Is the story really bad or is it just the grammar issues?

.dot world by Kanattakun
Length: ~1.5 hours

Have you ever played a game by Mogeko? He's a pretty great game dev, and I've quite enjoyed all of his games. And if I had to describe this game in one sentence, I'd probably just say ''A Mogeko inspired game but way less polished and filled with grammar issues that make the game really hard to understand''

The game has many goods, but a lot of bads too. As usual I'll start off by going over the graphical aspect of the game. This game actually has some very beautiful aesthetics. The purple and blue colors work really nicely. Sprite and tile wise, the game's quite awesome, even though the sprites do have some 1x1 pixels in them, but it becomes easy to overlook as you play. The art is really nicely drawn too, granted some of the portraits feel a little disproportionally sized in comparison to each other, and some things look off, but it's definetly good. The developer says that they'll be improving the art in the next version and I look forward to that, since if the art is already good it's just gonna get even better. The music and sounds are quite nice too, although sometimes the sound effects take too long to finish playing and you can move around during them time, allowing you to create sound effect spam.

Also, there's shadows on both sides of walls, which makes no sense.

Well, sadly, there isn't much more to the game beyond that. The story feels rushed. It has a decent base idea but it gets hard to tell what is going on, most likely because of the grammar issues. Besides, sometimes it feels like it contradicts itself. Most of the characters also simply go from asshole to nice to asshole again and then nice again. Here's looking at you, Alphose and Agni. Bunny is a pretty lame main character who I never really liked. In fact, the only character I found really likeable in this game was Cheshire, though at least Agni and Alphose became somewhat likeable towards the ending too (Agni much more than Alphose)
The motives of the characters were often confusing, especially in Alphose's case.
It also made no sense to me how she says she asked her bro to make her a doll to live in the dot world with Usagi, but then she never even went and talked to Usagi. Not to mention that she seems to have a big fight with her bro for absolutely no reason, and she says she hasn't seen her bro in a long time aswell, even though you'd think Agni would take the time to visit her.

Battles were extremely simple, and all I had to do was use the skill ''reverse'' since it basically attacks the enemy twice (which is really op because you deal about 700 damage per turn). In fact, near the beginning, you can't even get hurt because the Rabite's and Cheshire both have such low attack, and you need to get hurt for the first bad ending... I'd say, but even after I went into the editor and made the rabite's extremely strong and they killed me, I couldn't get the first bad ending, because the dev probably forgot to implement it.

Look at these guys tho, they're absolutely adorable!

In a lot of ways, it is easy to tell that this game is inspired largely by Mogeko's games. Firstly, the sound effects are mostly taken from the same site Mogeko uses for his own games. Secondly, the character design extremely resembles Mogeko's designs, not to mention all characters have pure white skin which is something Mogeko does a lot. There's a bonus room which has the same stuff that Mogeko's bonus rooms have - A gallery, character infos, bonus stories etc. In fact, one of the bonus stories has a chase scene that's almost identical to something Mogeko would make - A straight passage with tons of monsters chasing you and appearing out of nowhere, and if you take a wrong turn you can randomly die without any warning. This is also extremely dumb, by the way, since it's basically luck based. Oh, did I mention that if you lose that chase scene and you try again, the rabites stay spawned, so you basically have to load your latest save file. Oh did I mention that if you leave the ''bonus room 3'' map, save, and try to go back there you'll basically be stuck on a black screen? Yeah.

This area was really hard to navigate, by the way. I think it'd be better off if you made the borders clearer by making them all hearts.

All in all, .dot world isn't horrible, but it has a lot of flaws that should probably be fixed. The developer says they'll be updating it, so when the time comes I'll probably give the game another go and change my rating if it's any better. I give it two and a half madbites out of five.

You saw it---- Yeah I made it when I was obsessed with mogeko's games ; v ; Well that's why I'm making the 2nd version now. This game is my first game after all TT_TT I drew the graphics with mouse only and I never re-checked this game after completing it, thus the (many) mistakes.
Thank you for the review for my game(s)! >.<

For a first game, it's actually quite good and has a ton of potential, so I look forward to seeing it being improved upon!
