A Short Game About Battling Monsters

I don't really record the playtime, but i think it lasts for about 1 hour.

Intro
RTP is a short game where you explore some areas and battle monsters until you find and kill the boss.

Graphics
Most (if not all) the assets are default assets. The mappings looks great too. I'm also impressed by the fact that the enemy changes color whenever they cast a buff for themselves.

Music
The music has a heroic vibe which fits the "saving the world" theme. I can't really say much since i don't really remember about it.

The game
You'll start in a room, which is randomly selected based on your randomly selected class, without any dialog which explains what to do. After you get out of the room, you'll engage in a battle to get a randomly selected party member. After that, there is a third party member in the next area which you can choose from 3 different (and randomly selected) class. Well, although the concept is great, you'll be in trouble if you are in a party with no party member that can heal.

Speaking of class, there are 9 different playable characters in this game. Each classes will have their own different skill set. They will have 4 skills, one for gaining some MP, two inferior skills, and one being the most powerful attack. I haven't tried all class, but i think that some classes are unbalanced. A class like cleric is good because you can heal and deal decent damage although a class like warlock is useless since it can only heal in two turns (and you have to spend MP for the healing cost) and although the class can summon a minion, the minion is very weak that you have to let it buff itself every turn until the enemy is dead.

There is no random encounter in the game--you can choose which enemies you want to battle by pressing the action button. Although you can restore some HP and MP after each battle, you'll use most of your MP after each battle because you have to spam your strongest attack (which took like 80% of your MP) to kill the enemy. The inferior skill will took about 60% of your max MP, which is kinda useless to use since your MP restoring skill only restores MP by around 3 MP (out of... ~10). You mostly will spend the battle to regain MP for the strongest attack.

You can have your "tutorial" from the menu.

There are some achievements in the game which will affect your total score. Some aspect requires you to do speed runs and utilize your character's skill. I kind of confused about Paladin's achievement target though since it said that i have to cast Retribution skill although i didn't have it. Sadly, there is no counter or something to track of these achievements.

In this game, you'll mostly explore the areas and find a boss to beat the game. However, you can't return to the place where you come from so you can't really fight all the enemies (and bosses). I say bosses because there are 4 different final bosses in the game.

And lastly, you can't save in the game. If you die, it's game over.

Pros:
- 3 out of 9 different playable class
- 4 different final bosses
- No random encounter
- Achievements

Cons:
- No tutorial
- Unbalanced class
- Characters relying too much on MP
- No save function

Conclusion
This is a short game where you battle enemies until you reach the end boss.

Thanks for the review, just 2 things that stood out to me:

-Unbalanced class
I hear this a lot, but when I ask who people think are the strong or weak classes in the game, I always get different answers. I've heard some players say they find the Necromancer incredibly strong, and is one of their favourite classes.

-I kind of confused about Paladin's achievement target though since it said that i have to cast Retribution skill although i didn't have it.
Retribution is the skill you get after activating Martyr.
by Necromancer, do you mean Warlock? well, it might be because of different play style (especially because i tend to heal a lot). but just as i said before, for me, the minions are too weak; they doesn't deal decent damage and they must use their skills first if you don't want them to die and the monsters usually die first before the minion is ready for attacking. it might be because i'm too obsessed with the buffs, but who knows.

ah, i see. i didn't really notice the skill. i hardly activate martyr when i got paladin so that might be the case. well, i kinda figures that it'll work like that, although i'm too lazy to try it (i don't really like to use paladin anyways).

anyways.. great work!
