Over two hundred years ago, the five heroes defeated the god of darkness; Ragnarok, in a climactic struggle for the fate of the world. Banished back to the realm of darkness known as the Abyss, the threat of the evil god had finally been put to rest once and for all...or so they thought.

Umbral Soul follows the story of Ragnarok’s loyal servant, Pandora, who joins her master in a quest to conquer the world and reclaim his lost power. In order to shroud the world in eternal darkness, they will have to find and recruit new allies, build an army of powerful monsters, and raise a force strong enough to crush anyone who dares to oppose them. Heroes, generals and rival overlords all stand against them. Do you have the power to make the world yours?

Pandora
A powerful dark sorceress with the ability to call forth monsters from the Abyss and enslave them to her will. Her burning hatred for the world and its people leads her to follow Ragnarok with unwavering loyalty.

Ragnarok
The god of darkness, who seeks dominion over the human realm. Once an extremely powerful being in the form of a monstrous demon, he has now been reduced to a mere soul. He wishes to plunge the entirety of the human realm into darkness, in part out of spite for his counterpart; the goddess of light, Lumielle.

Lanith
Beautiful, deadly, and self absorbed to a tee, Lanith is a succubus with a never ending hunger for the lifeforce of men. Having served under Pandora since she was only a child, she has a knack for getting under her skin, and does so whenever the opportunity arises.

Damien
A deeply twisted and sadistic young man, Damien loves nothing more than manipulating others and watching them squirm. While he has kept his true nature a secret, Ragnarok’s uprising marks the perfect opportunity for him to cut loose and have some fun...by killing as many enemies as possible.

Azrielle
The lord of all demons, who is fiercely loyal to Ragnarok and possesses an extreme, seething hatred for humanity. After failing to aid his master in conquering the world the first time, he has no intention of repeating the same mistakes again.

I'm back, baby!

Hey everybody, hope you've been doing well. I'm pleased to say I was just recently discharged from rehab, so at long last after over a month I'm home. They ran a whole lot of tests on me and I had several surgeries, so I am finally no longer in danger of croaking. That means I'm finally free to double down on game development, when I'm not stuck sitting in some doctor's office that is. Thank you all for your well wishes, they went a long way towards improving my mental health through that strenuous time. Welp, that's enough chatter. I've got some game making to do.

Bro do you have a discord server to keep track of progress or anything? Also this is one the best RPG games I have ever played, the plot carries so hard and the variety of mechanics in the game where beasts are like Pokémon but it's not.

Your story on this game is animation worthy to say the least, hell if I had the money i'd make an anime on this game LOL. Nah seriously though who knows how much work you put into this stuff man great game.

Oh and make a patreon man I'm sure people would love to fund you work

Oh man, you guys are seriously gonna make me cry. I am indeed making some changes to the game in light of my ideas for the sequel; namely the addition of a new character. While she doesn't affect the main story too much, she plays a vital role as the main antagonist of the Reverse campaign.

Reverse basically tells the story of what Serene and her friends were doing while Pandora was busy building her army. It puts you control of her party as they collect the Shards of Divinity, though they find themselves up against some stiff competition in their search. You'll encounter new enemies, new locations, and learn more about Serene's group as they travel. I'm trying my best to make it feel like a different game taking place at the same location.

One thing I should note is that while Pandora's group relies primarily on powerful skills, equipment is a much bigger factor for the heroes. You'll have the ability right from the start to wander the land and buy the best equipment to suit your strategies. All in all I think it'll be a much different experience from the base game.

I should mention that while the reverse campaign is meant to provide players with something fresh, I think there have been enough changes made to the original campaign to warrant another playthrough for those who are interested. More sidequests have been added, and I prefer my sidequests to have an interesting story attached to them to draw the player in. Phew! Alright, I think that should just about cover everything.
Oh, we all know how's that. I might as well take a week-long break whenever I create a single event...
By the way, you commented above about some ideas for Luminous Soul... are you making path for it in the new version first? Then we are having some nice connections :D
Also, is Reverse supposed to be kinda like a New Game+, or an entirely new game on it's own?
In anyway, I will be here rooting for the best of you. Take your time! Masterpieces aren't completed in a blink... :P
(Oh snap, I'm really late replying to this one. It's ok Wheelz, just play it cool and they'll never notice...)

