Name: Armored Dragon Corps

Developers: Kevincalanor, Aethers, Kylaila, Delsin7

Story: You are an elite squad that operates a robot. You travel around the world blowing up other robots. The logo is a dragon head. This is all.

Writing: A blurb before each mission. The font is terrible. Qs are almost indistinguishable from Os.

Gameplay: Pretty fun. This is a twin stick shooter that operates using mouse to aim and shoot and the keyboard to run and jump. This setup presents a bit of a problem that we'll discuss in a bit. Weapons fire can be seen so that you can see just how wildly inaccurate your gun is. Thankfully, the majority of enemies die in one or two hits. Flying enemies don't die quite as obviously, losing control and then crashing. You'll shoot them a few times before you get used to it.

Yeah, our background artist clearly doesn't know where his light source is.

A big problem here is the controls. It seems fine, at first, movement controlled with the keyboard and shooting controlled with the mouse, except you first notice the problem with trying to multi-jump and power boost. If you're not shooting, it's okay, but if you are, you're trying to do it with one hand, and it's incredibly unnatural and cumbersome. When you reach the boss, this makes him unbeatable. His missiles are dodgable, but having to run, jump, and dodge with only one hand while the other hand shoots is not possible. Cannot be done. This is an incredibly bad control design decision that really takes away from the flow and the fun of the game. In the level, it constantly forces you to focus on what your hands are doing in order to simply progress through the level, and against the final boss, this division of attention makes this a game breaking design flaw. Jump needed to be the right mouse button. This was a critical error. Jumping and movement, particularly with multijumping and power boost functions, should never be consigned to a single hand.

Graphics: Nice, and very stylish, although a few basic rules need to be observed, particularly lighting.

Music: Perfect. It adds to the atmosphere nicely, and is so unobtrusive, you don't even remember it.

Glitches: In the fight with the boss, you can jump over the wall, and then dodging the missiles is no longer an issue...but you can't win, either.

Conclusion: A lot of fun as a demo. Really needs more features to be recommendable, and that motion control really needs to be reworked. If I were rating, I'd give it two stars as it is. It's a fun game that looks pretty, but it's got serious issues that need to be worked out.
