Just to point out that the walls are three-four tiles high and those big pillars to the left are definitely going through the ceiling based on them being much taller than that.

I also recommend looking in to a patch that actually has border tiles with that grass. They're not too hard to create, and there are some tiles in the default set that have no background so can go on any tile.
