[[ UPDATE: Somehow this game won two Misaos: Trippiest Game and Best Shyamalan. I'm confused and appreciative. ]]

Epileptics beware: There’s a lot of flashing at points.

In honour of the release of Resident Evil 7... Enter the survival humour!

It's 2002. Jill and Tom have escaped the HELL of Umbrella to find the city crawling with flesh HUNGRY beasts, HIDDEN sex clubs, DEMONIC game show hosts and MATT LeBLANC (Lost in Space). Their mission: IT IS ESCAPE.

Will you help them survive the horror?

REISE is a bizarre mess that shouldn’t have been made. Starting life as the sequel to a terrible Resident Evil fan game from 2003, it gradually mutated into a Matt LeBlanc infested fever dream.

  • 5-7 hours long (really)

  • Offensive side quests

  • Haphazardly balanced combat

  • Occasionally funny dialogue

  • Bright colours

  • Play as Tom

  • Execution by flamethrower

  • 50% Horror; 50% stupidity

This game has been tested to a decent standard. I’m confident that most of the major bugs have been found and corrected. If you do discover something I’ve missed, please let me know. Also, this game was created with resources I’ve amassed over the years. Most of their origins are now unknown to me. If the original creator wants credited/ has objections, drop me a line.

People seem to be having an issue solving the keypad puzzle. Here's the answer:

REISE v1.03 update

* I played through the game on a Windows XP machine equipped with an Athlon XP 2600+ and 1GB of DDR RAM. I'm confident it will run on anything. *

==============
v1.03 changes
==============
1) Added Break Skills tutorial.
2) Added correct IF HERO facing conditions for troublesome doors/ objects. This prevents the player activating Touch Events by accident.
3) Removed the splash screens if a save is present. If a save is detected, the title menu will appear instantly.
4) Took 1 second off of the display time for Tom's tips.
5) Explained to the player how to end tape playback early.
6) Highlighted the door to the optional storage room in The Office area.
7) Highlighted the control panels in the Achievement Room.
8) *Hopefully* fixed various problems with the optional Ghost Hunting mini-game.
9) Added a side quest and a small area. They were in the original game plan, but I couldn’t be bothered until recently.

710. 1910 converted to 12 hour time.

People seem to be having trouble with the code. I should maybe address this.
Alright cool. Btw, is there any chance to come back to Bone garden once more at this point?

Ja, please.^^
@Red-Cube

I'm afraid not. The point of no return is the blast door that leads to the Rocket area. I put a warning, but I'm thinking I should do something like the Yakuza games do before their cut off. They ask you to create a separate save for side questing, etc.
I forgot to mention, you can get stuck in ghost hunting events (I'm not sure if that happens on all of them). Light up candles, give tablets to people but not putting the food to the ground and pressing shift freezes the game completely. I had to reset my game few times because of this.
Haha, oh my god this game was so bizarre!
There were parts I really didn't understand, and even though the game was a deliberate attack on the senses, the game was actually quite fun!

Sadly I didn't complete the game in one sitting, but I might return later for another dose of madness

Here's a video of my play through of the game for anyone interested:

@Vo0do0leW

Most of it isn't meant to be understood ha ha I don't know if I fully understand it. I'll warn you by saying it gets less comprehensible as it goes on.
Thanks a bunch for making this game, this is the one that actually got me into resident evil, also in general it's just a masterful piece of shitposting, I hope one day I can make something just like this, you're a big inspiration, bless your kokoro.
I can't wait to get twentyfour24's RE4 remake~
@NewPaperRadSon Cheers for playing through this thing. I must warn you though: you are probably on some sort of government list now haha

@sawworm Resident Evil 4 is pretty surreal to start with!
Revisited this game on my Twitch stream last weekend!
Well, some friends told me about this earlier today. 7 hours later and I'm finished. Holy crap. WHat a masterpiece. A rollercoaster, from start to finish. Absolutely surreal
