Bizarre Persona 3 style monsters, a compelling supernatural mystery set in modern day, and cute girls to date, combined with Etrian Odyssey dungeons and brutal, unforgiving bosses! Fake Happy End places you in control of a team of young adults, who soon realize only they can see the tower that has mysteriously appeared in the middle of town. Why has it appeared, and why can't anyone else see it? Traverse it, and find out!

Features:
- Maps are hidden when you first enter them. Explore to reveal what's lurking within the darkness. Treasures? Traps? Or maybe a deadly foe!
- No random encounters! All enemies can be seen on screen and must touch the player to trigger a fight. If you're daring, you may attempt to beat the game without fighting a single non-boss encounter...
- Turn based movement. Enemies don't move until you do, giving you all the time you need to plan out your route and leave them in your wake.
- Equip skills with various effects and use them as the situation demands. Skills use ability points (AP) that regenerates automatically and resets at the end of combat. No need to manage a limited MP resource pool. No boring spamming of a default attack.
- Meet and get to know three delightful girls, each with their own defining traits and unique personalities. Take care of them and they'll have your backs as you seek to solve the tower's mysteries together.
- The term 'ass warmth' used in a complete sentence. Where and in what context? Only one way to find out...

I'm pretty sure that as long as you're 'a circle' (doujin or indie) that isn't a corporate you can make profit for it? This line specifically:

From what I can see, the last line is about 'charging for the characters or GACHA' is not allowed. Correct me if I'm wrong. Although looking at it now, he did use a Touhou character which is a problem.
Oh yeah, now that I read it again, it does seem like making a profit is possible for indie/doujin products. I'm not sure what 課金制 means though, but GACHA means in-game purchases, which I don't think this game has.

EDIT: I've checked that 課金制 has to do with subscription fees and such, which this game obviously doesn't have too.
I was told that the '有償問わず' segment specifically meant the game had to be non-profit to count? I'm just forwarding what I've been told on the matter there.

Also if the non-Touhou battlers turn out to be okay, the Touhou-inspired sprites are specifically the ones you'll find here and on the connected subpages:

http://cyanyurikago.web.fc2.com/material-hanken.html
No, 無償・有償問わず means regardless of whether the product is free or commercial. I think your friends got it confused thinking that 問わず means not allowed when it actually means regardless of. Proof: http://tangorin.com/general/問わず

So this sentence 個人製作、サークル製作作品については、無償・有償問わずにお使いいただけます。means the Touhou sprites can be used in indie/circle/doujin products regardless of whether the product is free or commercial.

In other words, Neok is safe on paper. But of course, better be safe than sorry.
Okay, I just stayed up all night fixing this mess. No more accidental touhou in fhe. Morale a little shaken, but I'll live. Also fixed a continuity issue with skipping visiting the shopkeep the first time he's around.

Thanks for the heads up about the terms and what not, you guys. Seriously really appreciate it. Alice, I... think it's okay. Eplipswich is the best japanese to english translator I know and has translated numerous games, so I definitely trust him to know what he's talking about here. And Ness too.

Regardless, definitely gonna be much more prudent about this stuff in the future. Hard lesson: Just because it doesn't look like a touhou doesn't mean it's not a touhou. And research carefully instead of blindly charging forward like I'm not trying to do this for a living.
Alright, I checked the sprites over on my NG+ run and everything seems clear now. Thanks for the quick response!

Unfortunately I have another bug to report on that front. >< The gates on F61 don't seem to work properly on NG+ - all but one of the buttons are already pressed, but the gates are all still up and pressing the fourth one doesn't make the gates go down. Am I missing something? :<

I'm so sorry. Apparently I am losing my marbles, because while I'd swear it was working properly when I tested it, looking at it now, I have no idea why it would've worked when I somehow managed to miss the code to reset those switches.

Thank you, and immediate bug fix going up. Also really wanting to take a mulligan on this whole game launch thing. I am so in over my head :(.

You're still doing very well, even though there have been some hiccups. It's impossible to be 100% perfect on these things. You can do it! ^_^
Just want to clarify in case I seemed too negative - the game was good enough that I was up until 3am last night playing it, so clearly you're doing things right.

On that note I just rounded up on what I think is a 100% clear.

(SPOILERS)
I got both endings (is the destroy ending Karin only, or is it after you've done all three dates?) and unlocked the afterword.

I had a really fun time with it, so thanks again for the experience! :D
Thanks you guys. I'm feeling much better now about all this.

And wow, I'm glad to hear it! Yeah that's 100%. Congrats and thanks for playing all the way through :).

Edit: Sorry, missed your question.

Yeah it's Karin only, and only accessible after all 3 dates.

Still playing this and very much enjoying it! :D It's taking me a while (I'm only on Floor 20), but only because I'm spending most of my free time on the Winterruption game-making event. I'll let you know what I think when I beat the game ^_^
Sweet, no worries. Take your time!
Whoah, didn't realize this existed. Given the hours I spent on A.I.L.A., I'm more than happy to be able to pay for a commercial release of a Neok game, let alone one with Etrian Odyssey elements.

That said, looking at the steam listing, it's got a nudity tag, and the mature content description says it may contain sexual content. What's the spice level of this thing? If it's actually non-spicy, the page might be scaring off players who prefer non-spicy. On the other hand, if it's very spicy, the page is probably not being clear enough about that.

Neok's online presence seems to have finished with a final retweet on Aug 24, 2017. I hope they're okay ;(

edit: Never mind! They've been posting on RMW up until Dec 2, 2018. Phew!

edit #2: Still would be nice to see where they've been in the past 10 months, though. *sweats*

As someone who's played this, it has a lot of "girls in sexy situations" but to my memory there wasn't actually any sex or anything super explicit.

Gameplay and characters are great, but it's def a game that enjoys it's fanservice XD

Yeah, I agree. Neok is awesome and I wish this game had done better, and it'd be cool to hear from them more.
Thanks, unity!

Fanservice isn't my jam, but I'm curious enough about the mechanics to fight through it. I will check this out.
heh, I am also here to check how NeoK's doing these days. Kinda remember alter aila after all these while.
