This is a game made by someone doing their first project.
Wait, don't go yet!!! I meant officially on public.

So, what's this game about?!
This game is about thanking the community for their time and willing to teach a dummy like me to get in touch to game dev. Afterall, it's only normal to repay what I learnt to the community by creating one. ....Hopefully it reaches minimum aspect.

The Story
In short, this game is all about a Cat trying to go home, back to his safe, comfortable home. Yes, that's all, I kid you not.

You play as Cate, a typical, normal, average, easily seen cat living in a safe house with a dog that constantly tease and bully you. However, everything changed the day when Cate decided to be brave and head out to venture to the outside world for the first time.

The Gameplay
Typical RPG style, with a random minigame of moghunter's theatrhythm included.
Basically a casual game, which you could almost spam attack for those interested in story only.


Features

-An in-game pc coded using rpg maker engine structure. Trust me, you don't want to see the loops.
-Classes! Jobs! Total of 10.
-Party members, friends. 10 of them, each with their own classes.
-7 dungeon each with their own annoyance unique.
-A town that serves almost nothing. seriously George, why did I built that town?
-Music from the good old RPGmaker.net free music assets! Seriously, I love them so much.
- A few badly drawn parallax mapping and RTP graphics! no wait, is that a feature?
-It's...erm...free, zero ads?

-Judging from my username, you probably expected memes. Yup, memes.
-bad writings that probably shown from all the Strikes.
-Lack of backspace that made all these strikes.
-One man created game. Ok, I should stop, I'm just running out of features to impress you TT.

Although the game is marked completed, there may still be bugs inside it despite playtested multiple times. If you found any bug, please do inform me and I will fix it as soon as possible.

Any recommendation or improvements are highly welcomed! I am a beginner afterall.

A learning dummy and a friendly community

Let's see....it's been more than 1 year since the release of Cate Quest. A silly dumb game made for a friend, and first, most embarrassing game released to public.

What's worst is that I never included Firefly84 as a tester until now. Talk about being a beginner in rpgmaker.net
Anyway, one of my game, A Night near the Woods, reminded me about this game. (The talk about Shibo making Cate a hero in a game instead of being the bad guys.)

I think it's also a great opportunity to thank the friendly community of RPGmaker.net for allowing this abomination game to be released in public. Thank you guys, it really means a lot to me. Thanks.

Maybe, just maybe. I should one day come back and improve this game (And it's horrible grammars) Or perhaps, maybe, make a Cate Quest 2? It's not popular or great, but I sure as heck enjoyed making it, as long I have fun making fun stuff, I'm sure the players will have fun as well? We'll see, only time will tell.


Edit: To those that are wondering, yes, there is a Doge Saga, made by Stormcrow and me :D And there once was a small doggo made for his school project that was never released to the public...Doge Quest.
Also now that I look back, How. In the. Heck was this approved with those images. Thank you so much, kind friendly community of RPGmaker.net T.T

I have found two problems in your game so far:
I can't find any Molten Rocks at the Vulcano and I can't reenter the Hark Bluedin Remains for Rat's requests.

Glich:
You can battle Behemoth repeately.
In Gilnea Doge is in the party (I haven't found him yet). I can't leave the City too. Gladly saved on a different file. (The second fight there is too fast for me)

Edit: You get no reward for getting the book for Dilara. Or for the cooking tipps from Monica.
Where is the Dark Office?
Where is the Cliff?

Edit: You can learn Master Cate without the Master book.

Hi firefly, thanks for playing and helping me testing around my game!

I've noticed the problems and fixed it, will reupload it as soon as possible.

However, for the rat's request, could I request for more precise info?
Because it should allow players to see+climb the stairs in the 4th floor.
(That said, I added a tip text from the conversation stating its in the 4th floor.)

For the Doge part, I've added a sprite to tell the player where to exit and interact with it. (My apologize, I forgot about it xd)
And for the Doge, that town is a side story quest town, so Doge will be in it.
But will be removed when leaving the town.

And for the requests rewards, some request only rewards friendship points.
It's added, but not told to players (check the Handheld device)
- Fixed it with a text stating increased friendship.

And for the Dilara part, if you bought Dilara together to the bird npc, they don't reward you instantly. Instead, you need to return and talk to Dilara again.
(She should reward you a tasty white potion =d)

Rat's Request: I cannot enter the dungeon like I told you. I stand on the worldmap but the "OK" button is missing.

I will see how far I get with those fixes.

Ah yes, I found the problem now, some code structure error , making it unable to enter after recruited the ally there. Thanks! Will upload in a minute.

Just tried the Gilnea quest again.
After defeating the Banshee you are back at the base:
with Doge still in party and unable to add a human character and no airship anymore.
You have to rework it. And you got the Remix of Remembrance 2x.
Until you fix this I will do the Rat's request.

And I can't still find Doge and the Black Office.

Got it, I'l work on it. Really sorry I didn't notice such a huge mistake.
Doge is the end character, you'll get him only after you finish the main quest.
Gimme a few sec as I re-move the office to a better significant place.
(I admit the office is hard to locate.)

Another Bug: You can't go back down after finding the Moonlight Dagger.

And Wilan can't be talked to for the Ioedeh request.

Again, I must thank you with full gratitude. Without your help, I would not have noticed these problems in the late game.
(I bugtested the whole game 6(frankly speaking, I lost count, 6 as in whole full run) times, and went a little speedrun on the late run, I'm so sorry....)

And also sorry to those who have downloaded this game and facing problems and error.

Edit: yes, the building with Garrett inside is the office.

Reggy's time cut scene isn't working properly. He is crying.
After Gilnea I cannot make a group anymore (party is full with cate only)
At the Dilara time cut scene a crystal appears but I cannot reach it.
The time orb to the far right is not responding.

-Oh, I found the problem between Ieodeh and Wilan now! I kept fixing/reconstruct what happens after it(not on point), haha silly me. Fixed the error and text. By default was suppose to be a loop where they will keep asking you to help them talk, but you need to find someone to help(Coorgle). Added text to help players.
-added exit portal for each time scene to prevent confusion.
-fixed reggy scene text, mistaken some with young reggy and present reggy.
- The crystal, My apologize, parallax mapping fixed with normal mapping method. Fixed
-Found the issue of Gilneas(You enter and exit again then only finish, right?) I love you, careful observer.

The time orb on far right doesn't respond in future or present except texts. (That's your time orb.) Thank you for your time again, I really learnt a lot from these mistakes, thank you!
