On the backroads of West Texas, a man returns home to the family ranch, the Circle C. Upon arriving he finds that all but his brother have been slaughtered by aliens, cryptid monsters and faceless horrors. He must now find his only surviving family and take back his land!
The Ranch was made for the RETROMANIA event celebrating RMN's 10TH anniversary! It is a semi-maze 3d DOOM inspired first person survival horror game with light RPG elements.

Man, as someone who's also attempted a first person rpg horror at some point I know it's pretty hard, so I look forward to seeing how this plays out.

I made it to the end!
I love the atmosphere and level design. Areas are fairly easy to map in your mind and not too labyrinthine.
I think that the difficulty and its curve are excellent. I died a handful of times but tried a different approach each time and made it to the end.
Some thoughts about the specific areas:
I ran into a couple of bugs that shutdown the game for an unknown reason. It happened as I was walking in Areas 1 and 4. So I took the habit of saving very often.
I'd be down for playing a longer version with more features, such as the possibility to camp and recover fully, find better weapons and defense-boosting gear, attack items like fuel cans, etc.
Overall, this short game shows a promising and well-executed concept.

Thank you so much, Avee! :D I too encountered the crashing a few times in my testing and could never quite replicate it. I should add a disclaimer to save often, which I did too.
I definitely would love to expand this, I didn't want to make it too long to start with because I wasn't sure if the gameplay worked well with the environment, but I'm glad you liked it, that means a lot! More weapons, interactive stuff to mess weith, like camping for example. I would love to figure out some skills too.

Sorry for the delay! But I got the event version uploaded. I'll update the download when I can with some small additions and fixes!

I've really enjoyed it, haven't managed to beat level 5 yet. Don't have enough healing items and everything kills me in a hit. Will need to go back and try to optimize my level 4 run.
I wouldn't mind some sort of automap that get filled in as you explore. Got a bit turned around here and there, specially on level 4. Also nice to know if you missed exploring some area.

Yeah, since some numbers are set and no randoms, you can be pretty hurt by time Level 5.
