Before Crisis tells the story of the Investigation Sector of The General Affairs Department, also simply known as Turks, a organization working for the Shinra Electric Power Company, a famous name in the world of Final Fantasy 7.

Before Crisis starts seven years before the events of FF7, and you get to see the daily life of the turks, making missions for the company, fighting against the first group of mercenaries known as AVALANCHE, who are trying to protect the planet from ShinRA, who is little by little destroying it, taking the mako energy from the earth (That in this case, is the planet Gaia).

You basically play as the villain, seeing their perspectives of what they do, even though it may look wrong for everyone else.

Famous characters of the FF7 universe are present, as Reno, Rude, and Tseng. But you play as Shotgun, a rookie starting your first day working for the turks, and you see her journey in those seven years, meeting all the new turks, looking for a reason to keep fighting, and witnessing events that will lead to the beginning of FF7.

*This is a remake of the game Before Crisis released only in Japan.

Hi, I'm really excited about your game, but I can't open it. It says I need RPG Maker 2003 RTP to be registered or installed. I have RPG Maker 2003 installed. Any ideas? I have Windows 10, if that matters. I have literally spent 2 hours trying to figure this out.
Hmm...
Offical vs Unoffical... :I Maybe or it be one win update put not use list???
Youre not only... i have same different case...
Edit: But DRAGONBALLz Legend Z of rpg works... :( ?? And if try copy paste some files, it begin (at target) say i need rpg 2k files?! What the???
Open rpg_rt.ini
Write at the end a new line
RuntimePackageFlag=1

Save and try,
usually with that you
don't need the rtp.

......help.....

Lol, nice username. If changing the rpg_rt.ini doesn't work, it may be something to do with the audio's driver and the music, so maybe try putting on headphones.
Just found this today and am impressed that someone took the time to do this. Although I must say... Needs a little work! I started it and tried it out, there's 5 or 6 different keys to open the menu for some reason, no instructions, some words are still in Portuguese.
Then you have the games files themselves... Buddy, what a mess! I found a copy of Windows XP's Paint, a copy of Mp3 Compressor and didn't really investigate further.
I'd say, make sure you clean up shop before compiling! Speaking of compiling, I'm sure RPG Maker has a way to compile the files into a proper game executable with installer. Unless that's a premium feature.

Thanks for trying it out. I made it in my free time a while ago, but it kind became a bigger project than i thought, with a great deal of text and scenarios to be recreated, so that's why there's some portuguese that slipped by in the menus, as i was the only one to playtest it.
About the folders, i prefer to leave it that way, as i had some problems with installers in the past.

Not sure if you knew this, but you got a shoutout for this on Nerdist. Nice!

That's cool. Thanks for the heads up!
So I have been trying for over an hour to open and play the game. I keep getting the response that RPG maker 2003 is not present...I downloaded RPG maker 2003 which is apparently an RTP file. Still cannot play the game. Help please?

If you have a phone or tablet with android, you can install easyrpg and play it there.
Actually I figured it out. Issues with 7-zip. Great game so far. Thank you for taking the time to do this!

Uh final question: What are the controls? I am on a Laptop, I have figured out the battle system, I think, and figured out ESC goes to menu. I was looking for a readme file or something like that so I wouldn't sound too noob-ish,
It would be awesome if you could get a native english speaker to go through the script for this game and correct errors.

I'd be willing to do it, but I appreciate that updating the game might be a huge hassle on your part.

Thank you for your work on this nevertheless, I'm all for the revival and preservation of lost games.

It's not really the case of bad english, but of it being a massive amount of text to go through. When i made it, i inserted the text at the same time that i was ripping graphics and recreating the scenarios, while playtesting over and over to find any bug. That's why these typos slipped by unnoticed.
Even today, to go through every event on every map, to fix every typo and playtest it to see that no event got broken by accident, i don't have the energy to do it. Did try, but it's just too much text to go through.
I'm playing on a 1440p monitor so it won't display in fullscreen. I'm able to play windowed if I hit Alt+Enter, but the window is tiny. How do I make the window larger?

I honestly would recommend you to put easyrpg on the phone (if you use android) and play it there. It will not look very good playing on a big screen.
About the question, i believe the resolution is fixed to stretched in full screen or original res in windows mode. Mayyybe you can do something by looking scaling option in your graphic's driver.
