What would you do if you awoke in a nightmarish version of your own house?
Cara is a short narrative-driven horror adventure which tells the tale of a young girl who awakes in a twisted parody of her house with her memories stolen. With the help(?) of her teddybear, Cara makes her way through through the mysterious labyrinth using her wits and skills to solve puzzles and stay alive whilst trying to discover the truth about the events that unfolded in her house

Hidden throughout the game is a cleverly concealed storyline which is both thought provoking and surprisingly interesting for a game of it's length. Inspired by classical horror games and the work of rough sketch, Cara provides some short entertainment with simple puzzles as well as something to theorise over if you are into that sort of thing. reading between the lines is essential in order to find the story woven into the house.

Cara was made over the course of 10 days for the Halloween horror 2016 event. A full version of Cara will become available in the future if enough interest is shown by the community!

If you find any bugs are glitches or have any criticism please notify me so I can attempt to fix the issue as soon as possible :')

NOTE: There is a glitch in the final room which is being patched, please refer to the blog.

Patching Of the Demo and Clarification

Tonight a patch will be released for the Demo/Halloween version of Cara that will allow you to explore the final room and will also fix spelling errors found within the game. The update will also remove some unused music files within the game which will reduce the size of the file by somewhere between 20-40 megabites,

Depending on feedback received I might start working on the full version or simply start a new project so if you are interested in the game please send me a message or express your interest!! Several little updates adding secrets may be added in the completion of the game for the few that subscribed or have interest in the game!

Sorry for all the confusion but I won't pull a Sean Murray on any of my projects and will do my best to fix any issues :)

This looks so god damn Creepy..I'll be looking forward to it..even tho i'll wet pants
Go to sleep, Cara~ ;p
After I play the matching room, the game stops working properly. If I click on the window, the game won't do anything. If I click on something else, the music plays but that's it. What do I do?

I'm working on that now... That is the final room in the demo and is getting patched now :)
Well I want to see a full version of this game. I looked at it because of the Hallween contest (I'm surprised a demo did so well!) and I like it so far. With a bit of polishing, I think it'd be a great one. Here's some bugs I found:

Both the red and scarlet music boxes are the correct solution (the bear was lying?)

If you pick the wrong music box, the dialogue enters a loop where it asks "reach in and grab it?" And when I pick "no," it doesn't let me leave, but instead just asks again.

In the bloody room after the first blue flame flashback, you can walk through the back wall opposite the portrait.

You can also run onto the table after taking the jar of bugs off it.

There's no walls in the final room.

Also, if possible, could there be less blood on the ground? As with "The Convent" I think it detracts from the atmosphere.
