A Night At Hotel Deuce is a short horror indie game made for RPG Maker VX Ace. And I think this makes it the third game I have played and reviewed that belongs to SnowOwl.

In true SnowOwl fashion you can expect a game filled with incredibly well done graphics, a deep and dark atmosphere, and eerie noises in the background. SnowOwl does very well in executing the atmosphere in his games, and this game is probably the best out of the three I have played so far.



Claire and her mother decide to spend the night at the worst hotel in existence. When Claire wakes up in the middle of the night she finds that her mother is gone. She now must search the hotel in an attempt to find her mother. This is the sort of game where you need to go everywhere and try to interact with everything. And you might need to revisit a room you have already been in after completing some other task. During this portion of the game play you are given some text based choices, which I'm unsure have any effect on the actual outcome of the game. There are also a couple of quick time events where you need to press the arrow keys very quickly.



This isn't the sort of game you come for the game play though. The game play is just sort of a pathway to the experience. This is a game you play to have it show you something. You want to see what happens in each room. It's more about an experience or a feeling. While the game play isn't deep, what the game has to show you is worth seeing. I recommend giving the game a try. It isn't difficult and it doesn't take long to complete. I give this game a 3.5 / 5.
