Goku vs. Piccolo v.2

Long time no updates, so here's a little video with some new stuff I made.

It's the updated training battle between Piccolo and Goku, that became a bit longer and is served as sort of a battle system tutorial for the player. I think it can be considered a miniboss by now.

Showing improvements to the battle system:
  • Improved enemy AI, which I completely rewritten as it was one of the oldest bits of code in the battle system. Enemies now have behaviors such as "aggresive", "ranged", "scared", etc. that they can change during the fight, allowing for much more interesting battles.

  • KI attacks deflections and collisions - it's a DBZ game so it's a must have. Took me long enough to work it in.

  • Some under and over the hood improvements to the abs - mostly under - but I think it shows that it runs a lot smoother now and I'm pretty happy with that.

  • I forgot to showoff a diagonal KI blast, but there's one at around 2:52. Anyway, diagonal KI attacks are also a thing now which is cool.

  • There's loot now! It's only chicken at the moment but if your'e a hungry Saiyan that's not a bad thing. Enemies have a chance to drop loot upon death, and there are rocks scattered around that can be broken for chicken. Which makes sense.


The "behave change" messages during the last bit of the fight shouldn't show in the final product, I just forgot to turn them off for the video. :)
