Pandora's was discoreved as a dark mage in the finals of the Monstertamer Championship, it was REALLY amazing, so keep doing that for Luminous Soul and you are up for more Misaos.
The second point, and even more important than the first, is the characters and their development. Well, as i said it's really hard creating REAL villains for games like that, but every single of them got the paper and made a really good villain/ antihero, i would really be sad if they ended being the right ones...they ARE somewhat right, but they are oh so deliciously wrong in doing what they were doing, no matter the reasons they had, they were murderous and dangerous villains, i won't pity them if they die in Luminous Soul, of course i will be sad and hate you for that Whellman, as i got attached to them...even to Sanson, but i won't pity them, they deserve to pay for everything they did, no one was to blame for their loved ones death's execept for the world situation it self, if they tried another approach probably nothing of this would happened, but again, they are not heroes nor avengers, they are villais! And that's what maked them amazing, "Ahhh, but isn't them somekind of heroes fighting for justice for darkmages?" Well, maybe Markhus is the one that get near this picture the most, but in the end he is an antihero, gosh he caused his mother death and felt he was right about it, his mother wasn't bad too. The other are antiheroes, execept for Ragnarok and Sanson, they are trully villains. Another thing i liked in the characters is that even the heroes of Lumielle are not the standard gooddy gooddy type, execept for Serene, but i can accept that, she is really important for Pandora's development after all and maybe for the second game or the ultimate edition too, can't really know. Overall i loved how their vision of the world developted between the darkness surrounding them, i really loved Lanith development the most, how she got really fond of Pandora and loved her as a mother/ sister would love their daughter/ little sister and protect them with all cost, man she was one of the most prideful and egoistic type of creature, but even then, she got to love Pandora with her everything, the same goes for Pandora in rellation with Lanith, trully lovely.
That last point and probably the one that got most of my attention: the soundtrack and soundwork overall. I really praise God for this one, every music in the game is perfect and worked perfectly, it CAN'T be better, this required a really good amount of research, but it got what it deserved. In special, the "That person's name is" from Bravely Default on Perseus battle in the collisium...really man, i created a separated save file just for the sake of fighting against him again and again, you really can't know how much it fitted Perseus, everytime i heard the theme i thought "Wow, a flying hero type would get really good with this theme", them you like shove Perseus in my face...how harsh of you man. The second music theme that got my attention is Zophiel's theme with Lilith, i want you to know that Drakengard has my favority soundtrack like ever, when i heard that against Lilith? My heart stopped and i dropped some tears. The thrid one is actually how good Shiki's theme got in the game, i couldn't expect that, probably because when i watched the anime i really didn't fell anything with the theme, but in the game? It gave shivers down the spine dude, i looked around in the heat of the moment. And last, the ending theme, i will tell that i heard some songs by Machinae Supremacy before, i liked them a lot, but hearing that? With the background images? A knew type of "liking" was born there!
Well...these were the stronger points in the game, now for the weakers.
Everything was ballanced, so it was hard to find weak points, good explanations of the systens, good ballancing overall, the visual is really beautiful and i never found too much game crashing glits or bugs. So in the end, what i think you should do is to limitate the experience, so that people CAN'T grind, really, in a story focused and character driven game like Umbral Soul it's unfair to let the players grind how much experience they want, it makes too easy to simple win the game, that is what i think you should do, put limits in how much exp one can get in an area so they can't surpass a X lvl in that part of the game, making the game much more harder and enjoyable, but again, i don't understand of these and it's your game, so think whatever you want from this.
And so we get to the BIGGEST weaker point of this game, IT'S GIANT and make me hate you and your game, and it is...THAT YOUR GAME IS TOO DANMED GOOD! You are an asshole for making a game that good, getting people addicted and only promising a sequel to much later in the future >:^( ! Kidding, but really, this game is trully this good, few games made me fell like this, i can even gave the name of the other one that made me fell like this. I won't say what game is it, because i don't know if you are okay with just publicity like this in your game comments or even if it's okay with RMN rules, if it is okay to say, i wil gladly say which game i'm talking about, because it is so good i can compare it with FF and Zelda in terms of characters and story.
Well, these are my last thoughts before the Ultimate edition, sorry if it's too long, but i couldn't say less than this about Umbral Soul.
It's good to hear from you again Kodek, I hope you've been well my friend. When I first started out I never thought I'd get a single review, much less 10, so I'm extremely grateful to everyone who leaves feedback, review or not.

