You're a COP who has to talk a SUICIDAL MAN down from a ledge.

Push him too hard and he'll jump, but get him to open up and he'll reveal a terrible secret...

A 10-minute narrative thriller based on the short story "Man With A Problem" by Donald Honig (1958). Featuring a custom 80s synth soundtrack by Beaufort.

My first RM game, so I welcome all feedback, especially from PC testers (I only have Mac).

NOTE: This game features mature themes and therefore isn't suitable for children. Also, please be aware this is not an educational experience and should not be used for training purposes. If you know anyone with depression or suicidal thoughts, please urge them to seek professional help.

The Ledge Update 2

Second update made to the game with a few changes based on player feedback.

- Text in boxes made bigger.
- Couple of NPC's outside building have had their pictures fixed.
- Region restrictions on building added, so people can't walk on windows.

Hi Hatsuchiin, thank you!

There are two endings, but neither of them are happy...
Great narrative and ending! Just wondering if there are multiple endings here? I've been playing around with the answers and I've always landed on the same spot.

This was just awesome. Best 10 minutes I chose to use up all week. After I finished this, I went on Amazon and tried to find some of this Donald Honig guys writing, and couldn't. Anyways, thanks for taking the time to make this; it was fun. :)

Thanks theloathableone! Glad you enjoyed. I don't have any of Honig's writing as he was mostly a sports writer, but I do have Man With A Problem scanned from a Hitchcock anthology. Email me if you want it: wearebeaufort at gmail dot com.

Wow.

Also, I found a glitch while on the ledge. If you walk down you can walk over the building.

Oh no! Thought I fixed all those glitches...thanks for letting me know, will have another look at the files, may have forgotten to replace the downloads.

What system are you playing it on? Mac or PC? I've tested it in Windows 7 and OSX El Capitan.

A really great game, not without it's fault... like I managed to walk all over a window, and find a cool spot to stand on, but it was really interesting!

Yeah, walk-through windows. Totally intentional. *fixes region paths*

Sweet. Thanks guys! And thanks for the catch atasuke! Will replace that sound on the next build.
loved the ending, this game sure was interesting.
It was a nice little short, the ending caught me a bit off guard even though there were very slight hints. :P
Everything seemed seamless except for a verrrry slight inconsistency when the bald guy goes in through the door it makes a different sound then when you do but its a door sound idc really.
I didn't get any performance issues it ran very smooth for me.
Mapping while there weren't many maps, felt balanced and i loved all the movement in the intro.
