The year is 2044. After the events of World War III, the United States and European Union are no more, so utterly devastated they were by the nuclear fallout. The power vacuum in Northern America gave rise to the "Pacific Union", with Neopolis as it's capital in South America.
While the world is still at peace, the Neopolis police still fights the crimes in it's city, even as they are getting more violent by the day.
They send a special agent, Isolda Shinawara, to investigate those cases finding traces of Drako, a drug that makes a person stronger and aggressive. As follows the case, she will find it leads to a much more dangerous, and corrupt, path that was originally thought...

Finally!
The english version of Neon Lightning Force is here, you can download it from the Download button in the game page xd, thanks to Dyhalto for the assistance with translation :D.
Also the audio compression reduced a lot the game weight (less than 50mb), thanks to EN.I. that taught me how to do it without lose quality :D .

Strictly speaking we allow people to host their downloads offsite, yes. We don't police it beyond that, though.
Remember, we also limit download sizes to 450mbs (previously it was 250mb).

Wow... I think is because the bandwitch of my host, so strange because I bought the unlimited plan x.x. Anyways I have edited the download link to a mediafire for those who has trouble with adfly and other network errors x.x.

Let's give credit where credit is due. For those who don't know this is made in OpenBOR. So it's kind of like making a game in SMBX engine and then being praised for having pretty good Mario physics. It's a smooth beat em up, yes, but that is the engine. This is a reskin essentially.
That being said, this one looks really good. Many OpenBOR games have stretched graphics and crappy sound and lack general polish. This one is really nice. From the "Winners don't use drugs" xD to the transitions/cutscenes. It looks legit.
However, the combat is a bit lacking. The vertical dodging is interesting however there are no moves. Just standing punch, running punch, and jump kick(unless there is something I'm missing). Along with grabs and main special. All these things exist is all OpenBOR games.
What makes the other OpenBOR games better is that they add street fighter like moves(down,forward punch and down,up punch). It's those kinds of moves that make the games truly interesting. I've played a ton of beat em ups over the years and they all suffer similar problems. They get boring after a few levels due to lack of variety in the moveset. This game kind of feels like that after a short time playing.
I downloaded nearly every OpenBOR game and played most of them. This one is probably top 5-10 so far, and is about 7/10. It's just a bit too default to be top tier.

I think I showed that in the game trailer, also in some videos on the media section of the game page, in fact, the game is almost "imposible" to beat if you don't master the special moves.
I think the problem is that I don't use the classic arcade button configuration(?) in the game (also the "how to play" section is in spanish and my terrible skills for doing tutorials don't cooperate at all x.x), so the "down,forward punch" is a "down, down, punch" and the "down,up punch" is a "up, up, punch" I find easy to do a special moves that way (I'm terrible at Street Fighter, when I trying to do a Hadouken I get a Shoryuken xd).

Nice game,played it to stage 5(think i beaten the harbor) but lost already with Isolda that Barbie or what it does too much damage and i clearly don't have a good tactic fighting if i lose 2 lives at encounter with her by her spining it's arm or body.
Is there any video of people playing this?
Maybe it's just a problem with my gamepad that i don't properly use the 3rd tech but i am using an analog stick on my gamepad to move since the d-pad isn't that good anymore on my logitech rumblepad 2.
Guess if i can get used to using tech3 i then know how to beat her.
