BLACK KNIGHT TERRORIZE VILLAGES GO SAVE!


Made during Retromania, Dumb Castle is a feeble attempt at making a platformer/shooter with RPG Maker VX Ace. It may have taken a bit of inspiration from Dark Castle.

Features include the worst Engrish dialog monologue I can muster, no way to quit the game (outside of a choice-window after winning the game, or an ALT-F4), and the ever-popular sometimes-popular Wand of Blasting mechanic.

Screenshots look more like a fantasy version of Qbert. The perspective may be interesting.

Can't say I've heard of that game, much less have played it. What I can say is that there were brief thoughts of doing proper stages and a hub-area, similar to Beyond Dark Castle. However, that idea was scrapped for the more simple design you see here.

*Edit: This is already more comments on this game than I expected! WOOT!

...my first thought was Donkey Kong. You know, the original before Mario Bros became a thing? Yeah, that game. It definitely feels like it drew inspiration from there (which makes sense being retro-aimed and all).
