The main download has been updated! This build is still very much incomplete, naturally. However, it includes...

  • Glikx Hights

...which now had it's mapping revised (including the Bandit Camp), and standard encounters to fight. I'm currently using encounters triggering on a number-of-steps basis (altered from the original method, of course), but, I may change to on-map encounters later.

  • Sraphyhl Peak

...which has one new (to this release) recruit, and a possible point of story development that is currently unimplemented. This area also has standard encounters, which are slightly more difficult (but not by much) than Glikx's.

  • Revised creatures

...thanks to the work on my entry in Theme Roulette, and A Half-n-Half Affair (which currently has FRONT PAGE EXPOSURE, BABY (Thanks Libby!)). This revision was more about HP values, though some MP values were altered as well. Though, I kinda worry that this revision might backfire on me. It's always tricky to figure what the HP of enemies of varying levels might look like, given the HoM&M damage formula, and how it functions.

  • Unites fixed

...AGAIN! They've been tested several ways, and I'd like to think I've covered all the things that shouldn't happen concerning them. However, I've been proven wrong on this before, so, please let me know!

Available Unites in this build include: Best Friends, Bandit Attack, Luxaren Allure, Training Regimen, and Blade Flash.

Blils Wood
...an area with a few recruits to obtain, and mobs to fike. This also houses your temporary HQ until the plot (when it actually gets implemented) deems that players obtain the actual HQ. For full disclosure, some recruits that were found in Staerdale Palace have been moved there.
Having a temporary HQ wasn't 100% part of the plan, but, it just felt like the right decision to make.

War Battles
...have been implemented, even if they are only so far as a practice/tutorial/test scenario. There are currently no rewards for winning, or penalties for defeat for the practice/tutorial/test scenario, though, it might behoove me to include something.

Total recurit count
...in this build is up to 58 out of the 108 possible. I've yet to map/implement any area in Chapter 2, much less later than that. Characters still have no prerequirements, or quests to perform, so, this doesn't nessessarily mean that players will be able to obtain all those people when I start implementing the story.

The newly available Unites in this build include: Exquisite Perfection and Trickster's Creation.

...another dungeon-with-recruits.

Total recruit count
...in this build is up to 72 out of the 108 possible. For what it's worth, all the cameo characters are now recruitible.

The newly available Unites in this build include: Rivarly and Ninjitsu.

Also new, recruits that can be put into the party for this release will have their level be relative to Sarah's when you recruit them. Most will be a lower level, a few will be on the same level, while even fewer will be higher level.

Is it just me, or has the potential this game has had the last few builds risen quite a bit? Anyway, time to implement is the story. I've a few ideas on this point, but, Darigaaz, I really, really need to take an actual break from this, as opposed to fake-breaks. ;_;

Download updated! This build includes...

Windowskin swapping
...has been included. As noted in this post, players can either use the System menu option, or talk to Davin to switch windowskins.

Monster re-balancing
...has been applied. Experience and gold awards have been slightly improved. Also, I swapped the available encounters in Blils Wood and Gilix Heights. Levels (and stats) have been adjusted to critters now found in Glikx Heights, and also for critters found in Wal Pinnacle, Klird Timberland, and Trygh Forest. Generally, these adjustments were on the downside. However, I will note that critters now found on Glikx Heights have been adjusted upwards.
The Glikx adjustment was to make Vapleissau, as an area, less attractive to go to, and as more of the end-game location it is supposed to be. However, when the time comes (ie: when I get a story in here), I will put some kind of barrier in Glikx Hights to prevent players from going to Paltron Citadel and/or Trygh Forest before the story would allow it.

More bugs?
I am somewhat aware of a bug concerning Unites. I'm pretty sure it has to do with cancelling a Unite command while the skill-selection window is open. Apparently, after doing that, then attempting to use the Rune command, will bring up the available Rune slots of another member of the Unite? I'm not exactly sure what could cause that!
Other bugs may exist elsewhere in this mess game. Please, let me know about them, if you find them!

We now have something that might actually resemble a game now! The content of this release is playable up to the approximate end of Chapter 1. There should be 22 recruits in total. It might be a little tough to track who you've gotten, as Zoe's service is unavailable. However, if you need a little help, there's some info under the hide-tag as to who's available.
