Over two hundred years ago, the five heroes defeated the god of darkness; Ragnarok, in a climactic struggle for the fate of the world. Banished back to the realm of darkness known as the Abyss, the threat of the evil god had finally been put to rest once and for all...or so they thought.

Umbral Soul follows the story of Ragnarok’s loyal servant, Pandora, who joins her master in a quest to conquer the world and reclaim his lost power. In order to shroud the world in eternal darkness, they will have to find and recruit new allies, build an army of powerful monsters, and raise a force strong enough to crush anyone who dares to oppose them. Heroes, generals and rival overlords all stand against them. Do you have the power to make the world yours?

Pandora
A powerful dark sorceress with the ability to call forth monsters from the Abyss and enslave them to her will. Her burning hatred for the world and its people leads her to follow Ragnarok with unwavering loyalty.

Ragnarok
The god of darkness, who seeks dominion over the human realm. Once an extremely powerful being in the form of a monstrous demon, he has now been reduced to a mere soul. He wishes to plunge the entirety of the human realm into darkness, in part out of spite for his counterpart; the goddess of light, Lumielle.

Lanith
Beautiful, deadly, and self absorbed to a tee, Lanith is a succubus with a never ending hunger for the lifeforce of men. Having served under Pandora since she was only a child, she has a knack for getting under her skin, and does so whenever the opportunity arises.

Damien
A deeply twisted and sadistic young man, Damien loves nothing more than manipulating others and watching them squirm. While he has kept his true nature a secret, Ragnarok’s uprising marks the perfect opportunity for him to cut loose and have some fun...by killing as many enemies as possible.

Azrielle
The lord of all demons, who is fiercely loyal to Ragnarok and possesses an extreme, seething hatred for humanity. After failing to aid his master in conquering the world the first time, he has no intention of repeating the same mistakes again.

I'm back, baby!

Hey everybody, hope you've been doing well. I'm pleased to say I was just recently discharged from rehab, so at long last after over a month I'm home. They ran a whole lot of tests on me and I had several surgeries, so I am finally no longer in danger of croaking. That means I'm finally free to double down on game development, when I'm not stuck sitting in some doctor's office that is. Thank you all for your well wishes, they went a long way towards improving my mental health through that strenuous time. Welp, that's enough chatter. I've got some game making to do.

Posts

I'm sorry for your loss, WheelmanZero, and I wish you strength to cope with the situation. Just ignore fools like dd33 from now on.
I want to say thank you to everyone for the good will. You guys are alright.
Sorry for your loss WheelmanZero, realy appreciate your work.
Hey i really loved this game and got addicted to it , you devs certainly did a great job :))) When you guys are releasing the rest of the game?
Read page 49 of the posts section and you'll understand why this question shouldn't be asked again so soon. On the other hand, you're the first one to ask this month. Perhaps the community is granted one "When will the Ultimate Edition be released?" question per month.
Ha! Don't worry Kyle, it's perfectly fine to ask. The only thing that gets my goat is when the same person asks 48 times within a month. Thanks for playing Chuasme, I'm glad you enjoyed it, and even more glad you're looking forward to what's coming next. I can't really give a release date, since I've learned I'm terrible at keeping them. Doh!

Don't worry though, as soon as I'm finished, I'll make a blog post about all of the game's new added features. As long as you're subscribed to this page, you should get a notification about it when I do. To subscribe, hit the orange button just under the game title. Wow, I just felt like a youtuber there for a second.

Oh yeah, and thank you MetalicDarkMage for your kind words as well. You guys are a fine bunch of peeps. That was meant to be a compliment by the way, I'm not calling you marshmallow chickens or anything like that.

Well this is my very 1st post and i didn't know what is going on. Besides i simply can't read all pages right? My first post on this discussion was the only one i was going to ask for the release date because i do not like repeating. I'm simply going to wait for notifications from now on about release date.

Btw Wheelman i'm sorry for your loss and i wish you a happy and successful life. :)
Have a good day/night all.
Thanks a lot bud, I really do appreciate it. I see you're new here, so allow me to formally welcome you to good ol' rmn! I hope you have a good time with the many great games here.

