Some people never change, in the true sense of the word. Lysander has stopped aging as a result of events that have inextricably tied him to a specific occurrence in his past. But what if you could go back and change that event? Will you manage to let go of your mistakes or will you irreversibly drown in your regrets?

A Timeless Story is Midori Fragments’ first project.

It features:

- customized sprites;
- original facesets & CGs;
- personalized maps;
- multiple endings.

Available downloads: Italian, English and Spanish.

Notes:
I did the English translation by myself but since English isn’t my native language (we are an Italian team) I’d be glad if you made me notice grammatical errors, gave me advices and so on. Of course, if you find bugs report them to me as well!

Reviews are welcomed, but please don’t be too harsh with the criticism, because, as I said before, this is our very first game.

Translations into other languages, fanarts and gameplays are permitted and also highly appreciated. Please enjoy the game!

Keep up with the news on our upcoming projects on Facebook or Tumblr!

Hi I used to play this game.
it has been about 3 years(?) since I first played.
Now I just want to play again.
This story inspired me too much to be a game developer major in the future.
This is one of the nicest things someone has ever told me, really. ;;
Sorry for the late answer, and I'm happy you managed to fix the problem!
Also, I hope I can work on a remake of A Timeless Story someday, I was just 16 years old when I released it, so I didn't think much on some things and the story ended up kinda rushed-

I really look forward to it!
The game was so nice, i recommended A Timeless Story with A Figment of Discord to my friends.
While A Timeless Story was kinda soothing for me (at first when Lysander travels down the memory lane), A Figment of Discord was pretty thrilling (I died a lot whoops).
My old computer cant handle extra apps since its disk was full so i had to erase A Timeless Story. So when i finally had a new one, i downloaded it right away along with the prequel.
I will root for you and your future projects.

Hello there. Just coming to say that here's the new link for the Spanish translation, since the previous one isn't good. (The old link had some grammar mistakes)

Thank you so much, I will update it!

Can I make a Spanish translation of this game? It was short, yet enjoyable!
Hola.
OMG, I would be so glad! I'm looking forward it! Let me know!
Wait, you can speak Spanish too?

Anyway, here~

No, I can't speak Spanish unfortunately, but since I am Italian... well, I understand a bit of it XD
Thank you very much for your kind translation, I'm going to upload it on our website and, of course, I'll give you the credits!

Thank you so much!
About the double-checking: maybe you haven't noticed, but when you read the letter in the church's bookshelf, it says "on the empty shelf, apart from a big book, there is a letter..." haha XD
And for the silver dagger there was some kind of hint "there is a drawer", but I understand that the shape of the table doesn't help much XD
Upcoming projects? Yessir! We're working on "A Timeless Story"'s prequel now (but I think it will be a trilogy in the end), which hopefully will fill in all the blanks about the secondary characters. Can you guess who will get the leading role? ;)
If you're interested in following all the updates about our next games, there's our Facebook page Midori Fragments; in any case, thanks again for playing, I really really enjoyed your gameplay!

Ok, I clearly forgot tthe apart from a big book part. My bad, sorry for that, and compliment to you for actually teasing it^^

Well if it is a prequel it has to be someone from
the "Alys Timeline"
so I'd assume Alys herself. Maybe even her mom? But I like that their will be more added to the story since
I have no idea why Glenn wanted to have a son so badly, and a story about Daniel's upbringing could be interesting
so i look forward to potentially two more parts :D

Thank you, and I make sure to follow your Facebook (the link in your user profile is not working, but I found it anyway^^). Thanks again for creating this game and good luck! :)

You're so funny! I really enjoyed the intro and your talking about the Roman gods :D
I apologize for the "chiusa", that means "locked" in Italian, I corrected that in the latest version, which I'm uploading now, together with the major glitch in the neutral ending. So glad you liked the graphics, that means they hadn't been a complete failure, haha :)
In the opening video the girl was indeed Alys: pictures within the game were drawn by various artists, so occasionally the characters are slightly different.
Thank you^^

No need to apologize, that was the smallest inconvinience of all time :D

Alrighty, now my thoughts about the game can be found in the end of my LP:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0l3nxrZEm4w&index=2&list=PLutQRqszz0ouZEBY5411hwB5E5krDCwl4

But for those who do not want to watch I'll write the most important parts down^^:

Overall I think this is a very good game given the fact that it is your first. Some small negative criticisms:
- I think double checking stuff in RPG Maker Games (with the hair clip and the dagger) is a bit counterintuitive and a bit unfair^^
- Placing the key to the true/positive ending in the beginning of a game is a bit annoying since you have to replay the whole thing
- The Dellbert part of the story was not fleshed out enough compared to the Alys part
Now the positive aspects:
- I liked the sprites, the drawings and the overall look of the game. It fit the games theme very well.
- I enjoyed the puzzles (with few exceptions)
- The Game had good pacing and always kept me interested in what is going to happen next, which is the most important aspect of a good game imo

So a big thumbs up from me! Thank you for your hard work, I can't wait to see upcoming projects (if there are upcoming projects that is^^)

I started to play your game today; so far (being like halfway through) it looks pretty cool. The story is interesting and I for one enjoy the graphics. I wonder how all of it is going to be resolved in the end, but I suppose I will see. Gonna give my complete thoughts when I finished the game.

P.S: If you want to check out my LP, feel free to do so:

Hi I played some of this game on stream.

If you want to know my thoughts here is the vid.

https://www.twitch.tv/huntingswan/v/68956497

For now, I've just seen the comments and I found them quite rude. I'm sorry for this being my first game. I'm sorry if the translation isn't perfect, as I said I'm Italian.
Tomorrow I'm going to listen to your opinions and I'm going to reply properly to this.
As for now, no, the faucets won't run blood, what a pity. :)
Anyway, maybe it might seem boring at first, but if you go ahead I'm sure you'll find the story more interesting :)

EDIT: Fully watched the video, now.
I'd like to explain that behind the graphic there is a precise intent to create an athmosphere of "unreality", but maybe it didn't hit the target, haha :)
I took inspiration from games like Queen Mary's Script for that!
About the letters: yes, they're from 50 years ago, because, as said in the plot, Lysander has stopped aging.

WALKTHROUGH
Positive End:

Lysander’s bedroom:
-Don’t examine the alarm clock straightaway.
-Click twice on the chest and obtain the hair clip.

Mansion:
-Go to the door on the lower left, enter the room.
-Take the key in the flower pot.
-Take the silver dagger, in the hidden drawer of the table, on the bottom right.
-In the garden, collect the jar of paint.
-In the storage closet, obtain the shears (in the locker), and the brush (in one of the boxes).
-(OPTIONAL) Read the two letters, the first one is in the middle bookcase, the second one in the other box.
-Examine the picture with the cloud.
-Create a gap with the shears between the roses in the garden.
-Wreck the clock with the dagger.

- Go to the door on the top left, enter the room.
-Collect the four fragments, and put them back in their place.
-Read the letter.
-Ignore the timer and destroy the mosaic with the silver dagger. (However, get out of the maze on time is also possible).

- Go to the door on the top right, enter the room.
-Examine the second-to-last grave to the right, in the top row.
-Enter the church.
-Go back to the first room and obtain the watering can. (It’s in the storage closet’s locker, but I’m sure you have already taken it =P).
-Fill it up, clicking on the washbasin.
-Go back to the curch, put the flowers in the vase.
-Go to the next room, climbing the stairs in the church, (OPTIONAL) read the letter on the shelf.
-Go back to the first room and take the ladder.
-Put it under the hole in the ceiling.
-Destroy the clock.

- Go to the door on the bottom left, enter the room.
-In the kitchen, the correct ingredients are 'oranges, onions and oregano'. (because all of them start with the letter “O”, and the note on the table says to choose SIMILAR ingredients).
-Examine the dining room’s door, but don’t open it.
-Hide yourself in the grandfather clock.
-Get out of the clock and wreck it.

- Go upstairs and enter the room on the left.
-(OPTIONAL) Read the letter in the left bookcase.
-In the next room, click several times on the painting.
-Examine the bookshelf in the second part of the flashback, you’ll get a hint for the next puzzle.
-Click on the paintings in the right order, following the tale “Way to Dawn”: 'twilight, daytime, night, dawn'.
-Enter the passage and wreck the clock.
-Back in the green room, notice that a book is missing in the right bookcase.
-Obtain the book, in the church’s shelves.
-Put the book in its place and (OPTIONAL) click again on the shelf to read two letters.

-Now go to the room on the right.
-Examine the piano.
-The three piano keys are placed: in the kitchen sink (an evergreen), in the upper part of the maze, between the plushes.
-Put the piano keys in their place.
-Examining the piano another time, you’ll get a hint about the next clock.
-Examine the top right corner.
-Destroy the clock.

-Go to the last room available.
-Examine the big clock.
-Use the hair clip.

Neutral End:
-You’ll get the neutral end if you find all the clocks, but you didn’t obtain the hair clip.

Negative End:
-You’ll get the negative end if you haven’t found all the clocks.