It's great that you enjoyed the characters so much, they were always fun to write for and have their personalities bounce off each other. The Fire Emblem series taught me how having a large group of different characters with interesting backstories and personalities could make for a great story. I got kind of lucky when it came to finding music, as I happened to stumble upon the perfect tunes while roaming about youtube and enjoying various other media. Zophiel's theme from Drakkengard 3 was probably my favorite, that song is jammin'!

One of the things I love most about rpg's is overgrinding to become absurdly OP and then proceeding to wreck everything. Becoming so strong that you can tear through deities and eldritch abominations like tissue paper is just so empowering. That's why I made it possible to do so in Umbral Soul as well. If you play your cards right and put in the work, you'll be able to crush anything with minimal effort.

I'm sorry that I made you hate me, next time I'll try to make a worse game. Yes, I can see it now, there will be backtracking galore, bosses with HP in the millions, and every last enemy's basic attack will have a 75% chance to inflict confusion! (insert maniacal laughter here)

Pfft, I don't sweat that publicity stuff bud, I don't really see game making as a competition. The more awesome games that exist and the more people who know about them the better right? The general goal is to spread fun after all. So go ahead, name drop away. Thanks for this by the way, I really appreciate it.

That's another point why your game is so unique:
I always thought that level-grinding and being OP was boring, but with this game it was different.
In my first playthrough I began to grind very hard at a point where I couldn't beat a boss and when I came back I just crushed him. I kicked his ass so hard, he didn't even see it coming :D From that point on the game was even more fun to me. When you're OP in this game, you REALLY feel like you're Villians. You're the pure darknes and destruction. Being overlevled + the ability to port to the abyss at will makes you invincible. You can do all the funny things the villians in your classic RPG can do: Disappear into thin air, kill things with no effort, summon terrifying creatures and let them do the work for you, play with your enemies and laugh at thier weaknes. I love to play around with the enemies with Lanith's and Damien's Skills.

Other things I forgot to mention:
- I absolutley adore how the Skill-Palette of each charakter totally fits to thier personalities.
- That DBZ-like Aura-Stuff is AWESOME!!! Great DBZ fan. Pandora unleashing her power for the first time always gives me goosebumps :D Together with that sound effects and the screen shaking, you really feel that power of hers. This may be one of the main reasons why I think this game is so good. :D :D Just badass.
- The Menus look good. Really good. That Castle in the background is awesome and the light-effects, too.
- I appreciate the Weapon- and Gear System. It's a little more simple than in other RPGs, but I like that a lot. You don't have to worry so much about your equipment and you can focus on the actual game instead.
- I want Ragnarok as a main charakter or summon :D :D :D I know that's not gonna happen, because it just wouldn't fit into the plot, but that would be freakin cool haha :D

Yeah, villains are meant to be OP, I mean it usually takes an entire group of heroes to take down a single villain. When it comes to rpg's like this, you usually play as a group of plucky young heroes going up against overwhelming odds. Through countless trials and the acquisition of powerful equipment, you eventually grow strong enough to narrowly defeat the big bad of the game. I wanted playing as a villain to feel a bit different. I didn't want to feel like an underdog, I wanted to feel powerful, growing more and more powerful to the point that I'm basically an unstoppable killing machine with an absurd number of resources at my command. That's why I didn't put much emphasis on items or equipment. They're crutches heroes use to make up for their own weakness, but a villain overcomes adversity with their own overwhelming power.

The skills were a blast to make, although the custom animations were a bit tedious at times. Still totally worth the effort though. As a dbz fan myself, I've always loved it when the various characters power up (even if it did take 3 episodes sometimes). Aura's have always been a great way to demonstrate power in my opinion.

Ha! Sorry but I'm afraid you'll have to settle for only a small snippet of Ragnarok gameplay, that guy is imbalance incarnate. I'm glad you enjoyed your little joy ride as a final boss, it was a lot of fun (and frustration) to put together.
I like getting overleveled, makes it easier to enjoy the story.
I grinded the summon exp things in the arena using an auto keyboard, after a few minutes i had exp for days, the eldritch abomination summon was my go-to since increasing attack and using the 3 hit attack tore apart most enemies.
Okay, I have just recently finished this game and I just had to make account just so I could say this. This is one "hell" of a game (hehe, puns).

