Though the comet in the sky has been around for ages, the majority of people on the planet do not realize it is headed their way. Soral, an orphan boy who was rescued by a lonely old man in the woods, has been having visions of the event. During a hunt, he happens upon a princess named Leanne, who knows of a powerful crystal that could very well be the key to saving the planet.

Characters:

I made this game a while ago, not sure why I hadn't posted it here yet.
I do know there is a mish mash of sprites because I never had the other custom ones made!

Custom Sprites by Rebecca Murphey:

It's worth noting that I made this games' story and maps in a single week for a challenge on another website back in June of 2016. The only things added to it since that point were the custom battle sprites.

The 3D graphics were rendered in blender and I used Celianna's Ancient Dungeon tileset as the majority of the textures for everything other than the ones I made myself.

While I don't plan on continuing the game on MV or in RPG Maker in general, I do want some feedback because I hope to REMAKE (custom everything) the game in an actual 3D engine at some point and continue the story there!

Let me know what you think and thanks for coming by!

If you downloaded the game in the last 2 hours I have updated the download link and any issues you run into should be fixed now. If something still does not work, let me know!

Haha, thank you! I think it helps that much of the texture work was made from the Ancient Dungeon tileset. :)
This is downright cool, and for some reason it doesn't seem to lag my computer like most MV games. A few quick notes for ya; the rabbit sprite seems to glitch out for a moment before it runs away. Also, upon meeting the princess' bodyguard, "guard" was spelled gaurd. I personally love 3D rpg's like this, makes me wish I could make them myself. Bottom line; this game looks great.

I remember this gameee! It was really fun back when I played it after IIAW!

Remaking it? You totally should! I do kinda love this art style though... Full 3D is cool too!

Thank you for playing it! This game was a bit of a mixed bag, I must say, but it always makes me happy to hear people still get enjoyment out of it! I've noticed the rabbit glitch, among others like it, and it's likely due to the switch of the sprite for animation purposes. This happens in MV for me and I don't really know a fix for it. Funny thing about that typo, I've known about it for a while and completely forgot about it, haha. I'll fix it for sure, now!

Hey, I know this person! What's up Kloe? I'm glad you remember my game! =P If and when I remake this game, I hope it keeps the fun factor while adding even more from additional story telling!
Well, you certainly don't see many games with this perspective around here. How long would it take to complete this game?

Haha, yeah, it's not common. Complete as in finish development? Who knows, lol. Maybe a year or two if I pulled my resources and made a little team. :P

No, I meant complete as in play through the file you've uploaded here and marked as "Completed". That's what people usually mean on here when they ask this question.

My mistake. This is a very short game, I made the core of the gameplay in a week for a challenge. It shouldn't take longer than 30 min to finish. There would be more to the game but I don't plan on making this version any longer than it is which is why it's marked as "complete". :)

That's fine then. I've been playing quite a lot of short, made-for-contest games recently, so I'll check this out too, and probably leave a review as well!
Sounds awesome, looking forward to it!
This reminds me so much of my early ps1 years that I can't help but feel nostalgic.
I remember playing this a long time ago. It´s a great little game due to its unique 3d look. It´s major downside was its length, which was understandable for the competition it was in. If the final version is at least ten times longer, I´d most likely give it two murdas up.

Awesome! I was really trying to achieve that feeling for this game when I was making it. I'm glad it gives you that sense of nostalgia.

Murda. Haha, thanks as always!
Great renders. Really reminds me of the PS1 era. I'm a 3d artist also looking to make my own games outside of RPG Maker in like Unreal or Unity. So to hear you say that is promising. I look forward to seeing that project one day!

Currently downloading the game, will comment further later.

Awesome! For sure, I'm currently following Smile Game Builder as it matures and really hope it gets to the same level as RPG Maker as far as functionality. This would allow me to easily make 3D RPGs, since I don't know how to code. Though, I do have friends learning C# for unity, so who knows what may come!

Look forward to seeing what you think.
I absolutely LOVE the graphics! It takes me back to the good old PS1 days. Keep up the good work man.

Thanks! I really appreciate it! :)
Played it through and the 3D backgrounds took me on a PlayStation nostalgia trip!

I would definitely enjoy anything else you create in the future with this kind of style, MV or not.
