You play as Vale a hero cast into a strange world without warning. You'll meet two characters, an armored warrior and a powerful mage, before being tasked by a mysterious priestess to slay an evil that prevents your journey home. Initially you'll be provided a safe haven filled with supplies for your journey and even some supplies that require a bit of combat to acquire IF you can find the entrance. Acquire new spells as you progress through the monster filled map and learn of the history behind its dark secrets. Two endings with two different bosses lie in wait depending on a certain choice made half way through your quest. It is up to you the player to decide which ending you'll face.
Completing the story twice will give you the grandest scope of the story laid before you. Great care must be taken when utilizing your potions and herbs to efficiently replenish your team! Finished the game twice with both endings. The boss battles are really repetitive, boring and too long, to be honest. I liked the limited amount of potions which gave the game a touch of survival-game, though. And it's "Heroes" not "Heros" btw :P
Hey reggird thanks for giving Dark Quest a shot! Your right the boss battles can become tedious and repetitive but hopefully the soundtrack helped relieve that a bit. This was indeed my first rpgm game and I wanted to focus on a few key elements that would make for a good stand alone experience, before later moving onto a more fully fleshed out project in the future.
