A step in the right direction for visuals, not much else (yet?!)

The biggest pull this game has is the pre-rendered 3d parallax mapping. Personally, if I were to try something similar, I'd say it'd be safer to stick with pixel-art, made to look similar to what was attempted. As the 3d rendered objects very obviously clash visually with both the characters and other bits of the background.

It's also clear in the story & battles that the creator has spent most of their time on the mapping, which is understandable, given the scope that they wish to achieve with the project's visuals.

The story is what it is; Impending doom and you're the only one who can save the day. I would call this "Average" for an RPG Maker game, and "Average" also describes the dialogue, which felt very generic, coming from very generic characters. A strong young male protagonist, a young free spirited female protagonist. Judging by the story so far, it's a safe bet that they'll fall in love by the end, and she may even sacrifice herself to save the world. On the plus side, I did not notice any grammar or spelling mistakes!

The battle system is decent enough; Side-View is not watered down yet in games like this. There are customized (not "True Custom") animations, and original character battle sprites which are very well made! The balancing of the battles made them almost too easy for a demo, especially considering you could heal for free at any time, since access to save points is so easy.

If you know what you're doing, you could probably run through this demo in less than 3 minutes. It's VERY short, propped up only by how long you want to farm enemies, which could be forever. They respawn on the map, which is fine.

Overall I'll rate this Demo as to how it compares to other RPG Maker Demos, a decisive 3: "Average"

I've also used it as my first "Demo Trailer" to practice my video editing skills, if the creator permits! I roast (in jest!) a lot of the demo's features, but if the creator feels like it's offensive, then I'll remove it!

I hope you continue working on this game. It has a lot of potential!

Thanks for the review! I will not be continuing this game in RPG Maker. This is mainly do to my move into 3D development and most of everything I make works better in an actual 3D Engine. If I remake the game it will most likely in a 3D engine but still have 2D sprites and make it more like the first Grandia or Trails in the Sky with a rotating camera feature.
