Good Arcade Fun

Neon Lightning Force is a very well made game and is quite fun too. Neon Lightning Force is a beat 'em up game (think Double Dragon or Steets of Rage.) Neon Lightning force is written in Spanish, so you might not understand the story portion of the game, but don't let that stop you from trying it.

You have three characters you can choose when you start the game. Each of them has a unique fighting style, so I would try each one to see which one you prefer. I think I liked fighting with the girl the best because her kicks seemed to have a longer range and her special move seemed to always hit multiple enemies really well. At the start of the game you might want to spend a minute to get familiar with the controls, especially if you're playing with a keyboard.

Here's a quick run down on the controls I figured out:

Arrow Keys = Movement
Enter = Pause the game
V = Attack
B = Jump Up
N = Block
C = Special Move, when gauge is filled
F = Jump towards the foreground.
G = Jump towards the background.

You can pick up weapons and use them for a limited time.

Neon Lightning Force plays very fluidly. I never had any issues with it. The hit detection with the enemies works like you expect it would. And when you press the attack button it performs very well. The animations for all the attacks are absolutely excellent. The special moves, in particular, are a great showcase of this. The background music is what you would expect from a game like this and all the sound effects are perfect (hitting enemies and performing moves.)

Fighting against an end stage boss.

Neon Lightning Force has a great variety of enemies. Each has a particular look and play style. The bosses are perhaps the best showcase this game has to offer in terms of intelligent enemy A.I. I think this game has the perfect level of difficulty too. You can't just run through levels without some sort of thought. The enemies are challenging, but the game is never frustrating. I can't sing this game's praises enough, so I'll just end this and give it a 4.5 / 5.
