Demo Patch 1.42 (Monster Manual Fix)

This patch adds and fixes the following

Fixes
- Monster manual glitch, it adds a Eraser Item that resets the monster manual. You can now use this to continue with Newer Patches. You must use the item before going into a battle If the monster is new or a name was changed.

This is added to your party upon entering the overworld. (check key items after leaving the town/castle)
There will be books scattered in the Demo that permanently adds monsters to the book so the reset will only reset how many you have beat once you read them.

The book that adds all monsters in the demo is found in the Bazaar. Check the bookshelves.

-Quickwiz can now slow you down also. Using a warpwing or casting return won't reset the effect anymore.

-The Duel Battles (Tangtl Castle) and Wildslime battles should not freeze up anymore.

-Previous saves (1.3 and up) can now be used, You need to use the Erase Item once you leave the castle/town.

Changes
The Escape rate has been tweaked. Each failed attempt will add 20% success on the next escape attempt during the battle.

Demo Patch 1.4 Quick Patch

Man these scripts!

There's a glaring bug that will make continuing future versions of the game from a previous builds save impossible! It's located in the Monster Manual Script.

It tries to read and place the enemies in the games data as an array, but I think it can't update itself nor does it take kindly to enemies with the same name... This screws up the placing of the monsters that are unlocked in the book.

So I'll be looking into a means to fix this, or just taking out the script. (for now)

This Demo has an option to just make the hero OP early on and skip the prologue. I myself get tired of doing that over and over again!!!! (Neigh Neigh!!!!!)

Choosing to skip will do the following :
-Make hero Level 10
-Good Weapon
-Good Armor
-Some items and Gold also.

Sorry about the mistakes, but I'm updating it as quickly as possible!

DEMO 1.3 Released

Ok the new patch is out.

With that out of the way I'll continue on the game past theses points.
I want to make a much lengthier DEMO to Release by the end of the October that will have the following:

- Monster Recruiting and Monster Farm I'll update the Monster manual to show which monsters can be recruited!
- A Tavern Feature in Loran Castle (Drop off party members)
- Progress up until you receive a ship! And maybe a little after...
- More Human Recruits with back stories
- More of the main quest, side quests, bosses, and Key items
- Many more Spells and Skills
- More Variety in Monster Battles in the Casino and hopefully a fix to the AI sometimes hitting itself.
- More Levels to the Cave of Whispers
- I'll probably add more of my custom monsters/tiles to the game also
- A Music box feature that lets you set the battle and overworld themes!
- An animation for when you find an item, It'll appear above the players head.
- As a request I may throw in an alchemy pot that lets you combine items to make newer weapons? This will require me to add in items that will only be used for that reason. (Like Iron Ore, Mythrill, etc etc)

I hope that it'll be around 6-8 hours of gameplay.

Demo Patch 1.3

Later today I'll be releasing an updated demo with the following fixes and changes.

Bug Fixes:

  • Re entry to TreeFace's Area if you leave without grabbing a root

  • Re entry to Rock Pass from the West is now fixed

  • Jand SoftKill is fixed (occured if you entered at night with Riara)

  • Tega recruit error is fixed

  • Monster manual processing is fixed

  • Changed Member joining process

  • Locked House stairs can now be entered in Loran Village

  • Antidote bug is fixed

  • Error- Inn in Loran would not change map to Day tileset fixed

  • Fixed signs for Ginzt's bounty.

  • All Chest/Dressers/Book Shelfs work!

  • Fixed the rope going down into wells

  • Well Glitch in the prolouge fixed



Adjustments:
  • Updated Monster Manual with items drops for more of the monsters.

  • A Option to change Hero's name in Tangtl Castle

  • TreeFace Is now a bit weaker (doesn't spam Panicall)

  • Some Zurro's Tower enemies have been weakened

  • You can carry 25 Healing/Recovery type items (Herbs StrongHerbs Antidotes SleepHerbs)

  • Tomba and Johan have things to say after completing some quests.


Unfortunately these changes will mess with any previous save data.
So I'll provide anyone with a save file that has the following completed (caution spoilers):


-Location in Tangtl Chapel
-All party at level 12
-Best Armor/Weapons For Heroes
-(followers Johan, Tomba, Riara in the team)
-Ginzt Beaten and choice to jail him chosen. and Paa'sNote delivered. Other quest will have to be reactivated and done.
-2000 gold

Hints for other quest:

Rope is found in Tangtl
Evil Twig is found in Tangtl speak around
MagicBomb found in RockPass

DEMO 1.2 Released

For anyone looking to try out the DQ Gaiden a demo has now been posted. (In link form)

I'll be updating this build periodically with fixes to any errors that may occur in game.

Updates and More!

Hello all
Updates:
So this game's first demo will be released by the end of the month! So 10 Days!!! If everything goes smoothly I'll post if any delays come up. It'll be about 3-4 hours of gameplay and it's to get initial feedback from players. So be sure to drop some feedback if you do give it a play. I'll attach in the demo's download a small readme listing things featured in the game (spells items story). I may have someone let's play the initial demo also.
