The Story

You wash up on a beach one day, discovered by a worker from the nearby village. They welcome you into their way of life and treat you as one of their own.

From this point, you are given free reign to explore the your surroundings, aid the villagers in their problems, and find various allies to join your quest.
Eventually you might even be able to acquire a raft, and use it to explore the world beyond. Find your purpose.

Who are you?
Where did you come from?
Just what is happening in the lands beyond?

The Game

This is an open-world game. You may explore freely. (Although some more dangerous areas are blocked off until you unlock them via a quest or such) You can grab various supplies by roaming around. There is grass you can inspect to gather herbs, there are bags lying around containing randomized items/weapons/armors. You can mine ores to craft weapons. You can gather materials to craft armor. You may have up to five characters at once with you in battle. Take on quests and find out the story behind your true identity!

The Features

- Customize your characters to your liking. Each character can wear different types of weapons. The weapon they wear will change their skill set. Sword skills will differ from bows. Bow skills will differ from spears, etc.

- Furthermore you can equip various 'skillbooks' onto your characters. These range from books that grant you access to magic, to books that boost various stats like your strength and defense. Others still will cause your attacks to deal bonus damage to certain species. Balance your fighters or specialize their stats to your liking!

- Up to three different difficulty modes. Easy is for those not accustomed to RPG's. Normal mode gives a moderate challenge. Hard mode is for those with experience in strategy and battles.

- Craft powerful items, weapons, and armor by gathering ores or materials. Unlock more craft options by finding secret recipes hidden around the world!

- Over 16 characters to recruit in your party. Each character will have something to say at key moments in the game depending on if you recruited them into your party or not.

- Unleash powerful combos by using 'Union Artes'! These are co-op skills that can be used by two characters at once! You must have both characters in battle who meet the required costs to execute them. These skills are unlocked by finding secret scrolls hidden around the game.

- A variety of quests await you, each with great rewards. For those seeking the thrill of the hunt, there are also Bounties! Powerful beasts causing such havoc around the world, people are paying brave adventurers to take them out. Money is largely gained from taking on Quests and Bounties.

- 100% custom battle animations. A big thanks to Wheelmanzero for helping with some of the animations, also!

- Events change based on your choices. Such as there being times where you can ally with one side or the other, and things will play out a bit differently. This also changes the characters available to recruit.

Fixed some game breaking issues so if you couldn't continue past a certain boulder in the game, redownload and carry over your save and all should hopefully be good now!
Sorry about that!

In order to use a spell, you need to equip a book of the same element. For instance, if you want to use fire spells, you'll need to equip a Fire Grimoire. At least I think that's what it was called.
ah, thank you, i did not even notice that books where a thing, i will look for them then :)
i looked arround but didnt find anyone who sold books either in arlya or gravelle, and the only book i got from a quest was plant slayer, wich isnt a grimoire, is there a place where you get them that i dont know? or am i only suposed to get grimoires later in the game?
because it feels silly to have cards being sold right from the start when you cant have anyone use magic except the magician girl (who i didnt pick) and even she can only use fire spells.
Correct me if I'm wrong Knightowl, but I believe books can't be purchased until the second island. This probably isn't a spoiler, but I'm paranoid about spoilers when it comes to other people's games, so I'm hiding it anyway.

There's a certain character that comes with a book already equipped, so if you can find them, you'll be able to use at least one element.
Indeed Wheelman is right, you can buy books on the second island. (Which you can get to relatively quickly if you do the main quest in the village)

The reason for the cards available from the begining is indeed because of Meryl, another character that you can recruit that starts with a book, and many bosses you fight will drop a book. (Including one of the first bosses)
I wanted them to be semi-rare at the -very- begining but as the game pans out you'll be able to customize yourself fully with them.

And as a small side tidbit, those -may- not be the only kind of spellbooks that the game will feature as I develop more of it. So look forward to more. ^^
Completed the demo, looks pretty nice so far!

-It would be nice if when recruiting the sisters in the first village, you could get a gift from the one you didn't recruit, so this way you could get a fire grimoire even if you don't recruit Meryl. Pretty much everything in the first island is weak to fire, so being able to use fire magic is useful. And maybe get a weapon/some accessory if you do recruit Meryl.

-Sylvia joins at level 12 but doesn't start with the corresponding BP. She starts with 0 BP for some reason, which makes her lag a bit behind enhancement-wise.

-Not sure if it is because I played in the highest difficulty, but I feel like the tail whip attack some bosses have (hits everyone and stuns) is really unfair since there's really nothing you can do about it damaging and stunning half of your party at a point you don't even have multi-target healing or stun protection. You can blind them to reduce their accuracy but I feel it makes these bosses really RNG-dependent. If you get unlucky and they spam it everytime the stun resistance wears off without you being able to land a blind, you simply can't keep up (then again, I may have been a bit underlevelled for the fights).

-It would be nice to have a guide detailing the skills you can get and which stats you need to enhance to get them (e.g. "Mana Flow: passively restores MP ; Requirements: MP up and INT up level 2"), since otherwise it feels very trial-and-error-ish since some stat combinations don't give you further skills (HP and STR for example) while some combinations aren't very obvious (INT being one of the two stats necessary to get crit chance for example). Maybe it could be included in the guide key-item, you could separate it in different volumes (depending on how advanced the skills are) that you get as you progress through the story.

Regarding the grimoires, have you thought about having different tiers of them? As in Fire Grimoire I (let's you use maybe the 2-3 first fire spells), Fire Grimoire II (let's you use 5-6 first fire spells) and so on; this allows you to make lower level grimoires more available in early game since they eventually get replaced once you start finding the higher tier grimoires that let you use stronger spells. And maybe later in the game we could get specialized grimoires, like an Aura Grimoire that let's you use all buffing spells available to a few tiers of all elements or a Healing Grimoire for healing spells; also Hybrid Grimoires that let you use spells from two or more elements.
Hey, Frejo! Thanks for your feedback! It's always helpful to hear what others think about the game!
Regarding the feedback, in order;

- That's actually not too bad of an idea. I think I'll add a little something to help balance out that choice a bit, since the early fire grimoire does make Meryl an almost unfairly enticing choice.

- Yeah I've heard that and I've fixed that up in the game, just holding off until I get another large chunk (or hopefully the whole thing) finished before the next demo!

- Yeah it can be pretty rough. I might have to say I want to keep the move on the boss though. Stun only lasts a turn, and getting hit knocks you out of it immediately, and you're given resistance for a few turns to help get you back on your feet afterward. It might just be me, but I do like a tough boss battle to look forward to. I'm just a bit of a battle enthusiast when it comes to making games. XD

- I'll take that into consideration! I could put the second guide key item in the same place I put the message that details about the system in general, it's basically considered the tutorial house after all. xD

- I actually have something very similar in mind! (And on a side note, I feel grimoires that have different levels would be a bit redundant considering stronger spells aren't available til higher level areas anyway, might lead to unnecessary spending buying both a new book + spells) I won't spoil too much on it, but I am going to have different kinds of books available later in the game!

Once again, thanks! It was great to hear from you! x3
Aaaaaaaaw yeah, I really loved your work on Terrarium, it being one of my all time favorite RPGmaker games, and I hope that this one can make it up there too. I look forward to seeing more of it done.~

I hope it can, too! And that's the plan~ It's a bit of a daunting project at times but hopefully I can place an update sometime this year~ I'll put up some new screens as I can get them.

&& Thanks, Wheelman~ xD
