Hello November! Wow, it's... been kind of a short year, hasn't it? So I guess it's time for a monthly update on Crescent Eve and it's mostly good news!

Crescent Eve is proving to be quite a big project, but now that I've been developing tangible content for the game I have a sturdy grip on where it's going and where I want the game to end up at its conclusion. At this time of this writing, the game had been rebooted sometime around June, and I only used about 10% of the original assets from the version I was working on last winter. So for what it's worth, the game has been in active development for about five months. It feels like it has been so much longer!

Today I want to go over a big change that I've made to the game: how the Moon Cycle system will come into play.

Moon Cycle Changes!

It turns out I was able to bring the Moon Cycle system MUCH farther than I originally thought, and the system will play a much more integral role in the game's combat and exploration. Take a look below!

Moon phases are now visible in battle! And this will have a variety of effects on combat depending on what phase the moon is in when entering battle. In addition, player characters and certain enemies alike will have ways to change the moon phase mid-battle, meaning that some fights may require you to keep a close eye on the moon and plan accordingly.

Some monsters may have access to different abilities, and others will change entirely!

There are other new changes to the moon system, but I want to save some surprises for the...

Upcoming Demo Soon(ish)!

My goal is to get a playable demo of Crescent Eve out by the year's end and while I don't want to give promises of a date for this, I'm about 80% done with the content I'm looking to include in it, which is the first half of Chapter 1, chronicling Lunita's adventures as a child. Most of the playable content is done, and it's largely a matter of unfinished graphical work that i've been putting off forever needs to get finished, including completing some battle animations, replacing placeholders, and other odds and ends.

Please look forward to it in the coming weeks! And thank you all once again for continuing to follow the project!

Neat! I'm really glad to hear you've gone so much more in-depth with one of your core mechanics. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Good luck!
