Also whenever you make a domestic room I recommend these two points:
1) Always think of it the way the character will see it. This will help your room look more natural. All that big empty space in a bedroom doesn't even happen in fancy hotel rooms.
2) The functionality of the room. If you're not going to be dodging stuff or having NPCs interact all over the place then it's fine to shrink it down and make it feel more natural.

Of course this is tough because stock tilesets rarely ever include turned versions of their decor but converting things like your bookshelves and cabinets to to side view is easy.
