*Investigation Theme Starts Playing*

Why, hello again everyone. I know it's not mid-October yet, but I just wanted to share something I've been working on. So the investigation of the first case is still being worked on, but I've largely abandoned working on that for the time being in favor of working on some of the last graphical things that I have yet to make. Mainly for the trials. I mean, I'll have to work on the trial anyways right after finishing up the investigation, so might as well get all this out of the way before I even get there.

So I'm sure as you've seen from the mock-ups in the image section and on the game page that it looks like the trial graphics look pretty well finished and done with. So what have I been working on? Well, as you're no doubt aware if you've played the Ace Attorney games, "Witness Testimony" is shown in big letters right before a witness gives their testimony. Similarly "Cross-Examination" is shown right before you do your cross-examination. Here's a picture in case you don't know what I'm talking about.

I need to make up similar graphics for Danganronpa Team. Four of them, in fact. Two of them are going to be for when you're facing the prosecution's argument. So one of the graphics (which has already been done and is shown below) will have "Argument" in big letters. Its counterpart will be "Rebuttal". But there are two more graphics beyond that, because you're not just going to be arguing against the prosecution in trials. I need to make one for "Witness Testimony" and "Cross-Examination" as well. I'm also considering making one for when you "Appeal to the Jury", but I'll have to think about that.

Of course, these graphics aren't just going to be something bland like it is in Ace Attorney. Danganronpa Team has a style going on that I'm trying to adhere to. So these graphics will take a bit of time to make. I have to put some thought into their design and then make and manipulate them to create an animation with them that I can use in-game. I'll probably take care of the animation bit once I actually get into making the first trial, though. For now, I'm more concerned with just thinking up this stuff and actually making it.

Like I said, I've already made up one of these graphics. The one for the prosecution's argument. I wanted to make something that wasn't just stylish, but something that popped. Hopefully, I've accomplished that. Here you can get a sneak peek of it:

So like I said, I've got a few other things like this to make. I have ideas for all of them, so hopefully they'll go smoothly. I'll try to get 'em done and get back to working on the investigation as soon as I can.

Other than that, I have to do a little something else graphically for the showdowns (besides what I've already done), but it's nothing nearly as time-consuming or complex as this other stuff I'm working on. So I can just do that when I get on to the first trial as well.

So that's the deal. I'll be posting another update on the fifteenth, but hopefully with what I've said here in mind, you won't be upset when the first case isn't done by then (because real talk, it probably won't be). These graphical things do take hours for me to make, so it's not like I can just whip this stuff up in under an hour and get back to working on the game proper right away. It's a time-consuming process, but it's one that I think really pays off.

Oh, and I'm not sure I mentioned it in the last blog post, but I did get who's going to be on the defense/prosecution team figured out for each individual case. So with that, once this graphical stuff is done, I'll be all ready to go once I get to the first trial.

That's all I can think of to mention in this update. See you in the next update!

This came sooner than expected, but I have to say the art direction is spectacular! I can't wait to see more!