*ahem*

Hey there everybody, hope your new year is off to a snazzy start! Oho, you'll hound me until it's done you say? That's great to hear. It means that even after all this time, you're still interested in the game. That's quite impressive considering how long it's been since I first released it. I was actually aiming to release the ultimate edition at the end of last December, but uh...some things happened which caused some other things to not happen.

Not to worry though, because I have a foolproof plan in place to greatly increase my productivity. You see, one of my New Year's resolutions is to get less work done than ever before. "Less?" I hear you say. "Wheelman, don't you mean more?" Well therein lies the genius of my plan. It is a well known scientific fact that 99% of New Year's resolutions barely make it out of the starting gate before falling flat on their faces. That being the case, my resolution to be less productive will no doubt go unfulfilled, causing my productivity to skyrocket instead! Man, sometimes I even impress myself with how smart I am.

But seriously, thank you guys for sticking with this project for as long as you have, and remaining so passionate about it. Rest assured that I'm working hard to make it the best I possibly can with my current abilities. I appreciate your patience and enthusiasm, it really encourages me to bring out my best.
Every year! Until it's done! The hounding will be relentless, on multiple fronts, and show up every 365 days, just like clockwork! Bwahahahahahaha!

... or maybe not. But I figured I might as well re-express my appreciation since I saw Umbral Soul on the top of the front page again~
Where's my sequel to this masterpiece, Wheelman? I'll hound you every year until you release it.

@EgyLuyz: The extra post Nanikorewa made was well after the 24-hour period. Though, since they reference the same post as before, and there were no posts in between, I suppose it could have been made into an edit as well.

Your double-post, however, feels more like a random site/technology error than deliberate to me.

Synthesia-Piece of cake. All you have to do is hold "shift" to run while moving and you'll make it no problem.

Nanikorewa- I love post games and secret bosses myself, so I was planning on adding those to the sequel as well. It'll be something for you to look forward to.
And also I have suggest already the character in sequel if they want restore light I recommend character that look evil like beast kind(Werewolf/Weretiger etc),demons,Dark elf anything that looks evil for human so in the end of game they become good guy another reason is so boring see human restore light in any game how about some demon that looks nice that can make the game better

Uhh,i need help in rallen's tower.
The fourth floor with fires to be exact (i think the name is "fire gauntlet?")
In the left room there is some sort of a puzzle with insta-kill fires.
i have a problem near the silver treasure chest.
There is 4 fires in straight lane.
I have tried many ways and i still can't go pass them.
Maximum fires i can get through is 3..
Is there any solution so i can reach the silver treasure chest?

jayfeather-Why, I'm glad you asked my good man! I don't think "excited" is a strong enough word to describe how hyped I am to show you everything I've had in the oven regarding Luminous Soul. I'm implementing a lot of great ideas I wanted to try out, and writing the story has been a blast. In fact, I've actually made some changes to Umbral Soul in preparation for the events of Luminous Soul. If there's one thing I can say about the sequel, it's that it will be far from boring. Let's just say I hope you like boss battles.

Nanikorewa- Don't worry, those areas actually can't be unlocked in this game. This is because they won't play a role in the story until the sequel. I wanted to avoid having the player revisit all of the same areas across two different games, so certain areas were locked off.

So there's a sequel then can I suggest something?Add continue after final boss with secret boss that can Rematch every time after end game and secret dungeon because I like those kind of rpg who have secret dungeon and boss after final boss

Nanikorewa-Yup, that would be me! Sorry I didn't address your first question, but I wasn't really sure what you were asking. You'd probably have better luck getting an answer on the forums.

As for your second question, the tower of champions won't open until you've made it to a certain point in the story. Trust me, you'll now it when you see it, so if you keep playing you'll eventually be able to enter.

Knightowl and Varn - I'm psyched to hear that you're enthusiastic enough about the game to play it multiple times. Hey, if you wanna play it again, don't let me stop you. The point of most games is to have fun after all, so if you're having fun, then play away. I think the ultimate edition will have enough tweaks to make one more playthrough worthwhile, what with all the new bells and whistles.

There's a dragon in cell and the imp block in the way,in monster cell azrielle castle an locked door, Azrielle private room that can't access even I have him on party and 2 door in rozalin castle that locked, can't enter sullivan manor and more, how to unlock those?
Hows luminous soul coming up WheelmanZero :D?