Seriously, this is the game that I think, has awoken some kind of passion in me for RPGs. There are many things to praise in this game - the choice of background music, the many possible combinations of attacks, the character art, the dialogue, the whole fucking concept! Really, I could maybe write a full review but I'm not used to doing that and I feel I would make a cringe-y messy one. I also know that many have already gave their praise to this game, so I think instead of being a repeat, I would like to mention the parts I didn't like about the game.

My first complain goes out to some typos in the dialogue. I know you're about to work on those based on your replies to the others, but let me give you a head-start and say that the word "their" is often misspelled as "thier." This happens even in the "readme."

My next gripe is about a certain bug I encountered while raiding Reginald's castle. I could maybe post all about the circumstances when I encountered it, but it's basically the disappearance of
Marcus when you take Damien in your party. When there's dialogue, it's as if Marcus is the one in the party but in battle, Damien is the one in the party as intended. You can't find Marcus in the field once you've taken Damien and he only appears in cutscenes.

Also, dyk that you can walk on the little old man's house near Lumielline if you walk around the door?

Okay, so far everything I've complained about have been pretty trivial. Here's the more critical view on the game.

Probably my biggest complain about the game is its balance. Don't get me wrong, for a game that's not commercial, it's actually mostly balanced. Some parts just really comes off to me as lacking, though.

I wanna start by saying that some monsters were minimally/never used. These include
Rozalin (which I was kinda excited to have in the party), the dragon (ironically), Narissa & Grelda, the hydra rafflesia, the phoenix & Sagirus (two more I was excited about), Noire, Metal Slime, and Darkle.
The dragon actually was useful the first part of the game but got outclassed by other aoe casters and the chimera for attack damage carries - not to mention,
abomination also develops a powerful aoe.
As for the others, I know not all of the summons are supposed to be useful but I really get excited for some and I get disappointed when I find them unusable.
Perhaps raise the hit chance for Rozalin's hypnosis?

On another note, one of my favorite summons is
Demora. Is it intended that she's so useful? Haha, she's really good against magic casters esp in the fight against Perseus.

Finally, I want to address the balance of the enemies. I'm not sure if I'm just that good at strategizing (I'm not trying to brag :P ), or it's just that rewarding to find the awesome syncs of certain party compositions, but I've only had a limited number of butt-clenching battles.
I've only really lost to demi-god Reinhart, Odin, and Athena (this one was intentional, right?)
; Maybe a few more others, but my point is, some battles could be just a tad bit more exciting. For reference, I was slightly disappointed with the final boss. Don't worry, it didn't suck for me thanks to your awesome choice in music and art, but
Odin
gave me a harder time, actually. This is with Pandora at level 33, naturally the highest level in the party, so there's that as reference. I'm not sure if that's overleveled for the fight so do let me know. I would also be willing to tell you the strategy I used for that final fight so let me know if you're curious.

Overall, I think it's a great game with a great concept and great writing that has given me more entertainment than some games that have been developed by big title companies. It's just that to me, it's lacking in a bit of spiciness of difficult battles.
Thanks Partizan, this was incredibly helpful. I didn't even know those party switching glitches existed until now. I've found the culprit; a few errant lines of eventing. Boom! Another bug zapped! As for the "thiers"...well, they've been haunting my nightmares for quite some time now, but you'll be happy to know I've found and fixed them all for the next version. Probably. Pretty sure. Around 89% sure.

Yeah I didn't expect players to use every summon on the first go round, but I was hoping they'd add some replay value to the game. Hypnosis is a little dangerous to mess with, as it has the potential to be frighteningly, hilariously, game-breakingly OP. It works on pretty much anything that has eyelids with the exception of a few bosses, and can easily be spammed with the right setup going. Sleep also increases the damage foes take, so I had to be careful with how reliable it was. Blast, now everyone's going to spam sleep now. Uhh...nothing to see here people!

Demora was meant to be one of the go-to healers of the game but I'm pretty sure I made her more OP than I had intended. "Pffft, she has like 6 HP." I thought. "No one's going to bother spamming her." I thought. Her magic reflect is a little too OP though so she's getting a slight nerf in the next version. Now it protects 1 party member for 2 turns.

Right you are, that last loss you mentioned was indeed intentional, and there's no doubt the game's balance is skewed in your favor. I wanted to feel like a powerful villain, so I gave the various characters a slew of OP abilities, but I've ramped up the difficulty a little bit for the next version. Before, Pandora's group heal could be spammed to high heaven, but now it has a Tp cost as well as an mp cost. It's a small change, but its made a big difference in testing. Shadow Shell's healing however has been boosted by quite a bit, making that skill significantly less useless.

