The tower binds together the worlds as it winds on a seemingly infinite path. Something seeks passage as a hidden hunger rises.
Three, separated from their own worlds, venture forth.

Fray, Wardo, and Chantel find themselves in an unfamiliar place. The tower beckons, reaching up into the heavens.

Ascent is a game made for the 3rd McBacon Jam. The theme is Inspiration. The main inspiration for this game comes from a certain RPG series that started on the gameboy, but it also contains inspirations from many other games we have loved over the years.

Initial Download Added!

The game's demo is up and ready to be played! Please be aware that we've used a some placeholder graphics, so if something looks like RTP or looks incomplete, there's a good chance we know about it and just didn't get a chance to get it redone in time.

Aside from that, the whole "Base World" quest can be played, aside from the Tower. We'll probably be making a lot of changes to the game, as we were rushed near the end, but I think I speak for all of us when I say I am very proud to have gotten this far and gotten out a demo! :DDDDDD

RTP is required for this version, because of said placeholders ^^;;

Playing the demo right now and I'm really enjoying what's here! The weapon changing mechanic changing your skills as well as your stats upon level up is pretty cool. I didn't expect to not be able to run from battles, which ended up getting me killed, haha.

Couple issues I noticed:

- Kaelodyne and Vaberdyne are usable outside of battle.
- Make sure to take out Rhyme's Window Identifier script. I can hold Control and view a bunch of window names.

Overall, I'm pretty excited to see what's next!

Thanks, Red! :D Zeig fixed the issues you mentioned, and there was some cases of text cutoff and those have hopefully now been fixed as well!
This is looking really good I'll have to keep watching this. (+1SUB)

As much as I love the art of this game, it is probably dead. It was a jam game that didn't come together quite like we wanted it. My apologies.

If you don't mind me plugging another project, Jo and I are collaborating on another game now, called Eye of Uzola, which has graphics much like this game.
I'll check it out soon, thanks for the suggestion.
