Momoe Link by Kanatakkun
Length: ~15 minutes

Ahhh, robot husbando!

Momoe Link is an adorable visual novel made for the gaymak event. And hence, as you would expect, the game is mainly about gayness. Which is awesome, because I think LGBT in rpg maker is not that common, so it's always a delight to see. Here's hoping there will be more gay events in the future!

Onto the actual game itself - Momoe Link is a short little visual novel with some great art. Every problem I have with the game is simply a nitpick, and I couldn't find any huge serious issues with it. However, I think those nitpicks are worth a mention.

How come this is here if you can't even go into it for the entire game?

Nitpick wise, most of my nitpicks were graphical. First of all, the resolution sort of messed up the backgrounds. They did not cover the entire screen, and only stood in the corner. Hence, half of the busts were in the empty space and half of them were in the background making it look weird. If the backgrounds were even smaller so that the busts only appeared in the empty space, or if they were bigger so that the busts only appeared on the background I think it would look better.
Then, there's the font. It looks nice, but the problem is that the entire game uses 2x2 pixels while the font is 1x1, making it look a little out of place. The first time I started up the game I wasn't even sure I installed it properly considering it wasn't really... correctly sized. If you are using a 16x16 font in a game where every sprite has been doubled up by 2, you'll want to double up the font to 32x32 aswell, though that is a little too big, hence why I like to use 8x8 fonts instead. 12x12 works nicely too.
There were a few small grammar errors, which I didn't really mind at all considering this is only a small game made for an event. However, writing wise, dialogues did feel a little awkward and rushed at times, especially in the good ending run. Oh yeah, there's two endings, the good ending and the ultra ending. The ultra ending is supposed to be the real ending, and it's definetly much better than the good ending, which is intented, so that's good. I think there's also a preview for the developer's next game after the ultra ending, or maybe it's supposed to be a part of the story, but it definetly is a lot more serious than the rest of the game, so something's up with that for sure.
Anyway, back to writing, I honestly had kinda mixed feelings considering, like I said, the dialogue felt awkward at times, but it was also quite lovely at other times. Shade's confession in particular was so cute, and so was that naked joke.

Aaaah, two robot husbandos!

Enough of the nitpicks, though, onto the good sides of the game! I've already mentioned multiple times that the art is great, but I've forgotten to mention something else I loved: the character designs. They were adorable, detailed, yet simple. Sure, they don't get a whole lot of screen time but I still found most of them quite likeable. The story is about as good as it can get for a 10 minute long romance game. I liked how you don't get the ultra ending if you fight the gay. That's right, embrace the gay, players! Watch gays get together infront of your very eyes. EMBRACE IT.
I also really liked the music. I instantly recognized most of it (they're from maoudamashii :P) but still liked it.

The game is ten minutes long (unless you're a really slow reader), so why not give it a go?
I give this game three and a half save crystals out of five.