When I beat the game I was in the upper 20's so your level range wasn't too astronomical. The issue with Pandora is that she never leaves your party, so she gains a disproportionate amount of exp compared to everyone else. Fortunately I've come up with a fix for that too. And yeah, I'd love to hear how you took down the final boss. You can shoot me an email so we can talk about more spoilery things freely. Just click my name and hit "send user a message".

Thank you Partizan for all your feedback, it's already been a big help. This was my first serious project and I've learned a lot from it; info that'll help me make even better projects in the future.
Oh no. I was so excited to write those down I forgot that hiding spoilers existed! I'm so sorry haha. I'll try to edit it later. Anyway, thank you for replying. I'm kind of afraid now that I might have influenced the game to be harder for my playstyle because TP is the bane of my playstyle and I also greatly favor all-foes/allies-moves (that Demora nerf will leave a mark). Regardless, I look forward to replaying the game with these new difficulties and to see the progress you make with your game :)

Once again, thank you so much for making such a fun game! ^^
Pfft don't worry, I made these changes long before you made your post, and I've factored in the TP angle already. Infernal Awakening now restores a bit of TP to the target in addition to boosting their offense. You need to charge up if you want Pandora to heal, which means having to plan a little further ahead of time. Glad you had a good time!
Hey WheelmanZero,

I just finished writing a review for your amazing game :) It really was a blast playing it.

If you don't mind I would like to add a few things that might spoiler too much game content to be included in a review:

1.) I always tried to complete all side quests before the main quest. That way I ended up trying to get the "tamer license" before I even had Markus and a way to enchant monsters. I trained the slime up to level 10 and of course, could not defeat the headmasters' monster. I would suggest that you add a small dialog of Pandora saying something like "I need to find a way to enchant this slime (with dark energy)" after losing with the normal slime. That way, a player has an easier time to figure out that winning the fight with a normal slime is just not intended. Similar to how you added a small hint to revisit the bakery once you have a character who is very eloquent.

2.) Monster balancing:
I didn't read all 42 pages on here so please forgive me should I mention anything that was said before. In my opinion, the Kraken is the most powerful choice. He has very good base stats, especially after he was enchanted, he has a lot of HP, a "Bound"-ability, a "Blind"-ability, a "Poison"-ability, a "Confusion"- ability, two kinds of AOEs and is able to reduce thunder resistance for Markus. Although this is very impressive he can also act twice! WOW! He has an inbuilt Damien who uses "Marionette" on it all the time.

I read that you finished the game around ~lvl 20. I did with Pandora trained up to level 42 :D I enchanted all monsters to their maximum and felt like every other choice was outclassed by the enchanted Kraken. Lanith is ok after completing the side quest since the ability to heal for 20 TP makes it easier to use her healing ability. Before that, you need to attack twice just to get a fast scratch attack off which lacks any real benefits. There are just too little male enemies to effectively use her. Odin was never hit by her strong debuff spells and the soldiers around the king's castle die by AOE in two turns anyway. No need to debuff them. I really like the idea of the succubus but sadly I think she is not that viable.

The slim could be a huge tank but sadly there are far more mages than physical damage dealers in the game. Furthermore, it is so slow that enemies usually attack before it can use "Provoke". Because of this, it cannot block the first single target attack an enemy uses. It is far safer to take a damage dealer monster to try and kill all enemies or at least one enemy and negate the damage that way. A dead enemy doesn't take damage ^^

3.) Boss fights
I may have grinded too much but the bosses were hardly a challenge, except for the first encounter with Odin and the second encounter with Athena. Especially the later. She heals soooo much and deals quite some damage at the same time. Thankfully the Kranken prevailed and put her down. This fight takes very long since Pandora is practically a heal and buff bot in this fight :D

The final boss fight is soooo easy compared to that fight. I just didn't understand why the outer parts would remain targetable even after they were defeated?

4.) Graphical suggestions
I think your game is really pretty and well designed. Just one thing bothered me a little bit. The faces of the three maids and Pandora's parents look quite poor in the bottom left corner during a dialog. Especially the three maids' faces looked very wishy-washy like they did not belong in your game at all. :D

All in all one of the best games I was every allowed to play. Thank you very much :)
What? Another review!? I swear you people are actually trying to kill me at this point. My poor heart can't take much more of this. Oh well, I lived a full and joyous life. Can't really say I expected "heart attack via over-excitement" to be how I'd go out though. Life's funny like that. The rest of my reply is choc full of spoilers, so I'm just going to dump it all under this spoiler tag.

