TRICK OR TREAT!

It's that time of year again: where everyone dresses up in the best costume they can find, in the mad hunt to see who can collect as much Candy Corn as possible! In this episode, our heroes are heading out for for their yearly Trick or Treat expedition. But just before they leave, the door bell rings!

It seems someone has brought them a mysteeeeerious present! And the present, from an unknown giver, turns out to be a Scary Board Game! The player will control the actions of our heroes, Alice, Natalie and Felicia, while Ms Fusion, their "parental figure", acts as Dungeon Master.

SGS Halloween Board Game

SGS: Halloween Edition Board Game, is a single player horror themed Board Game. The game itself is an original creation, with inspiration from other popular horror board games.

The gameplay takes place on a single game board, where the player finds themselves in a haunted manor. They must explore, battle enemies, and find out what it is they must do before they can escape! Players will exchange turns with the AI, acting as Dungeon Master, who will draw cards which can have harmful (and sometimes even unsettling) effects. The AI will also summon enemies which the players must fight, while making their way around the manor in order to discover their way out!

Features

- Spooky
- Randomized board game elements, guaranteeing that the player will have a different experience each time.
- Completely Custom Artwork, by me!
- Completely original board game system, by yours truly.
- Single player board game experience!
- SCAAAAARY Horror stuff!
- A MYSTERIOUS PRESENT
- Several cards, and varieties of cards which have an affect on each play-through!
- The Dungeon Master AI shifts its style during gameplay!
- Following the Halloween event, the game will be expanded! While it will have plenty of content out of the box, the goal is to keep it constantly replay-able, while adding new scenarios.
- Will soon include Quick Play mode (skips introduction, immediately begins a new board game).
- Will soon include a comprehensive Game Manual!

What the blank is Super Girl Squad, btw?

SGS is an RPG Maker MV production series I am currently creating which will contain various "episodes" the player can choose at will, each with different goals, all styled as if one were playing a cartoon. The goal is to produce a game where, if people enjoy it, can constantly have "episodes" added to the game which can be played. This game will be included as Episode 0 when that product is finally released (date TBD), and will contain to remain as a stand-alone product.

So, this is a spin-off of a greater project? Graphics were made especially for this or for SGS? Anyway you made loads of work in such a short period.

Thanks, and good question! 95% of the graphics were made especially for this Halloween Project. The game board, Halloween costumes, animations, and everything you see on the game board is made for this Halloween Board Game. The only thing from the SGS main series would be the neighborhood screenshot, which comes from a cutscene when the girls are trick-or-treating (and even then, I added a few things such as a Pumpkin House!).
Cool! I'm definitely curious about the outcome of this project. Graphics look charming as well. Keep it up!

Thanks buddy! It's been a lot of work to do in one week, but I hope everyone enjoys it! Today I'm finishing the battle system, and tomorrow I got a bunch of different "cards" to still add. Then, I gotta' play test it a bunch. But it should be ready to go before that Halloween Event ends!

Is it strange I'm now thinking of Cold at Heart as a board game? I've been up for far too long.
You should definitely add some hidden CaH Easter Eggs here and there. Heck, if you don't make a poster of BUDDIE and add it to the game, I may have to write a not-so-happy 1-star review for ya.

Hmm, I think I could do something like that!

Also, game is released! Note: This is the event edition, give me a day or two and I'll have up the full version! Will also be adding an instructional booklet, and explaining the combat system.
Jumanji: The PC board game based on a board game in a movie. Also randomisation. Woo~

I found this a neat play! Loved the animations for the cards and for the girls attacks (though they go by so fast it's easy to miss them, but this has the advantage of keeping the gameplay very fast).

It's fun, and I look forward to more expanding on this.

You seemed to enjoy it too, thanks! I'll have your play-through on my page soon.

Awe, thanks Unity! I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed it.

I have some plans to expand the animations (Liberty mentioned they seemed too short as well), as well as to add some more cards and scenarios. Definitely have more to expand on. Thank you for the feedback!
Played and completed it. Good job, Gredge! It could work as a perfect minigame for a bigger project.

Btw, can't remember the name of the main song and I know I heard it before! Can you give me a hint?

Awesome, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Hopefully I'll find a way to link it into the SGS main series, perhaps as an extra episode. Only thing I didn't think about: Common Events and variables. Roughly 100 CEs and 50 vars for this project that need to be rearranged to fit into the big project. I guess that's my cost for eventing everything and never learning how to script!

As for the Title Screen music, that's the RPG Maker 2k shop theme remade for RPG Maker MV. If you have a season pass for RMMV, they'll release graphics and sounds, many of which are remixes of classic BGMs. I mainly have the season pass for all of the extra sound effects and music it gives you.
