Babadook is just your average homosexual monster, and he's dating the Bye Bye Man! He wants to give his boyfriend a gift for pride month, but there's a problem: He lost the present it in the house of a widowed mother named Amelia! Now he must explore the house to find the gift, but he may get much more than he expected!
Babashook: The Game is a self aware comedy spin off of the famous horror movie, The Babadook. Almost everything has been made in only a few hours with the exception of the tilesets. The entire game takes place in only one map and is only a few minutes long.

CloseThe game looks snazzy so far.. yet, maybe you could have used a more dark color theme for the house? In the movie, the house tends to look empty and depressed. Just a thought but, it's kinda too late lol.

I have officially been SHOOK! What a cute and 100% accurate game.
Bugs/Feedback:At one point the Bye Bye Man's name has a 0 after it in the dialogue. The sound effects are also like, really loud. Scared the jebezus out of me the first time I went down the stairs.
Dang nabbit! I'll probably fix those if further bugs show up, I don't wanna go through an hour of uploading time just to fix those super minor issues ^^;

Guys it's the wrong monster to take. You do not want to dehumanize numbers of your community , you're literally making a monster that symbolizes the darkness and I do mean it the dark things I'll look in our heart the grief the sadness the unbearable suffering. And not this empowering you but destroying you. What are the protagonist for sale she'd literally both loves and hates her son. Four seas all that she has left of her dead husband you're part of her feels guilt and hatred for his existence because a part of her subconsciously blames her own son for the death of her husband. that grief that hatred that angry is what Babadook represents. It's not something positive it is intense negativity of her life that she needs to deal with daily the curve literally destroyed and the one that she holds most dear. You could make an argument that she is the Babadook. All of us it's just a visible representation of her mental breakdown of her internal suffering and how its expressed.
If I was member of a group I would not want that to be a representative at all. It's like co-opting Marty from Lisa to represent the redeeming factors of fatherhood.
Example you're associating with a game in gay man, gay means happy. With the character represents is the opposite of everything that is happening. Ironically enough the character may not even be a man it could be the protagonist or Worse experience straight man because it takes the form of her dead husband Tormentor and ask her to kill her own son.

Its a joke Joel, don't overthink it dude. The movie got put in the LGBT section of Netflix by accident and we decided to make him an icon. People know what the original plot of the movie and what the Babadook was meant to symbolize.
The only deeper level of the joke is that gay people claiming horror movie icons as LGBT icons is sorta "you said we we're monsters so we're taking all the monsters. they're gay and ours now"

You guys having this creature as a symbol gay pride is like having Jefferson Davis the symbol of the Civil Rights Movement. There's better options out there. At the same time I do enjoy the meme worthiness of this game.
It became an icon after someone on tumblr pointed out that the babadook was gay and netflix went and added it as an lgbt movie I think.

I know this monster became an icon because Netflix fucked up. This creature literally symbolizes Survivor guilt misery and suffering. It's the protagonist frustrated emotions of the death of her husband and learning the deal with it without destroying her or her son. Among fans we don't know if this new gay icon is just symbolic metaphors or what's going on in your head or something real.

Slight babadook spoilers ahead
I actually tried to poke fun at some things in the movie with this by thinking of the babadook as the good guy and amelia as a mean villian. For example, the babadook takes the time to write a book for them, and he even takes the time to illustrate it. That probably took him a while. And then guess what amelia does? She burns it. Or like how a hole appears in the wall in the movie and when it suddenly disappears later on and amelia questions her sanity. What if the babadook just fixed it for her?