That tip about giving the player a heads up about the slime is a great idea, so thank you. When you're the dev and know exactly what to do, you tend to lose perspective on this kind of stuff.

I've heard people give different explanations for why they believe a particular summon is strongest, but this is my first time hearing a pitch for the kraken. His raw power is low and most of his skills are fueled by TP, but there's no doubt he's a status inflicting machine when properly leveled. I was worried being able to attack twice might make him too broken, but I've been heard he's been neglected due to his low offense. I'm glad you were able to discover his true potential though.

Lanith was a delicate balancing act. Her appeal was meant to be the fact that she can actually deal damage while being a powerful healer, while the game's other healers have the offensive power of a wet sock. I was worried that making Lanith both powerful and an excellent healer would result in all the other summons being neglected. After all, you wouldn't have to waste a turn swapping monsters if you had a white mage and a sweeper all in one. Odin should still be vulnerable to charm moves, though he can't be confused, so that aspect of Lanith's second charm move won't affect him and a few other male bosses.

Truth be told, I'm also more of an offense guy than a defense guy when it comes to strategy, so I wouldn't bother using the Slime's defensive moves myself. When coming up with skill sets however, I had to think of how a Slime would fight when it came to designing its skills. I think the slime works a lot better as an offensive creature at higher levels when used with Stormbringer. Even so, it's really meant to be a Magikarp before it finally becomes a Gyrados.

Holy smokes, why is everyone 10 to 20 levels above where I was when I beat the game? I thought you guys were supposed to hate grinding! Bah! But yeah, it's no surprise you demolished the final boss with stats like that. The next version's final boss will be a bit more aggressive though, and the overall difficulty will be a bit higher. I designed the pieces of the final boss to seem like a single unit with parts that all attacked differently, but now that I think about it, having each piece disappear after it's defeated would make it seem like the whole thing is slowly coming apart. Ha! I can't believe I didn't think of that before.

The last battle with Athena was meant to be impossible, so it's no wonder it took you so long. Blasted players, stop being so good at video games! I've tweaked that scene with some altered dialogue for those who win that battle in the future.

The maid faces came from a pretty tiny picture, hence the blurriness. I've been trying to think of a way to sharpen them up, but haven't had any luck so far. I just really loved those faces and how perfectly they matched the sprites. I haven't given up hope though, maybe there's an online editing program out there that can help me improve them.

Thanks Sylwinas, this was very helpful and I'm thrilled to hear you enjoyed yourself. I'm hoping to get better at this as I continue making games that I hope to share with everyone here at good ol' rmn.
As a person who's done three complete playthroughs of Umbral Soul. I think it's important to consider some things. Spoilers below.

Pandora always stays in your party. So she always gains experience even when some of your party members don't. Like has been said before.

There are many summons, all with different abilities to suit your playstyle and preference. I personally got the most work out of Lanith and Draconus. They just performed well for me because of Draconus's higher damage output when evolved. And Lanith's healing ability.

There is I think it's called Timberwood forest it's near arcfall. The forest is a consistent area where you can train and get bear hides to sell. Gotta bring in the gold somehow right?

As for character abilities...they naturally gain more abilities as they level up therefore you will rarely feel underpowered.
I saw a lot of positive reviews to this game. At first, I was sceptical if this game can be really that awesome? Now, as I was playing it for 3 hours, I could say: Yes, it is really that awesome! Unfortunately, I don't dare to review this game, as it will take hours to do so, but I'd recommend everyone to play this game, as it is a lot of fun. Very good job, WheelmanZero! Seems like you made one of the very best games on rmn.

Dude, if I wasn't the dev, I would've been skeptical. I mean this game's reception has been absolutely insane. I'm amazed and grateful that you'd give it such high praise, I mean WOW. Thanks a ton buddy, I hope you have a good time right up until the end.
Hi. My quest book still says that I've to become champion of arcfall colosseum's advanced level tournament. I've won that tournament twice but I still can't enter that tower of champions and my quest book haven't changed for that quest. What's next?

After all, I unlocked Samson as a playable character. At least, the game told me. I cannot find this guy. He's not in the party and he's not left in his room for me recruiting him. Where can I find Samson then, as his army is already in the Abyss?

Yup, like he says Gryger can be found in the Monster Kennel. You won't be able to enter the Demon's Gauntlet until the main story progresses to a certain point, so if you keep playing, it will unlock later down the line.