Do not ignore side quests as they will help you uncover more background of the main character as well as the others and you will get more companions as well therefore try to interact with everyone.

There is no need to trade for anything other than potions and few character upgrade items.

Battles aren't too tough if you know what you are doing. I only died 1-2 times.

Lastly, Embrace the Power the Dark God gave you and make your enemies succumb to Darkness!

thanks!

im 20 hours in, and i feel this game has so much potential for future sequals/prequels; forexample there could be the exact same story but we play from the "good" side and tell that story.

or do the prequel from jeremy's pov

so much potential

whos with me on this?!
Ha! Way ahead of you there buddy. The next version's additional campaign will have you play as Serene's party, so you can look forward to that.

Just finished the game, but i felt i missed out on some stuff, was there ever a point to that mansion on the island? also missed a few stories from pandora's bedroom... not sure if those were like that on purpose?

anyways, really good job with the game, original, yet at the same time nostalgic.
a lot of times during the game i was rooting for the "light" side, conflicted feelings (lol), because of the 20+ years of playing rpgs, you always play the "good" side, brain couldn't wrap around being the baddies, which imo, is a great welcome.

cant wait for additional content on this, will be looking out for it

Whoa, done already? That's pretty impressive! The mansion doesn't actually play a role in this game, but it needed to be there in preparation for the sequel. All the scenarios in Pandora's room are unlockable, you just need to do certain things to unlock them such as talking to certain people or completing certain sidequests. If you're curious you can always watch HawkZombie's playthrough on youtube, as he managed to unlock all the scenarios.

Yeah, at this point we've all been pretty much brainwashed into rooting for the good guys, although in this case both the protagonists and antagonists are in the wrong, so I guess you should root for whoever you like more. Ha! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, it's always great to hear when someone's had a good time.

Screenshots of the events list if you need hints on how to get it cuz I don't remember at all how I got em lol (not sure if there is any spoiler or not in there)
yea i missed the demon maids one and the insatiable hunger...

also, if there was a way to continue playing the game after the end boss. ie: we can still terrorize the ppls that would add stat points to our team. or a extra dungeon for hign lvl only like lvl80+ or something....

Spoilers, because...uh, spoilers.

Sounds like you must've missed the vampire sidequest then. That one's linked to a few other sidequests. Assuming you have a save file before you entered the capital, you should still be able to complete them. When Grelda disappears from Pandora's room, talk to Narissa with Azrielle in your party to start the vampire questline. You'll want to make sure you talk to her again before you finish this sidequest. Once you've completed the quest, talk to the singing demon in the orb room inside the vampire castle to start another sidequest. After you've saved Grelda, talk to her in Pandora's room to start another sidequest. Doing all this should net you the missing scenarios.

As for a postgame, I had thought of doing that, but there were a few issues that changed my mind. At the end of the game, everyone in Pandora's party becomes boss tier, possessing new overpowered skills that I was planning on keeping a surprise until the sequel. For instance, Pandora can use multiple summons at once instead of just one at a time. I can't begin to imagine how I would event that in, and there would be no character left in the game short of Lumielle herself that would be able to challenge all the acolytes at once due to how stupidly OP they become. I'm not even talking about "ha ha ha you can't hurt me" level OP. I'm talking "everything on screen dies in one turn" level OP. The main reason I decided against it though, is because I wanted the player to see how Pandora's party's skills have evolved since their power boost in order to emphasize how utterly, hopelessly outclassed the heroes are.
I was wondering these days who would be the next protagonist. Peharps the dark mage girl that passed some time on Marcus's closet?
I can answer that for you. It's pretty spoilery, so if you really want to know, send me an email and I'll send you a response.
I'm obviously not the (Wheel)man himself, but I figured the final cutscene made it pretty clear who the main protagonist was going to be in the sequel. Unless it's massive misdirection, which would not surprise me.
More fun to speculate on, is who the OTHER party members will be, and what's going to happen with everyone we know and love on Team Evil.
