Have you ever heard about the Toymaker?

Toymaker is an RPG that takes place in a dark, snow-filled world, where life is harsh and the people living there have become hard and cold. In this place, the darkness has eyes, the winter wind whisper with a piercing voice and the frost hungers for warm flesh.

In this prologue, that takes place before the main game, you take on the role of Baldor, a trapper, and guardian of your people. When you were a child, you and another boy played too close to the forbidden Field of candles. There, something came out, and took the other boy, leaving you behind with nightmares and a silent obligation to keeping the village safe.

But lately strange things have begun to happen. Dangerous flesh-eating animals have started to come closer and closer to the village.

The midwinter night draws ever nearer, with a cold darkness that seems to follow your every move.

- Traverse a dark, twisted world unlike anything you’ve ever played before. Face creatures made from humans strangest dreams, and meet crafty gnomes and proud reindeers.

- Battle weird things created from darkness and light, in a world where healing is never fast and wounds take a long time to mend.

- Make choices that affect the people in this world. Everyone can die, even you. Every path affects your characters, shaping their story.

- How much will you sacrifice to see the end of your journey?

This game is a three year long labour of love. I’ve made everything myself, from graphics, to design and music. I love it, and hopefully you will give it a chance so you might love it too.

The full game will be released at the beginning of 2017. In the meantime, this stand-alone prologue is available, for free, to try out. It's shorter than the main game, and is designed to flesh out parts of the story, and to give a small taste of what Toymaker will contain.

Toymaker uses the classic RPG maker 2003 engine as the stone to carve its saga on. Polish and breaking it, until something unique was made.

Thank you for your time.

Toymaker has been Greenlit!

I started my Greenlight campaign back in September. And Toymaker got Greenlit yesterday, when I slept, almost exactly 4 months later.

To be honest I'd given up on getting Greenlit a while back. The response for Toymaker was very strong on the first week, but soon died out to a few votes a month. So last month I decided to continue with my plans of publishing Toymaker, with or without Steam, early this year (2017).

As a first step I published: Toymaker – Prologue (a stand-alone demo) here on Rpgmaker.net, to build up some interest for my upcoming game. And the response was really, really good. Better than I had hoped for.

I got some more votes on Greenlight too, and a little consistent traffic. Not that much, really, but definitely noticeably more. And then suddenly, poff, I was Greenlit. I can't say if that's why Toymaker got Greenlit, but I can't find any other thing that influenced it.

So thank you very much! Everyone here that went and looked, voted, and commented on Toymaker. It meant the world to me.

The game was basically finished when I went into the Greenlight campaign. But there’s always things you can improve and change, which I’ve done these last months. The only thing left is a little more testing, and a lot of the behind-the-scenes-work with the different publishers, and then it will be out.

Thank you.

My name is totes more readable now
I saw this game on Greenlight a while ago and I'm surprised that it hasn't been greenlit yet. Either way, I love the look of this game and I wish you the best of luck with your Greenlight campaign!
Awesome. The parallax and custom tilesets are really well done, and I like the monster designs. Good luck with your campaign on Steam!
This looks amazing. Downloaded, and yes-voted on Greenlight.

It's very kind of you all to comment on the game. I appreciate it very much.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write your review. It made my day when I read it.
Thank you! If you ever need testers or anything, send me a PM. My gam mak points are pretty much all invested in writing, so I'm unlikely to ever do my own game, but I'm always happy to test stuff.
