This is the story of a couple of traveling Freelance Mercenaries and their quest to save a small, peaceful village from the scourge of the Goblin King and his lackeys.

Originally this started as an idea for a short comic, but I decided it would be a good fit for my first rpg maker game.

It's going to be pretty short, you should be able to play through in one sitting in about an hour, even with the inclusion of the SECRET BOSS FIGHT!!!

I'm also planning on having the difficulty pretty high but balanced to put your rpg skills to the test; after all the Goblin King is rumored to be a masterful swordsman...

Love the graphical style of this!
Yes. Graphic style is very original!
I saw a game image and was like "wow, this gives gives me the vibe of a good webcomic for some reason!", then I saw the project description and laughed at myself.

The idea of it giving off a webcomic kinda vibe is really appealing to me!

Thank you guys very much, I spent way too much time fretting over the look of this game.
I'm still alive and I'm still working on this! Work and life just slowed me down. I'll have new screenshots posted at some point.

Art really sells a game. I clicked because I thought (admittedly, on a small display) that the art was by Setz, somebody I follow. Well, now I'm here, it seems like an amusing game, it's marked Hiatus and not Cancelled, so I subscribe.

See? Art sells games. Even if by complete fluke.
^ Haha, that's kind of what I was banking on. I was trying to compensate for my lack of game design experience by going all in on the art.
