Love and War is a tale taking place on the world of Terra. Ever since the birth of the first nation-state on this world, Terra has been wracked by the scourge of war. Five nations managed to survive throughout the ages, yet it seemed as though with each passing day, humanity slipped closer and closer to self-annihilation.

One man made a difference, however. The youthful Emperor of the Zion Empire, Geraud Valtemond, was this man. A brilliant, honorable, and benevolent monarch, he managed to open the eyes of the leaders of the other nations, showing them what lay ahead if Terra persisted down this road. Through diplomacy and sheer force of will, Lord Geraud created the Commonwealth; an international governing body, comprised of democratically elected representatives and Peacekeeping Forces, which would forever make war a thing of the past.

Three centuries have elapsed, and people have forgotten the lessons of the past. Tensions are rising between nations once again, and it seems as if the Commonwealth is powerless to do anything but watch as its order crumbles. Can one man make a difference, once again?

Love and War: Jaina's Story Released!

Hiya everyone! Just wanted to report the release of Love and War: Jaina’s Story!

It’s a new short video starring Jaina Vellin, on St. Mikhail’s Day. Please feel free to check it out, and let me know what you think! Special thanks go to DollVA for voice acting Jaina (and Helen!), Khaishian for the artwork, and Aekenon for recording and editing the video itself. Merry Christmas, and Happy St. Mikhail’s Day to you all!

gsp1995: Try backtracking a little bit and taking another route.
I'm stuck in the Marsh where Juno destroys the log that allowed access across the river. What am I supposed to do now?
Many thanks, Spiffyman! Glad you enjoyed your time with Act I. :)
So I just finished LaW: Act I and I must say that I really like this game. Great job!
Bugfragged: Nice work on finishing the game! I'm glad you enjoyed your time in the world of Terra. :)

Kersh: Certainly a possibility on the Juno graphic, although I'm not sure it would have helped very much. Ryan's character sprite is different though, so I'm not sure what you're referring to there. :)
Aww come on you could have at least edited Heie in paintshop shorten his hair and color it blue. It wouldn't have taken that long to make him look like Juno. I am also curious as to why Ryan's design wasn't updated to fit his picture. It's exact same as it was like 5 years ago when this started I am certain I have seen and I even have charasets that resemble Ryan's picture perfectly.
I finally finished the game. Of all the RPG Maker games I played, I think this one has the best NPC dialogue. I especially enjoyed the "lifter" series of NPCs and hope to see more of those guys in Act II.

Thoughts on the ending:
It was kinda sad seeing the ending with Ryan and Henrik. In terms of the writing, I think it's kind of sudden for Ryan to accuse Henrik of betrayal, since they already went through about a few million side quests together. Also, Juno's reason for killing Kodenai isn't entirely unfounded thanks to the throwing knives. Ryan should at least understand that Henrik helped Juno out of trust rather than intending to betray anyone. Still, I guess it's possible that the shock of seeing someone killed unnerved Ryan enough to make such a hasty accusation. Plus, the tropes page claimed that Juno would have killed Ryan if he won the duel, so that might explain Ryan's distrust towards him. Hopefully, Armin will figure out how to get the three compadres back together, once he takes a break from dating.

Also, I assume it's impossible to get Lavie on the ship, unless there's some kind of dexterity or level requirement that allows her to run fast enough.

For Act II, it would be nice if more playable characters had full body animations for their attacks like Juno. We can't have him hogging all the badassery (and animation budget) for himself.
Thanks.

I paid the taxes for the veteran, but I can't get the dog tag in his house to appear. What else do I need to do to trigger it?

Edit: Nevermind, it turns out that all I had to do was be a little more pushy inside of his house. I almost thought I boxed myself during that quest.
Nope, there's no dog tag in the Marsh, so don't worry about missing one there. :)
Also, is there a dog tag in the Marsh area? The rock bridge is no longer accessible, so I might be screwed if there was a dog tag beyond that point.
Thanks. I almost thought I missed out on one of those elusive dog tags or something.
Arkon seemed to think that the Colonel might be able to do something about the uniform he was wearing, and asked Ryan if he could mention it to the Colonel. Sadly, Ryan's not going to remember this, so don't worry about it. :)

As for Marianne, you'll run into her soon enough - there's no specific need to seek her out.
I've been assigned the 2nd delivery and Arkon told me that I forgot to do something for him. What exactly was it?

Also, Marianne's dad asked me to talk to her, but she's not in her usual place in the bar. Where could she be?
Heya Oblic. Yes, there is an Act II demo which you can find here: http://www.antioch.snow-fall.com/law/downloads/Law2-DEMO.zip (I'm a bit hesitant since I feel it's fairly old and unpolished by revamp standards, but c'est la vie). Unfortunately in this instance I wouldn't recommend moving your save over to the demo, as it will likely lead to bugs and errors (it being incompatible with the new version of Act I). Still, you may well get some fun out of it, I hope!

The last save from Act I should be moved over to Act II. Hopefully, that will work out fine!

Wait just a hot second... does this mean there is an Act II out there somewhere? I know you mentioned that there was a rough demo out there on the interwebs, but I never found it. I started drooling when I saw this, so please don't make me wait!
To Admiral Styles

Ok i have doubt but it was simple.
Thanks you for your quick answers.
Thanks for your kind words MisterDude, they're the ones that help keep us RPG makers (heh) going. :) Glad you enjoyed Act I! The files you are referring to are the save ones, the "Save01.lsd/Save02.lsd, etc" ones in the main directory. The last save from Act I should be moved over to Act II. Hopefully, that will work out fine!

I just finished the game. I loced the puzzles near the end, i wish there were more of them.I read some of the critics and i find some of them harsh for such an awesome game. Keep up the hard and good work !!!

Thanks you again !

So for the next act what files do i have to keep ?
To Admiral Styles

Thanks a lot that was very helpful !!
I feel silly to be stuck at those side quests but now i can move on with the story.

And sure i will still enjoy the game!
Hello MisterDude, many thanks for registering and posting here. :) Hope you continue to enjoy Act I. As to your questions, well:

Since you don't remember where you got the fifth one, that leaves three possible locations. You can find...

1 dogtag in Lake Derren.
1 dogtag in Hartridge (make sure to complete the final guild quest, and then search the house!)
1 dogtag in Blackwater Park.

It sounds like you might be missing one poster placement? I believe there are three locations in Lorean...

Hope that helps!
